So. For some reason, I am interested in checking out the Gantz anime. Has anyone here seen it? It sounds interesting/awesome from what I saw in Wikipedia, but before I go spending money I'd like to hear opinions about it.

Uhm, it's been a very long time since I watched Gantz. It's weird as far as I remember but I liked it. I suppose you already know about it's game-of-death style. It's quite good but would I spend money on it? Not really. But then again I don't spend money on anime.

Just to let you know also, the Blu-ray is definitely worth getting (Though there's a combo pack now that's cheaper it seems.). Here's a review on it.

I need to get the show sometime (I watched it subbed on Hulu.), and the movies (I heard they're not as good as the show.).

Because there's not really much anime licensed in Brazil?:P

It took like what, until 2008 for Naruto to get licensed there?

Well, honestly the main reason is I'm in the "internet is free" bandwagon but yeah, that's the reason why I don't even buy the shows I love.

I saw Gantz a while back, and I think you'll find it money well spent. I gave it a 9/10 at the time. Great style/animation quality, great messed up story, lots of disturbing violence. Not for the kiddies.

And EliteDreamer, keep watching One Piece, assuming you're caught up. Just an episode a week is easy, and if you're that far in why stop? And as you may have already noticed, these guys will mislead you just as much as help you along, quite a mischievous bunch.

Like Cano. Pfff on your don't watch Rurouni Kenshin series nonsense. Just because it's not your taste doesn't mean nobody will like it. And how many eps did you watch again? Not many? Well, then your opinion is at most half valid anyway!:P

Void point. It doesn't matter anything of the above if the stupidity is omnipresent in the entire series.

:lol: You're entitled to your opinion, however limited the information on which it is based, right? I feel the same way about Ouran HS Host Club, though many here love it.

Rurouni Kenshin isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea, but yes. Most people like it.

Also if he had gotten far as having watched the first 62 episodes (Season 1+season 2), he probably would be saying something different due to the Kyoto arc of season 2. There's a big reason why that's the arc they're remaking instead of stuff from season 3 (Entirely filler.), and season 1. On a side-note, IIRC, season 2 had the least amount of comedy, especially during the fight with Shishio, that was all serious business.

Though people have been complaining about them still not giving the Jinchuu arc (The arc after Kyoto as I've heard, the anime caught up too fast, so that's why season 3 is all filler.) of the manga a proper anime adaption.

Kinda dead in here.

Might as well mention that I got a late Christmas present, a Vizio E3D420VX. As the model number suggests, it's 42" as well as 3D. Not too bad for under $600...

A shame that I'll only get to use it for a few days, then it's back to San Diego for me. :grumpy:

I own all of it but so far have only seen the first 3 episodes. However a friend of mine has seen all of it and said the ending is weird because the manga was still going when they finished the show. I do want to watch it though. I also have the live action movie but I have no clue how good or bad it may be.

The live-action Gantz movie is cool, but it's very different from the show... the main character is made into a nice guy who tries to do the right thing, whereas he's a bit of an asshole in the manga/anime and frequently chooses not to take action even when he knows it would be the right thing to do.

Yes it is. Not to mention, thanks to it, I'm bored. I'm busy using my tags on MAL. I'm putting the year each anime started, so I can when I click on them see what shows from that specific year I've seen. 2011 so far is the biggest thing.

Kinda off-topic but, another TV at this point would be a complete waste of money for my family. We have at least one TV in literally every room, including the two bathrooms (I'm not s***ing you here.). So let's see here, there's like 11 TV's in this house.
 
Well, eventually when I get my own place, this TV will be my one and only.

But right now, there's 4 TVs in my house... 2 nice big HDTVs and 2 small-ish CRTs.

Remember when I said I had something planned months ago? This is it! Why did I wait so long? Well I figured it would be a way to celebrate Rykon's upcoming birthday by slapping kamina shades on everyone.

Other than that I'm done with reusing the same avatars so often. Time to move on.
