Similar look to Einhander. But Einhander is cooler.

Has a single arm that can snatch weapons off enemy aircrafts and use it against them. In the game, the arm is also invincible to ammunition.

Me gusta "Deep Striker" gundam. It has everything to (win) survive a war. Advanced radar, heavy artillery cannon, fuel for days, I-field generator, and boosters for high mobility. Screw having to be carried by a salamis class carrier. It is the carrier .

Orchis would like a word with you.

That was easily one of my favorite games for the playstation.
Genuinely awesome, super crazy action, great graphics for the time, and awesome weapons. 👍 👍

Let me see if I can find some old pictures... Over a thousand pages back I posted some of my favorite mecha pictures, I doubt they are there any more. :(

Less then two week's and it will be 11 years of the general anime thread.
Had to take a look at the first post since someone in another thread was asking about everyone's earliest postings here on the gtp. Heck, I even saw someone went back and liked the post. 👍

I'm very happy to see it's been such a long time for such an awesome discussion. :D

My response to the end of Certain Song of a Pilot's Love's 4th episode:

YES! This is one hell of a good setup.

Are you talking about The Pilot's Love Song? If so, I would like to say that Man, that was a major plot twist!!!

Yes Pilot's Love Song, although the more accurate title is Certain Song of a Pilot's Love. The former is Crunchyroll renaming it on their own. But anyway, I feel kind of silly for not noticing the oddball of her character, but who in their right mind would've connected the two so easily? They didn't even have the same hair colour!

I hope it keeps something up because the show overall doesn't engage a strong interest. The end of it the pilot's goals don't seem solid and I'm having a hard time picturing some kind of ideal finale. Now that we know the twist of it all, it probably will end up in another hero-stubborn-boy-make-shy-girl-happy thing.

BREAKING -> Looks like the new Initial D Movie Trilogy (Legend 1 [of 3]) teaser trailer has been surfaced:

Initial D World
Avex Entertainment has just released a new 30-second promo/trailer for the New Initial D Movie 新劇場版「頭文字D」The release date is now confirmed to be Saturday 2014.8.23. Avex has also confirmed that the movie will be a "trilogy" that consists of three parts. This first part is called Legend 1: Awaken (覚醒)It is highly likely that it will be a readaptation of the beginning of Initial D First Stage that talks about how Takumi goes from uninterested in cars to very passionate in street racing.

I heard somewhere that the necklace she wears is the same before and after transforming. But I never noticed it so I'll probably have to go back to previous ep's to confirm. Either way it was a huge twist

I'm interested of how Kal will react once he finds out about her true identity. And you never know what'll happen. I think Kal won't let it slide that easily in spite of his crush on her, if he ever finds out

I think he will. If the writer is a sissy afraid of going against the tides of mainstream fans, the whole thing will be forgiven.

Personally I want to see some kind of dark end even though it may not fit well into the current context. Twist up the plot even more I say!

Aniplex USA is importing the third Madoka movie as expected.

You may want to wait first to see if Animate USA does anything special like they did with the recap movies, although I don't think there was any sort of English translation booklet with those.

Yeah, recent anime has become overly self referential and alarmingly paedophillic, to be honest. Although I've watched a few recent series, I can't say any were particularly outstanding other than Steins;Gate and Madoka Magica, although the combined quality of those two series kind of makes up for the sea of rubbish below them, and if Kill La Kill does all the right things it has a chance to join them.

From what I heard, however, Miyazaki's criticisms were more targeted at the animation though, with him feeling that too many anime were animated by shut ins who don't know how to draw people.

Catering to the masses has always been for the money.

The recycling of the same tropes, archetypes and stereotypes to the point of exhaustion is nothing surprising. What is surprising is how the masses never notice how stale things get - and still continue to support it. They don't realize they should take things in moderation for preservation's sake. Despite what people want to believe, everyone will get tired of something eventually.

When someone speaks up like how Miyazaki did, it's a sign they noticed this cycle and wanted to inform the public about it. I understand where he is coming from. Problems don't get addressed by ignoring it.
