NGE question .
Rewatched the series again in japanese and after ep 26 there's a movie called End of Evangelion which is basically just two episodes put together.
Is that movie one of the three movies made of was it just something that came later ?
Ok, let's clarify. Episodes 25 and 25 of EVA are made-up stuff or something like that so the show could be shown in TV or some such nonsense. They don't count, for putting it in other words.
The
real ending for Evangelion, the one it's director, Hideaki Anno, intended for it, is in the movie called End of Evangelion, which substitutes episodes 25 and 26 in the show's chronological order and shows the real, all-out awesome ending.
The recent movies are called Rebuild and they are precisely that, a rebuild of the original Evangelion series with other characters and added stuff, and a lot of money.
So, you should have done it like this: watched the show's first 24 episodes, then watch the End of Eva movie to see the real ending and have your freaking mind blown away, then watch original 25 and 26 episodes just to satisfy your curiosity, and then watch the movies to see the rebuild of the Evangelion world.
But since you watched episodes 25 and 26 already, drop whatever the hell you're doing now and watch end of Evangelion. You MUST watch it if you really want to truly fathom what EVA is all about.
