I would've liked to have Midfield on the list. El Kickmybutt....not so much (my own lack of patience for braking points).

More Mustangs = a good thing. Didn't someone post a now-removed video of their Mustang being started in the garage? Is that particular Mustang on the car list? I don't see it!? Maybe someone could point it out to me. I got really excited when I saw the video.

Bugatti, Suzuki Swift, I think all cars deserve to be in GT5 as Premium cars. But in the end it will take too long of a time to have 1000 cars. Thats why we have GT6 for.

Hey guys, first time poasting in the rage thread, so go easy!

Number one, why the hell would a video game have a pants-wettingly good photo mode...with all kinds of super cool (read:f'n useless) camera switchy things....and I get to take pictures of my 1992 Honda Civic with HUBCAPS?!?! Someone needs to explain that to me. When does Gran Photo-ismo come out?

Second, please please please PD, give me a freaking 1989-1994 Suzuki Swift!!! I've owned more of these cars than I have toes and all I get is a 07-07 econo-box. I can drive a flippin kubblewagonwhateveritsnameis with a pristine dash....I could drive 34 different Skylines, but I can't drive a Swift! (at least, a real Swift)

Third, release the damn game when it's finished next time!!! Betcha this thing was nearly wrapped up since 2008, but Sony made PD wait for 3D TV and other nonsense. Where are all the modern cars?? I see there is no Ford Mustang 5.0L, why the heck is that not in the game? Instead, a 2007 model? What the....

I've ridden in a couple 1000hp cars, Evo...Supra....Integra. Yeah, they're fast. Ya know what else, though? They have crappy handling, they lose traction with a sneeze on the throttle (this isn't NHRA we're playing here) they overall suck at doing anything but going fast in a straight line. Give me another premium Ferrari, or a premium FF car....forget the Veyron.

No one wants a damn Suzuki Swift, get your damn priorities straight. Cars like the MC12, CCXR, Ultima GTR, Zenvo ST1, SSC Ulimate Aero are totally missing and so are majority of the companies as a whole. Think you really need to think about giving PD any suggestions. No one wants another car that goes 0-60 in 10 seconds... PASS!

Could someone with 100+ posts make an official "I'm canceling my preorder because:" thread where we can sign and list our reasons.

That would be much more likely to be read by polyphony as it hits them in the pocket book.

Realistically though people who do not have access to this forum are going to buy the game based on the reputation and experiences with the previous titles, be disappointing but unable to return the game and thus polyphony won't feel the financial impact until they release GT6 which I suspect many people will be reluctant to buy after this debacle.

My personal grips are:

GT has always been ground breaking, the way in which performance parts were done in gt1/2 was amazing for it's time. All the other racing games had no modifications or settings allowed, just here is your car go drive it, while gt1/2 allowed you to truly tune your car how you wanted too.

This release is not groundbreaking on any front except photo-realism of 1/5th the cars and better sounds. In fact, the features greatly lag behind racing games of this generation, especially in my favorite area: customization.


Other random failures based on the leaked copy thread:

- The "track editor" is a joke and is just a random track GENERATOR with limited user input; adjust the sliders see what the ps3 decides to spit back at you.

- You cant even change the wheels on a standard car, really I mean come on. This is a step BACKWARDS

-The damage is a joke, running into a wall at 200mph should put you out of a race not produce a minor ding on the front of your car, ps2 era games had more convincing damage.

- Nascar is in the game........ ..

- tuning options the same/ downgraded from previous version. We get the same 3 stage upgrades we've had since gt1, nothing new, except now we can't upgrade brakes, which also means brake fade is not in the game.

-No livery, really this should be standard by now. It's not even a hard feature to implement

- Painting cars is limited to the colors they came in from the factory.



I'm going to wait and see if all of this is true or if the leaked copy's are nerfed in some way before I purchase the game. If the game is as limited as the leaked copy's suggest it is I will not be purchasing it.

I haven't seen any evidence of this but if it is, will not be altogether surprising since games do tend to come out in the UK on a Friday. However, I don't think that is the case in the rest of Europe and until there is some kind of official confirmation, it's still the 24th, as it says on the GT5 EU website, as it says on Wikipedia, as it says on Amazon.co.uk etc.

the official gt5 swedish site is the worst updated piece of crap ever, release date, still, nov 2010. on top of that, with the exception of the x1 prototype news, the latest news they updated is E3! I mean, what in the WORLD were they thinking!?

It's not like a 2 week or 2 month delay. It would only be 2 days but as I said, until I see confirmation somewhere, I'm still sticking with the 24th.

Well, I spoke to the guys in the chat room and they said it's only applicable to Germany, so we should be ok 👍

As for the UK website, the last bit of news before the car & track list announcement, was Red Bull X1. Before that, it was E3, I think lol

Well, let's hope it's just germany that gets the 2 day delay then, who knows, maybe the whole game had to be dubbed into deutsch (german) like all movies hehe!

I've checked various sources and they all say GT5 will be released on the 24th in the UK. One said the release date will be the same for the US and UK, the 24th. Funnily enough, they didn't specify whether that was for the EU as a whole, only the US and UK. Sony apparently confirmed without a shadow of a doubt (if that means anything)
