The Crew: Wild Run Edition

So I jumped on and did some of the summit qualifier, basically the skills and non bike events. That said with the brand time attack and Speedtrap left to do I am already into platinum.
I got the feeling I got platinum this qualifier.

Just reached lvl 13 and touched down in New York. Just wondering what is the best money making method because I really wanna get my hands on the M4.

I'm so completely confused by the Summit setup. I've just snuck into Platinum, but I have no idea what I'm doing, and I only have borrowed cars to compete so far.

From my understanding, maxing out cars to 1299 is a hugely time-consuming process. I'm really annoyed that when I get platinum on a skill, I'm awarded with some bronze piece.

@lxmmy - I'd recommend holding off until you're done the story to earn some cash. The easiest way to make a fair amount relatively quickly (almost 500k all in) is to check out all the landmarks. I fast-travelled everywhere to find them. It's not exactly fast, but it is very low effort. :P

It's actually better to go for gold medals in skills until you have all gold level parts. Otherwise, you'll have to go through getting bronze - silver - gold parts. Also, once you receive a part, you can buy that same part for other cars at their respective tuning shop.

Thanks. :)

After the story are there any like races or missions we can grind that can give a fair amount of money?

Cheers, that makes more sense. I'll stop trying to platinum everything for a bit then!

Thanks. :)

I found an A-to-B somewhere on the West Coast that gives me about 8800 for less than 10 minutes of work. That's not bad. I did a few PvP races in bikes against randoms last night while experimenting with The Summit, and walked away with over 50k. YMMV, of course.

They have what are called Faction Missions that have various lengths and payouts. However, I strongly advise staying with the "Wolves", as there is a special Faction Mission in each region at the end of the month that pays 50k for 10 minutes of smashing boxes, and the Wolves always win each month in each region.

Not recently on the Xbone. Wolves only won the East Coast and the starting region. I can't remember the other winners though.

Huh, that's interesting. Guess more people are actually bothering to change factions rather than just staying with the default one.

Oh man, I want.....I Want

Time to get my qualifier badges:D

Also I'm about to get me some more raid cars. Really lacking in that area currently.

Damn. I picked the Eagles so how do I change it plus I'm on PS4 btw.

Edit: Nevermind. Found a way to change.

You can go through the list of skills and if it shows a bronze/silver/gold part as a reward then should go for that respectively (If bronze go for gold and if it's gold well get gold)
Only until you start seeing Smart Loot is where the grinding stuff happens. (I think that starts around 1000 or 1100)
Also to add that if you get a max in street then you can have all max in street, however you cannot use street spec parts won for dirt spec (Even if it's the same car different spec)

Lately I have been doing smart loot since I have high enough cars but the downfall with that is that I get the same level 50 part just different bonus. (If you are close to max)

And to add on to that more is finding the right skill event that's not too hard to get platinum medals on.

There's 2 good skill events in and around Chicago which can done with relative ease, A long jump in the city jumping over the river via an open bridge and a Escape in a small suburb above Chicago on the map.

But I've noticed that sometimes it'll stop giving you parts and just give cash instead, At which point do or replay story missions and getting Platinum with the spec you want upgrading.

Takedown events work best if you can knock out the target quickly and consistently, Street spec has a few takedown events and one early on you can repeat, Dirt spec has one when you start The South missions and there's one for Raid Spec in the Mountain State.

Perf Spec was tricky at first, but the story mission in Miami "Predicament" (I think) can be quickly done and safely with Platinum IF you jump back on to the other road at the first crossover.

Circuit Spec? Circuit Breakers is the shortest one I think and this'll be the longest one of the Non Extreme specs to grind.

Okay, I think I've figured out the issue with Smart Loot. I've got a basic list of where to find Level 45 Gold parts, and then I head to the jump in Chicago to grind out improvements. Is there anywhere to get guaranteed golds in the final five levels, though?

Here are my notes, just in case anybody was curious. I had a hard time finding solid info online, since it appears the Wild Run expansion wreaked havoc on the old methods.

Level 45 Parts:

Precision Skill 81 - exhaust
Race Line 82 - ecu
Slalom Skill 60 - ecu
Scramble Skill 69 - fuel injection
Escape Skill 47 - fuel injection
Race Line 77 - air system
Scramble Skill 57 - gearbox
Precision Skill 90 - gearbox
Escape Skill 45 - motor core
Speed Skill 98 - motor core
Precision Skill 86 - tires
Scramble Skill 61 - brakes
Shiv - brakes (perf only)
Slalom Skill 54 - suspension
Jump Skill 38 - suspension
Speed Skill 108 - differential
Race Line 86 - differential
Speed Skill 101 - weight reduction
Escape Skill 48 - weight reduction

Level 44 Parts:

Scramble Skill 64 - fuel injection
Race Line 99 - fuel injection
Slalom Skill 61 - brakes
Slalom Skill 66 - air system

Level 43 Parts:

Speed Skill 96 - fuel injection

I have those lower level parts on the list because some of the 45's can be more than a little difficult for some specs.

If you wanted gold in the final 5 levels, probably going to be the hardest. Since smart look starts giving minor bonuses to your car. (I think if you don't have the perks to get the car up to a full 1299 it would be like gold parts for level 50) Don't know if that works or not.

But they haven't changed anything about this though right?
Yes. They added smart loot. Which is ****.

Use to take an hour on a bad day to level your car to near 1299 without spending a cent.

Nearly killed the game by making it into a long grind (aka games I can't play), hence why I haven't jumped on that Wild Run deal.

Wow. Tbh i didn't notice that until now.

Can someone give me a picture of a map with all the landmarks and data stations? Struggling to find the last couple on the map.
