The manga goes a bit more in-depth into the story, but it's so ridiculous that frankly I'm not sure that it's a good thing.
Also there's this one ridiculously silly perverted moment in the manga... waaaaay over-the-top. It's great though.
Regarding past experience with kissing cousins... no, but I've got a few cousins I wouldn't hesitate to kiss, given the opportunity.

Meh...only kinda. I've done a brutally violent story series once. And have started another...plus I'm working on a novel that will contain some brutally violent scenes. I used to write about stuff like suicide and rape and stuff, but...Elfen Lied...I don't know...somehow having a character rip someone in half with her bare hands, or a character go on a human flesh eating spree, doesn't seem all that bad compared to the brutality of this series.
Also...Hell Girl was a pleasantly brutal and messed up series. Not anyways CLOSE to Elfen Lied but...still good.
