What's the Legendary Skills feature? The link above doesn't explain what it is.

If you've got any skills levelled up to 100 you have the option of making them legendary which resets the skill to 15, gives you back your perk points for that skill and removes the level cap at 81.

There's been a lot of confusion as to why you'd want to do this but it's fairly simple. It basically means you can gain more magica/health/stamina for your character as well as even more perk points. You can also Legendary a skill more than once which is good because certain skills are easier to level than others. You might want to be careful, for example, if you decided to go Legendary on Destruction since it will strip you of your power until you've built it up again.

I thought I'd take the safe route and am presently levelling up Illusion, Conjuration, and Sneak - all easy to do. I'm already at lvl. 84 and able to put perks in skill trees I couldn't touch before since I was limited to my sneaky archer build.

Hope that clears it up some!

I just picked up the "Legendary Edition" of this, which includes Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn, for the XBOX. According to the back of the box, it also has, "...added features like Legendary skills, new combat cameras, and mounted combat."

I've only played this a little at a friend's house, because I figured this version would come out eventually. I'm looking forward to losing a bunch of hours I could have been doing something constructive playing this.

I really enjoyed my 100 hours with the game and would have liked to have tried the dlc but considering my copy was for PS3 by the time the dlc came out I was over the game. Also, I don't feel Bethesda really deserve my money taking into account their treatment of their PS3 customers :/ .

I want to play Skyrim but I've also played Fallout 3 and New Vegas, and i know that Bethesda games on PS3 can freeze, and be laggy and jumpy.

How does Skyrim works on PS3, did you had any problems like with video frame rates, or did game freezes and you had to reset PS3?

Silly question: are there spiders in this game?

I'm looking for an epic RPG, and Skyrim is at the top of my list (followed by Witcher 2). But I absolutely hate spiders, and I don't want to get a nasty surprise if I buy the game.

Yes. There are giant spiders in skyrim. Having said that, I'm also extremely arachnophobic and while the spiders in skyrim creep me out, they never scare me to the point where I want to stop playing.

If I recall correctly, there is a mod that removes them. But you would need the PC version for that.

It is epic game but mine most concern is that this game is based on Fallout 3 Engine so, does any one who played on PS3 experienced any game freezes or sudden video frames dropped ??

It isn't too bad now, when it came out Skyrim on PS3 was a mess and the subject of great scrutiny on Bethesda from PS3 owners. I am surprised you haven't heard about that ?. Basically we got the dlc very late, Bethesda barely communicated and we got patches later when we needed them the most, a huge number of PS3 players couldn't play the game past a certain stage it was so bad.

Anyway they have fixed it up a lot since then, enough for me to say it is worth a purchase on PS3 :) . I am at 100 hours played and it runs well. It is much better than Fallout: New Vegas (I had a ton of lag issues with that game).

It will still freeze very occasionally and get a bit laggy at times but it doesn't happen often enough to be affect the overall experience :) .

Yeah, when the game came out there was a problem where if your save game became too big (and it did quickly) the game would have terrible frame drops and would be unplayable in the snowy areas (for me at least).
They fixed that now, but there still are some frame drops from time to time. Most notably when riding a horse and the game needs to load the world quicker.
I think it's still a game worth a play though as I had around 130 hours on it without the DLC.

Right now there is Skyrim Legendary edition with all those DLC available with the game. So i was interesting in buying but i have to as firs how this game works on PS3.

Fallout 3 and New Vegas both are the best games I've ever played in my life, better than any Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, wipeout and Gran Turismo, even despite those freezes issues and video frames loss, still best games. :)

Thank you for replying ill be definitely buying this game next.

So anyway, I've just discovered that there is a hack out there to convert a PS3 save to PC and I know the PC version is good for bypassing buggy quests (of which I have two), various mods, etc and for a few quid I'm tempted by doing that.

Has anyone else done this or know how successful this conversion is? Is it 100% as I don't want to buy the PC version if I know my save won't work on it.

Well, I thought there might be some mods worth using. I have a couple that are pretty good like Climates of Tamriel and Amazing Follower Tweaks, all totaling 54.

Well I did get the game on PC only a few days ago, so I'm probably not the best person to ask, but I focused on better visuals and graphics. So that's retextures, more flora better skies, better water, better snow, etc. If you're using the steam workshop I suggest using the nexus mod manager instead as it allows you to easily access much more mods than are available in the workshop and it allows you to change the load order for these mods.
I do suggest checking out this site. Some really quality mods on there.

You can also combine Nexus and Workshop mods quite easily, I find Workshop mods are easier to install and keep up to date while allowing decent (uncapped) download speeds as well. Workshop is also rarely down/overloaded like Nexus is every sale. Nexus does however usually have more support for more complex mods. Ultimately they all get dumped in the load order one way or another and can be moved around.

Skyrim Script Extender is a must have for more complex mods and custom quests, I initially needed it for an ENB graphics overhaul which is worth it if your can run Skyrim on max easy enough to begin with.

Youtube and other websites have best of Skyrim mods everywhere which might be worth looking at, just try to ignore the one's which are aimed at sexualising female NPC's (though there is a mod out there which makes them have more natural faces).

I just started a new character. I'm trying my best to not level up archery. So far I only allow myself to use the bow if I'm trying to shoot the ceramic flammable pots or minor quest-related things like that.

I have to admit I did cheat on that rule yesterday. I shot a dragon off its perch to get it to come after me. I wanted to kill it before going after the dragon priest (Krosis) right next to him.

Going full sneak, light-armor, and dual-wielding one-handed weapons for this playthrough. It's fun. This is my second character. First one was a super cheap Mage/Archer so I want to fight more enemies up close instead of just picking them off from a distance like I had been.

Speaking of archery. My first TES game was Oblivion and I had it for the PS3 (Awesome game). Anyways, I always thought how badly it needed an auto-target feature... enter Skyrim and the fact that I now had a job and a PC. Wow, it feels so amazingly rewarding being able to hit NPCs on the run / dragons using nothing but the mouse. No aiming assistance of any kind. It's awesome.

Whew its been a LONG time since I played this game. Decided to get into it again last night. I am at the beginning of the Dragonborne dlc. Supposed to find the Temple of miraak but have no idea where to begin. So for now I am completing side missions. Completed the bloodblade mission.

I finished the questline. I'm guessing your character is pretty strong? I said this because the latter half of the quest gets very rough.

It WAS very strong back when I was wearing heavy armor. I was also playing on the hardest difficulty. But after my heavy armor hit 100 I decided to go with light armor. Now its been a bit more difficult. I have been dying quite a bit more and saving every 2 - 5 minutes. haha My light armor is now 125 so I might switch back to heavy armor for these quests. Not sure yet.

I REALLY need to level up my smithing. It's level 63ish at the moment, but I'm needing to forge about 30 iron daggers just to go up one level. To get to the top it's going to take a lot of gold and a lot of time.

Any other tips for levelling up?

It's been a while since I was smithing, however, IIRC with the right alchemy skills and ingredients you can boost your smithing skills and hence level up faster.

I set myself the goal of taking out a Legendary Dragon with a singe blow when playing on Legendary difficulty, and this required extraordinary smithing and alchemy skills as well as weapon skills. Eventually got there with one arrow, and later with a dagger in each hand.

This is what makes me think that alchemy is helpful in improving the rate of smith leveling.

You could just cheat and download a blacksmithing supplies mod, if you're not feeling like the grind of leveling your blacksmithing. If I'm honest that is what I started doing after the second character.
