I told you Gym was bat:censored: insane. 
The politician(s) were attempting to control Gym as he's pretty one-dimensional, although as they came to find out he's far too witty (for an insane person) to be controlled by anyone but his desire to kick ass (and chew bubblegum?). I'll also assume you now know why when it comes to super mecha match-ups, the Turn A and X are the "go-to" mobile suits.
I'll bet any amount you had no idea why Wing 0 (and a bunch of others I can't remember) popped up?
I'm free for like, the next 45 minutes; I wonder if I should do an MSotD this late?

Yeah, a bunch of stuff I (kind of) recognized when they played back the Dark History. After War Gundam X is next on my list. I really wanted Turn A to be at least an 8/10, and I think it could have been a 9/10, but the last 5 eps or so just didn't quite wrap it up very well...

You might want check if there's any manga covering the finish. Gundam X is a good choice 👍. Has good op and ed songs. Tifa pwns any other gundam girl. hmm... I need to rethink that.... I put her behind Haman

I can't wrap it up as nicely as I'd like to as I haven't seen Turn A in a while, well, the entire thing anyway, but what I can do is make the whole Dark History thing a bit clearer.
In the official timeline, Seireki (Correct Century) begins where UC ends (approximately U.C. 0225, there or thereabouts), but there's an interregnum of about one-thousand years as CC officially begins in 2225, and during that period the Turn A, I forget exactly what happened, but it activated Moonlight Butterfly and engulfed the entirety of Earth, throughout space, and Jupiter - thus turning any and basically all technology to sand. Hence the rather dystopian nature of the series. With only an estimated 5% of it's power. 5.
Now, while CE/CC takes place in it's own universe, it acts as a waypoint (much like X) to the previous series' (Z, ZZ, Gundam W, X, etc), and it may even encompass 00 and AGE.
...I've probably made things worse.

By the way, T-12... I've officially dropped Gundam Ball Z. I won't take its god-awfulness to be representative of Gundam in general, so I'll definitely give Gundam another shot in the future.
That now means I'll be watching Ergo Proxy, which I've heard good things about. I'll probably wait until I get farther into Clannad After Story and Wolf's Rain before I start digging into it though.

Can't say that I blame you though as I came close to flipping it off myself, but even though I didn't I was still all

I don't get offended if you don't like something, unless you use the basis of that one experience to judge the entirety of the meta series as a whole. In which case that's just ignorant and undeniably stupid.

Well, that's just me, but it's hard to say since they're different. I didn't mind Stein's physics, which you objected to, and besides that SG was pretty well put together and animated I thought. And Clannad AS is awesome, but for me maybe a little too tear-jerky and then woops! just kidding (sorry to spoil, know you're not done yet...) But at any rate Wolf's Rain is a really special anime, better than either in my opinion.

What kind of cheese?
Even ignoring my objections to S;G's time travel mechanics, I didn't find the story to be all that remarkable. It was okay, and had a neat ending. But much like the original Clannad, it really kinda failed to make me care about the characters. Okabe and Kurisu were cool, but I could care less about the rest of 'em except for the attractiveness of a few.
When Mayuri got shot, yeah it was shocking. But I didn't really care about the fact that it was Mayuri who got shot. And then her subsequent repeat deaths... yawnfest. Such a cliche, and Steins;Gate isn't even one of the better stories involving that cliche. And then the characters having to undo the D-mails to be able to prevent Mayuri's death... yawnfest part 2. The stuff the characters had to undo... either it was so unbelievable that they'd so easily agree to undoing it (Feyris), or their reaction to having to undo it was silly (Ruka).

But a lot of folks have found S:G to be fairly enjoyable, including me, so just accept it yay-san, you're weird! Unless you give it a 7/10 or better, then you're close enough to normal to be okay.

I found it to be just that: Fairly enjoyable. Not greatly enjoyable, nor totally freakin' amazing. Just fairly enjoyable.
