So for giggles I decided to look up my oldest post here in TGAT... Or at least the oldest one I could reasonably find.

(On the 4th of July? Seriously? I guess I had that day off from Super Fun Navy School, so it makes sense, but still...)

Well, I haven't watched Jyu-Oh-Sei since then, but I still stand by my opinion here. :P

Y'all should check it out if you haven't. It's nice and short. A bit too short, arguably... But it's still solid.

Oh, and feel free to look up your most ancient TGAT posts, too.
I rather not...I am embarrassed but I have improved in my posting style..Cano and Kent were there.

I will check it out. Does this series run in the same universe as Robotic Notes and Steins Gate?

Unlike two stories with different characters in the same universe, Index is world of magic vs science, and Railgun is literally a segment of the science.

Edit what I think is my oldest post:

i'm surprised i'm posting in this thread actually, the last anime I got hooked to was the 7th season of Inuyasha, and that was years ago. Not liking how I was obsessed, I magically stopped. Forgetting that history repeats itself, a friend showed off this one anime, i looked into it, got referred to another anime...: Kanokon.... an after I watched that, I watched both Rosario + Vampire series...

*Loves Ura Moka* (hence the avatar change in years)

I got so obsessed with it that going to work felt weird because I couldn't stop thinking that darn show. Luckily for me I think it's dying off now, because I'm now watching Omamori Himari, kinda similar to Rosario + Vampire....

Sounds about right. Got into anime for the ecchi, now I'm all serious about what I watch.

Remember, we can't publicly discuss piracy or torrents here.

Also, there is no bad dub of Akira, unless you're watching in Estonian. The official English dub is perfectly fine, even if they skip over the more esoteric philosophical parts.

-

If you're looking for deep story and cinematic action, Ghost in the Shell is a good place to start. If you're looking for an animated mind-🤬 that still runs basically like a movie but gives you more insight into the Japanese psyche, Perfect Blue or Paprika will tickle your fancy.

The story-telling in these is more linear, with fewer of the tropes and pitfalls of series-type anime.

-

You can also basically plunge into any Studio Ghibli film and feel right at home, as well, but these are mostly family movies, so don't expect any hardcore action, unless you're watching Princess Nausicaa or Princess Mononoke.

Oh, I didn't mean piracy. Sorry if you thought that. Thanks for the recommendations.

Some more Baker-sensei here.

Are all these "my first posts in TGAT" due to me coming here?

Perhaps, it sure sprouted a nostalgia feel in most people's minds... Nothing wrong with that however, you don't need to worry about it.
I'm sure my first post here is rather forgettable either way, and I think it had something to do with another member namedropping me due to my avatar picture...

Unfortunately for some reason you have to search the whole forum, not just this thread or section, to be able to go back further.

So... it requires a bit of tedious digging for us folk who've been posting in here a while. And it's why I'm not 100% certain that the post I found is actually my first post in this thread, it's just the oldest one I could reasonably find.

Found mine, I think:

SD Gundam: is it any good?

I've watched every Gundam series except for SEED & SD. (and i REFUSE to watch SEED.)

I hope you don't mind me linking a list of anime's i watched but i'm out of animes to watch & the only one that interests me, that's coming out is Deadman Wonderland (because the manga is so awesome).

Any suggestions? I need my anime fix!! :dopey:

Favorite Anime: Code Geass.

Code Geass is definitely not my favorite anime and hasn't been for a long time.
I'm also not out of animes to watch. The Deadman Wonderland manga was awesome though I wasn't happy with the ending. I still refuse to watch anything SEED.

I searched a likely word I may have said in the past. In my case, I'm pretty sure I've said the word "start" as in "I started watching such and such" or "I started anime when yada yada". So I did rough search and skimmed for the earliest date, clicked on that, scanned the page for my avatar, go back 100 pages, scan for my avatar, repeat until I not longer see it, skip forward 50 pages and then work back and forth until I've narrowed it down. Slow method, but tried and true. Serious forum business

School uniform, samurai swords, Lexus, post-apocalyptic setting.

Absolutely no relevance to each other. This is the kind of fan art that we need a lot less of.

I didnt realize this forum was only made to entertain you. I must be stupid !

I guess you have an idea on how we should use this forum.
umm ?? You didn't read what I quote ? I don't clearly but the guy I quote is saying we shouldn't post something like the pic he added on his post because it's irrelevant to him. I'm just trying to explain in an ass way that his taste might not be everyone's else taste.

I think going at his tastes isn't wholly efficient here. Don't think "buying his tastes" can be of any relation to this either, but then again all of us have bad taste seeing that we all watch anime/read manga.

I log in to see what's new, I see this... Not the best way to start my day.

Let's move along, in that case.

Edit: who's watching Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress? Think of AoT but steampunk and 80s/90s style art.
