German F3 was significantly better then it was in the 2000s though.

Because there was no European F3 championship this was essentially the next best thing after British F3.
The fact that Schumacher was up front in Macau solidifies my point.

My money is on them changing the team name entirely but keeping the majority of Force India sponsors as Vijay Mallya said he's going no where.

I would love the car to be in that classic metallic sage colour AM use and have all the sponsors in an off white colour. Heritage style

Mmmm, yes.

I think the current Force India colours are bland. Absolutely hate looking at them. Some green would spice up the TV images but I don't think they can get 7Up back as a sponsor.

They've had Quaker State as a sponsor, maybe working their shade of green into it somewhere would be nice (though that would probably qualify as a major livery change which IIRC they can't do during the season anymore).

They can with approval, as I understand it. I guess that's to stop frivolous changes.

Mmm no, I'm with @prisonermonkeys on the inherent blanditude.

Besides, surely that would draw an inevitable-and-probably-unwanted comparison?

BRG is BRG, awesome no matter which British company it is affiliated with.

They'll probably go for something mildly gulf liveries, with the light blue and orange.

There's no real BRG, it's often darker shades nowadays but really any green racing paint can be called that if they wish. I suspect the lighter shade is closer to the "original" shades.

Gulf livery would look very cool...! :D

Honestly I think a lot of the iconic racing liveries don't really work on F1 cars, given the obvious limited and oddly shaped bodywork. I mean the Martini Williams is ok but it's not a patch on any of the old sports cars.

If it goes ahead and they intend to use blue, then I at least hope that they use light blue. Dark blue is over-used. And light blue is really the only way to separate it from Toro Rosso and Sauber.

Along with Napier, ERA, BRM, Vanwall, Cooper, Lotus, and, Caterham... Some bad company there, but lots of race winners in there too.

I think it's actually the darker shades of BRG that are closer to the original Napier race cars, which established the colour. ERA also used lighter shades, but Aston Martin's take on BRG was unique really. I always find it cool when national racing colours find their way back somehow, despite the existence of sponsorship logos now.

Blue and gold could be nice indeed if was a pearl blue perhaps.

Probably the best thread for this... Susie Wolff is to retire from motorsport to concentration on Women in Racing initiatives. BBC.

She didn't have the talent or bank balance either in my opinion... I'm all for women in motorsport and aiming for the top, but they shouldn't be placed there based on gender alone. I was disappointed that Williams wasted young driver test days giving her track time rather than the real hopefuls out there deserving of that time, and were actually younger than the senior race drivers...

I do hope her experience though will make strides with her future work in getting women into Formula 1 in the near future.

If Rossi isn't with the team next year, it'll be an even bigger joke considering Stevens is worse than Rossi.

That car is a purely money seat and has next to nothing to do with talent shown though, we all know this.
Rossi's best bet would be to get the same seat for next year and hope to continue his destroying of stevens to get something better for 2017.

Given that it looks like the owner of Manor has pissed off everyone in the team to resign, I'll assume its going to be worse next year even with current mercedes engines.

Palmer does deserve a lot more credit than you give him. You can't be a terrible driver if you've won the GP2 title. Yes I am taking Pantano, Maldonado and Valsecchi into consideration too.

His Wikipedia career summary makes for very depressing reading as well. GP2 was the first time since T Cars that he raced a series not run by his dad... and also the first series he won after T Cars. He drove for 5 different teams across his 4 GP2 seasons as well, so a lack of loyalty or playing the blame game each year?

I just read that too... he hardly set any series on fire. Admittedly he won GP2 eventually so he deserves consideration for an F1 seat. From hereon in he needs to let his driving do the talking. Personally I think it's going to say "meh". Or "waaaah!".
