The FIFA Bribe Scandal...

Someone has been doing triple shifts at the rumour mill.

Sepp Blatter's former lover was Cristiano Ronaldo's ex-girlfriend Irina Shayk.

Incidentally, police are currently investigating payments made to CONCACAF

From what I've read there's not much to be investigated.
$450K was donated to CONCACAF Jack Warner for some sort of 'feasibility' study, seems pretty cut and dry.
But of course our bid was clean, just ask Frank Lowy.

And she was even younger...

On another note the FA have ruled out hosting either World Cup if Qatar and Russia loose them. That's a shame, if anything because our logo was awesome!

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - At the first screening of FIFA-funded film "United Passions" in Los Angeles the week after U.S. prosecutors charged several officials of world soccer's governing body, only two people attended - one out of curiosity, the other as a soccer fan.

The 2014 French film, starring British actor Tim Roth as FIFA president Sepp Blatter, had an estimated budget of 24 million euros ($27 million), of which FIFA officials have acknowledged providing about 20 million euros.

The film, which explores the 111-year history of FIFA, attempts to show the organization as a force for good while also hinting at corruption and embezzlement without delving into it.

The opening Friday on demand in the United States and in limited theaters coincides with a scandal rocking world soccer after prosecutors unsealed indictments on May 27 in a case involving $150 million in bribes over 24 years. Blatter announced on Tuesday that he would resign.

Francisco Carrillo, 62, said he came to the midday showing of "United Passions" at the North Hollywood's Laemmle theater, the only one in Los Angeles showing the film, because he is a fan of soccer, popular in his home country, Mexico.

"I like the World Cup, and the rules of soccer," he said. Carrillo said he had followed the scandal but came just for "entertainment."

Freelance sports writer Alex Goot, 31, said he was curious to gauge interest in the film.

"Even before the scandals and indictments unfolded, I wondered, who is the audience for this story? Even dedicated fans aren't going to care about FIFA in the boardroom," he said.

U.S. distributor Screen Media Films did not respond to requests for comment on Friday on why it chose to release the film at this time.

Goot said people who went to watch the film amid the scandal would not find much enlightenment in it.

"It feels very strange," Goot said. "It's not a movie presenting any true history."

Directed by French filmmaker Frederic Auburtin and also starring Gerard Depardieu and Sam Neill, "United Passions" has failed to win the praise of critics.

The New York Times reviewer Daniel M. Gold called it "one of the most unwatchable films in recent memory, a dishonest bit of corporate-suite sanitizing that's no good even for laughs."

Jordan Hoffman of British newspaper The Guardian called the film "a disgrace" and "excrement."

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahaha

There is a thread up and running about that with a trailer ^, it looks god awful

A movie about the FBI investigation might be interesting tough...

Certainly better than the 2012 Olympic Games logo ...

The World Cup one is clever and had a great balance between being modern and evoking some heritage. I could have seen that as the final logo rather than just the bid logo.

The Olympics one was a train wreck and we paid £400,000 for it! The agency must have been laughing all the way to the bank.

The Beeb has found evidence that $10,000,000 from FIFA accounts earmarked for aiding development in South Africa was embezzled by Jack Warner after being routed through a domestic supermarket chain. Warner still insists that he is innocent and is being set up and will tell everything "soon" (but when has so far remained unaddressed).

He has to unburn all of the FIFA records he claimed to have burned first...

Which makes me think he actually innocent. I have a hard time accepting that a man displaying this level of intelligence could conceive and execute a ten million dollar fraud without an organisation wracked by corruption noticing.

I agree but it doesn't make him less guilty. Just makes you wonder how this person became a part of FIFA brass. Was there an aptitude test he had to pass or was it merely to state you don't take bribes with your fingers crossed behind your back as you uttered the statement.

Though I'm assuming that would have held true regardless.

His position is untenable. But this is a dictatorship so whether any change is forthcoming is a total crapshoot.

Maybe he'd reconsider his reconsideration if the US can directly link him to the corruption.

There is a suggestion that he will come back as no outstanding candidate to take over....

....also, y'know that rubbish movie they made on FIFA, it took just $379 in its opening weekend in the US...

Little Swiss rat who couldn't tried to sneak his way back into the next election, by not confirming nor denying if he would run again and saying that he didn't step down yet.

But the FIFA, most likely finally sick of his ridiculous shenanigans, stepped in by saying that Blatter will not be running at the next election.

The Spanish Proliga LFP has started a case against FIFA because of the 2022 WC being held in the winter.

They say their clubs will miss out on a lot of revenue because of the tournament being held in November and December.

Platini is being told to stand for the FIFA Presidency. He is just as much of a 🤬 and he is just as bent as Blatter if not more should someone do some digging. Platini voted for Qatar.

Get Figo on the ballot.
