A strong favouritism the way I'm perceiving it, but Cowboy Bebop didn't have many flaws in any department.

-------

Yep just let the guy hook himself up to have control of every kataphrakt they have and fire all at the same time...

Cool, but I'm always finding reasons to dislike how convenient his power is to Earth.

You know Cano's expressed the favoritism for a while now, right?

You're talking about Inaho?

Naaaa I'm talking about my uncontrollable urges when watching Idolm@sters

Who'd you think I was referring to? :P

I dunno. You could be talking about Marito, or Yuki. Or Lelouch. How'd you think Inaho got his cyborg eye from? Or his resolute capabilities?

Joking aside, Inaho might die or be seriously injured from using his cyborg eye, hence his pain after the battle was over.

He's definitely going to suffer death or unrecoverable damage by the end. It's a formula we're all too familiar with.

His cyborg eye is like the expendably common power-up card in any game's roster of weapons. Get a ton of super good power; easy to acquire, BUT comes with hefty consequences. "Can you live with it?"

Slaine's going to get himself killed too. He become's too focused on his dream that he lost sight of other things.

Not only is Slaine becoming blind, he's becoming full of himself now, hence Asseylum saying he's changed - changed for the worse.

I expect a finale fight between Slaine and Inaho before this season's over.

Asseylum disguising herself as her sister was a really good surprise for me. I thought it was only her sister who had such ability. I also was convinced it was the sister after she pointed a gun at Asseylum.

edit: Week 10. Okamoto Hazuki aka Okappa aka THE DEMON!

Okappa is from Plastic Nee-san. That's nee as in "neh", not "knee". We ain't talking no plastic cars. Show contains swearing. Main protagonist flips the finger once or twice, but it is gag comedy, so enjoy a laugh or two. Yyyyahoooo!

Finally got the nudge to go through all of my anime I've watched and rate them. Check it out here.

I kind of overrate things but I'm still new to all of this anime thing so I don't really have anything to judge it on.

That's more than a little close-minded, but okay ;)

It's not close-minded, it's true. Cowboy Bebop is cool. The rest of the anime shows, however good or better than Bebop they might be, are not cool, and the few that manage to be cool are not as cool.

A strong favouritism the way I'm perceiving it, but Cowboy Bebop didn't have many flaws in any department.

good or bad =/= cool.

I guess I'm uncool for not watching it.

Impossibly uncool.

Also, freaking Fio.

This thought hit me today: Parasite Eve (First game's story though) could do with an Anime Adaptation, a good one at that. Wonder which studio would crack it though...

For now, I'll leave this nostalgic track

And this....

I know for a fact it would have a good soundtrack if an Anime were to come about :D

I'm so otaku.

Otakus are obsessed with voice actors, soundtracks, artists and memorized many shows and characters, their names and how to properly pronounce them.

I have found myself being attached to the names of certain voice actors, listening primarily to soundtracks in my music library and saving images of uploaded artwork by illustrators whom I've followed or searched. I also have drawn fan art on top of that, have imaginary wives, can get nerdy with certain subjects when engaging in a discussion with others, and sporadically spout out random words in Japanese to myself to relieve the urge to say something.

I don't follow the local music trends, I don't watch any of the local TV programs, so there's little to talk about when I'm out with others. But at the same time, I don't sport any attire or merchandise that give the slightest hint I am a 'taku of some nature, minus the 3 figurines. I had at most 4 figures at one point, wished to own at least 10 others in the past, but now I don't really care.

How close are you to being a typical otaku?

Whoa man, are you alright?

I'm not having a mental breakdown if that's what you're wondering. At least, I don't think I am. :dopey:

I was just talking about how much I closed off from other social events and media I am these days.

Although the reason why the thought came to me is completely irrelevant, today it did because I've been getting a bunch of albums together of folk instruments, orchestras, as well as violin and piano solos, and I would love to share this with my dad. He likes this kind of music, and it's probably thanks to him that I was fortunate to grow a liking for orchestras and traditional instruments when I was little.

Basically, the thought stems from the anticipation that my dad would be slightly irritated the stuff I have came from of Japanese origin. The guy's one of those people that hold a grudge against current-Japan for the war crimes the Imperial Japanese Army committed, and it's really bothersome when he goes into his geezer hate mode. It's so stupid and it makes absolutely no sense to hold a dislike for the people of today, but that's why I haven't went to the trouble of explaining this any further..

I do not know if I am an Otaku, I enjoy the main Oriental Culture and being Asian myself is a plus.

RE and RE2 would be cool if they were a anime or OVAs.

I personally don't like joking around in that manner. I can see the humor in it but there's a limit to where it can go, if that makes sense

No no, that was my attempt to clear up any chance people think something is genuinely wrong with me. No jokes whatsoever.

@AOS-, do you go to any anime club meetings and/or conventions?

Never. I'd like to selfishly think I'm not missing out, but I can probably argue I am missing out on half the culture.

I've never attended a single school club, don't know where to find any info on it at any of the schools I've been to, and chances are, both club meetings and conventions are out of the way. Reasons why are likely a personal struggle within myself, which I don't have a problem sharing, but it's totally off-topic.

I think I'm pretty otaku.

I'm heavily into soundtracks, having a huge preference to listening to a soundtrack I enjoyed from an anime rather than the more mainstream songs. Songs from an enjoyable scene in an anime actually give me a good frame of mind as I associate that song with the particular scene. "Emotional Fire" by Denise gives a clear cut image of the introduction of the Sil80 vs. AE86 battle in Battle Stage, and more often than not I get inspired, which makes me happy.

If it's a soundtrack I particularly enjoy I will more often than not memorize the name of it and search up more from them, m.o.v.e is an example of this; currently one of my favourite artists at the moment. I also have most of Super Eurobeat's selections for Initial D. Initial D in general introduced me to a genre of music I wasn't familiar with, eurobeat, which is now a personal favourite of mine.

I haven't watched enough anime quite yet to appreciate a good voice actor, but there have been certain circumstances where I've enjoyed a particular character's voice, just finding it really satisfying to listen to. Nibutani is one of the characters that does it for me, the vocal projection and tone is just oddly satisfying to hear.

I make a personal point to memorize the names of the anime I watch, and my favourite characters as well. I make sure to memorize the names of the anime that way I can either recommend it to someone or the complete opposite. Characters is so I can reference them at a later stage, because well, they're my favourites. :P I definitely make sure to pronounce everything correctly, firstly due to not wanting to be a weeb, and secondly since I have an active interest in learning Japanese I try to take in as much as I can.

I haven't gone as far yet to have an active interest in specific illustrators, but I have developed an interest in the general style of anime, seeing myself randomly sketching typical anime eyes. Though, saying that, I do find Grisaia particularly pretty compared with other anime. Same with Chuunibyou.

I have folders of some folders of personal favourite characters and anime on my hard drive, for er... reasons. I've been planning to do some drawing of my favourite characters as well. Drew up the Initial D logo earlier in the year.

Common Japanese words are slowly making their way into my vocabulary. I find myself often calling people a baka to responding with hai, or even greeting people in Japanese. Though that's more due to me learning the language currently if anything.

After watching anime and listening to the wider variety of music Japan provides I've completely lost interest on today's TV and music trends, bar Top Gear and some artists respectively. Compared to the things Japan provides it feels dull, boring and much of a much lower quality, even compared to the 'decent' anime I've apparently watching. It just doesn't feel the same, and it just doesn't strike as entertaining any more when I can have far more entertainment from a ~half hour anime episode.

I have nothing to suggest I am any form of otaku whatsoever, but that's more due to me not really having any money. While I'm not going to be getting figurines (yet ), the occasional poster or shirt would be a nicety to have, as a cool way to express an interest while not coming over as overly obsessive.

Hmmmmm, I asked myself this the other day

The word 'weeaboo', I asked myself that too....

I think I'm pretty far from being an Otaku. While I do like the Japanese Cultures, cuisines, I especially love the cars, roads and heck I wanna visit the place some day (Turbos and Temples style), I'm not too deep into it I think. I'm not so much of fan of cosplays etc though I can appreciate them.

I love the Anime, soundtracks (Sawagi was in my area recently and I had a blast listening to em live, GO LISTEN TO THEM!!!), even just the legends and storytelling too.

I have uttered a few Japanese words along with my South African and Zimbabwean lingo but never have been motivated to learn the language. Heck I'm still learning Zulu lol

@SVX, I get what you mean about losing interest in the mainstream media. Except for Top Gear and a few other shows. A lot of peeps my age are heavy into mainstream and just look at being an otaku as being childish and weird. Which is sad really because they don't know what they're missing out on

I may get a few posters, MAY, and maybe a headbanD... A Kill La Kill shirt is definitely a must

Well, despite my name, I would like to think I'm just a general fan. Sure, I can get a little passionate about the animes I watch (especially if I'm talking to someone else), but I don't get too deep into it. I have some favourite VA's, some themes / songs I like, shows I like more than others, but all in all, I'm just a general fan.

Anime means something to me. It's not all about the fanservice, or the fancy art style, production values, etc., but to me it's the atmosphere and emotional attachments. This type of animation just does something to me that keeps me into it. As someone who grew up with Autism, I'm glad I have something I can go back to when I'm down.

To me, anime is all about Misato Katsuragi, obviously.
No, I don't know why her legs are so ridiculously long in this image either.

Oh, and the fact that there are a small select few anime whose names I have mentioned countless times before which easily rank amongst my favourite works.

But also Kaiki Deishu.

Depends on context. I was called a weeb by some friends learning Japanese after trying to say happy birthday to a friend (who also takes Japanese) in Japanese, which pissed me off. I'd say it's similar to calling someone a retard/moron/idiot/baka; it can be put both ways, but it just depends on context and the way it was intending to be taken.

Yup, and it's quite ironic in a sense, at least at my school, the people who think it's for weirdos and is immature are in fact immature themselves. 💡
