So, I finished Schwarzesmarken.
What I expected: Evangelion + communists + AK's (no, actually - MPi-K's) + other Soviet stuff.
What I got: well... not sure. All I know is that East Germany was best Germany. :sly:

Anyway, 7/10 from me.

BTW, I haven't watched Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse - the original story. Might check it out sometime, too.

Flights booked! Heading up to Auckland tomorrow for Akiba-Con. Sora Tokui, Nico's VA from Love Live! is a special guest - can't wait :D

I'll be going to the Napoli Comicon this Sunday! It's the third-largest comics & videogames fair in Italy, and that really says something considering the largest convention of its kind here, the Lucca Comics & Games, is the largest in Europe and second-biggest in the world! All in all, HYPE LEVEL IS OVER 9000.

Well, aren't you two hyped for some journey-ing... Well, you have reasons for it, after all. Meanwhile, the only convention in Portugal which will happen soon is Iberanime, which has two different "versions"; one between May 7th and 8th at the MEO Arena in Lisbon, and one which will happen somewhere around September/October at the Pavilhão Multiusos in Gondomar (the one that's most acessible to me, being a Northerner). The most notorious Japanese guest Lisbon will see is Edo Haruma, designer of Senran Kagura ESTIVAL VERSUS fame. No Japanese VAs for us, sadly...

On a different note, does anyone remember this woman?

Also, something I discovered when I saw the author's name for the first time; Kia Asamiya also happened to be the person responsible for a series which I actually saw quite a few times before, none other than Corrector Yui... Now it makes sense; he loves names which involve the letters "Ai"; Corrector Yui had an girl named Ai, and both Kanojo no Carrera and his latest work have a girl named Aika. And they look somewhat similar;

Have fun. Is Auckland nice? I hear it is.

Actually it doesn't. I assume from your statement that Napoli is still pretty major, but the size of the largest comic con has no effect on the size of the third largest.

/pedantry

which will happen recently

Again, more pedantry, 'recently' is a past tense term. 'Soon' is the correct one. Don't want to come off like a jerk but I just want to help you avoid confusion.

I'm really pedantic this morning.

Anyway, so, I rewatched Tokyo Godfathers again. Satoshi Kon was such a genius. If you haven't seen Every Frame A Painting's video on him I strongly suggest you do.

(Possible spoilers for some of his stuff.)

Well nothing wrong with being slightly pedantic, I can certainly make use of proper corrections. English is not my main language, but I tend to pride myself on being capable of using it well for a non-native speaker. I would've liked to see something else being singled out in my post for discussion, instead of grammar mistakes if possible, but again nothing wrong with that. Noted and appreciated, and may your pedantry self be short-lived.

And it seems that I must grasp Satoshi Kon's greatness, if that video is anything to go by...

Probably by the voice actress he's going to see. She looks tough.

Gotta be properly sturdy to withstand the rough and dangerous world of JDM idols. Being a female idol singer requires you to exercise them muscles, both the vocal and the body kind of muscles.

It's a good thing our esteemed New Zealand friend isn't bringing his trusty Waifu Thrash Can (insert trademark here) along for the trip...

Check out Perfect Blue and Tokyo Godfathers in particular. Perfect Blue pulls off that rare Malkovich trick of constantly messing with your head while remaining pretty much coherent throughout; while Tokyo Godfathers is pretty much the perfect christmas film, and alongside Ghibli makes for good viewing for those unfamiliar with animu and mango.

I haven't seen Paprika so I can't comment on that one, Paranoia Agent and Millenium Actress are alright but not on the same level as the first two I mentioned.
