+1 👍

There are a few 2 faced people around here it seems. 1 day they die hard GT fans, next day they couldn't care less. I say to them, if you can do a better job with GT5 then please go ahead 👍

True! I'd like to see them render even ONE car with all the detail and attention that PD have given the Premiums. Even 200 cars, with this insane detail, boggles my mind. I'm sure that 950+ cars with this detail is impossible unless you want a full decade of waiting.

Besides, all the improvements they've made - day/night cycle, dust/dirt accumulation and smoke effects, the insane graphics, improved physics - COMPLETELY OVERSHADOW the entire cockpit issue. Giving up all these great improvements simply because a vast majority of the cars don't have an interior view? Well, it's your opinion, and your money, but you're still insane, and you're gonna be missing out...!

Im guessing its another case of GT3, but with upscaled GT2 cars included. Not bad thinking PD, however it would have probably been better to tell us we'd only get 200 cars then surprised us, or just explain this whole process since the start.

What is with all the un-sympathetic rude members? "Oh I don't use cockpit view anyway, you're all just a bunch of immature cry-babies". Get a grip people, some people have only ever used cockpit view! They've taken away a major aspect of the game for us cockpit view users.
Oh, and look at all the fanboys going "Of course PD couldn't model all the interiors, that would take too much time blah blah blah". Look at Forza, LOOK AT IT! They've modelled some 500 cars, every single one with perfectly fine interiors, on top of creating a fully fledged game with countless features, in half the time it's taken PD to create GT5. Easy to sling insults at the people who are upset when you don't sit back and look at the whole picture. Nobody would be raging if dynamic time was never included, or damage, or roll-over, etc etc.

That's pretty impressive, since Prologue and GT5 are the only GT games with a cockpit view at all.

Forza has five hundred cars. GT5 has 1000. It's easy to see where Polyphony might have had to sacrifice some of the interiors, given the load of new features they themselves are introducing. And while it might have taken Turn 10 half the time to put Forza out than it's taken PD to get GT5 lined up, did Turn 10 spend two years building a circuit from scratch the way Polyphony have with Madrid and Rome?

Easy to sling insults at the people who are upset when you don't sit back and look at the whole picture.
And it seems to be very easy for the upset people to overlook the sheer amount of work that has clearly gone into GT5. Nobody ever promised them 1000 cars with fully-rendered interiors, and I don't think the likes of Kaz cut the remaining 800 unless he absolutely had to. I'm not saying blind praise is the only form of acceptable currency around here, but I think it's bloody rude of people to get worked up and upset over a video game like this. It's not the end of the world, but some people are sure as hell treating it like it is, and they give the rest of us a bad reputation as whiners in the process.

I'm willing to bet that if Polyphony added 1000 interiors to the game but cut dyanmic time and damage and all that other stuff, the forums would come alive with criticisms. There's just no pleasing people, and I can only come to the conclusion that no-one here is happy unless they have something to bitch about. Seriously, when has PD ever deleivered a poor-quality game? When have they ever given us a game that would have been so bad that if you threw up on it it would be 100% better? PD have a remarkable reputation for consistently producing games of exceptional quality, but as soon as people recieve news they don't like - be it the lack of interiors, delays in the release schedule or even if GT5 isn't the first game to be demonstrated at an expo - they're willing to forget the fact that PD have never let us down. It's insulting.

So much for it being "The Real Driving Simulator" and all the bull dust about it being "genre defining".

I've also become used to cockpit cam in Prologue and it's all I ever use, as it gives the game a more realistic look whilst driving the cars. But never mind.. it's not our loss. I mean I'm not going to spend even more money on an Xbox and get Forza.. because I don't want that, it doesn't interest me.

What an absolute, utter epic failure. Gran Turismo Flop is here!

Can't really be sorry for you guys. If you really can't see past this "setback" and it really overshadows all good in the game (as it seems so for quite many of you crying in this thread), you should really think about this a moment. It's a sad life you're living if that's the way you feel.

Well pardon us for being car fans when we buy racing games, it's the cars themselves we're interested in, not sight-seeing the pretty back-drops around the tracks.

Quoted for insane truth. Awesome post.

What an absolute, utter epic failure. Gran Turismo Flop is here!

Well, if you think that way, then why do you keep posting here? What is your personal gain from spewing crap about GT here? Waste of time. Go outside, chum, there are far more important things in life.

By the by, if your opinion on GT5 if an "epic failure", why do you have The Stig from the trailer as your avatar?

From earlier in the week, or so:

Everything looks amazing. You bloody ripper! I'm excited and I've marked November 2nd on my Calandar. Was hoping for an earlier release but I am not complaining. This is all fantastic, everything I wanted to see and hear and read is all there. Great. 👍

Now this is him when he finds out that 800 cars wont have interiors:

So much for it being "The Real Driving Simulator" and all the bull dust about it being "genre defining".

:lol::lol::lol:

Okay. That's nice. I see you've clearly made a mistake so I'll correct you.

The first quote with all the positive praise towards PD was before I found out that 800 cars won't have an interior.

I am now calling them a failure since I have found out that 800 cars do not have interiors.

Make sense? I was looking forward to seeing all cars with interiror.

and just realised that I'm wasting my time here.

That's pretty impressive, since Prologue and GT5 are the only GT games with a cockpit view at all.

I've spent 2 years playing Prologue non-stop, Gran Turismo is not just some game I play passing by, it's a hobby.

Forza has five hundred cars. GT5 has 1000. It's easy to see where Polyphony might have had to sacrifice some of the interiors, given the load of new features they themselves are introducing. You're not listening at all like you usually do! I don't care about those features. They have IMO wasted time creating these other circuits and features, time that should have gone into cars. Oh, and Forza have created a number of pretty tracks of their own.

And it seems to be very easy for the upset people to overlook the sheer amount of work that has clearly gone into GT5. Nobody ever promised them 1000 cars with fully-rendered interiors, and I don't think the likes of Kaz cut the remaining 800 unless he absolutely had to.

We were promised 1,000 cars though, and they kept promoting GT5 with wonderful screens and videos conveniently only ever using premium models. They also conveniently never mentioned until now that 80% of the cars wouldn't get the interior view or look quite as good.

I'm willing to bet that if Polyphony added 1000 interiors to the game but cut dyanmic time and damage and all that other stuff, the forums would come alive with criticisms. PD HAVE let us down in the past! What, you think muscular V8s sound like buzz boxes do you? Because that's sure how GT games passed have portrayed them. I'm sure this will still be a great game, no doubt, but this sudden slap in the face is bound to cause protest and people like you will have to accept that fact.

Edit: Also, @ EJRocky, what kind of poor soul comes to a thread dedicated for complaints to make fun of the people making complaints about something they have EVERY damn right to be annoyed by? Pack your bags and get out of the thread if that's all you're bring to the thread.

It's not a fail nor flop. It brings so much content to the table, that cockpits are only 10% or less of the game, and i can live with that, even though i prefere driving from cockpit view. But the lack of 800 cockpits want alienate me from enjoying GT5 to it's full potential. for example. Forza 2 doesn't have cockpit view, but it does something much better then Forza 3 (which has cockpit view), changing muffler changes sound of car, 5.1. surround much better then in Forza 3, and i still enjoy it as much as Forza 3. The same is with gt5, i will drive all cars, play online and do every single thing that it can offer me.

Yes, I know all that.

I just find it totally laughable that you go "OMGz GT5 is gonna be so so so amazing!@!!!" in the first quote, but then, when you find out about 800 of the cars having no interior, you call it a massive flop and an epic failure. Simply because the cars don't have any guts and ONE CAMERA VIEW is going to be excluded, completely ignoring all the amazing improvements that PD has made elsewhere.

You amaze me.

That one camera view can drastically change how some people perceive their immersion in the game, why are you still posting in this thread?
Edit: And NO, you don't have EVERY DAMN RIGHT to cyber bully other people.

HAHAHAHAH

Bunch of whiners. Even got a dedicated thread for whining, how dispitful is that.

The true Gt fans don't care about 800 cars without interior.

GT is best for the physics and the cars.

If you want realism you wouldn't drive in interior view.
Realism = driving with a topnotch wheel
And then having 2 wheels sets infront of you is not really realistic.

I love that they add wheater, day/night, headlights,... rather than cockpitview

But continue whining and then call yourself a gt fan
Bulloks

Well considering I'm not a 24/7 video game freak, Instead I'm a dedicated car enthusiast and when a video game comes along with the words "The Real Driving Simulator" plastered all over the front cover, I expect it to be pretty much that. If Flight Simulator had no cockpit view.. you'd be wanting to know why wouldn't you? It's the same principal and also false advertising.

We're not whining, Simply making a point. Also its "weather" and cockpit view are 2 words. ;)

Also, Realism means that the damn car needs to have an interior view to make it 100% realistic.

Definition of the word Realism:
The representation in art or literature of objects, actions, or social conditions as they actually are

OK, I've mealowed out now, had a quick break and am happy to accept GT5 will still be excellent. I'm sad to see cockpit not included on so many cars, but there's always the possibility of DLC. I hope there is a bonnet view with a rear view mirror...... No more epic raaaaaage from me, but I still think the people criticising the ragers are ten fold more pathetic.

I'll use from now until November to think about whether or not I still want the game. If PD can come up with something that I'm happy with then I'll buy it.

For example: If some Aussie cars are included in the Premium cars then I'll lean more towards getting it. And if there's any V8 Supercars in premium I'll probably buy the game.
Personally I'm doubting dlc but.. you never know. Maybe they'll do an Aussie Premium car pack. ;)

Do you really think a big enterprise like Sony/PD release a PATCH called "DLC" for the cockpits? i dont think so, i like there said "Ok we 🤬 up with the premiun/standart thing, we gonna fix that"

NO

I 100% agree with you last line.

And here we go:

Why in the name of 🤬 God you Kaz want to ultra-zillions of cars!!! when the usually games have almost 100, and FORZA have almost 500.

I dont want diferent treatens for diferent vehicles, ALL CARS MUST HAVE THE SAME TREATMENT FOR GOD SAKE!!!!!

Tnx to the OP.

FAIL.. simple as that. No matter what, 5.5 years was long enough for them to do better. And yes why Forza can have 400 interiors? Maybe PD should stop modelling every single screw
