sup everyone, remember me? :D
Well I haven't really watched any "new" anime ever since Kancolle came out last year (still waiting for season 2 to appear this summer) but I'm kinda am interested in watching Bakuon!! Anyone watching that so far?

Food Wars episode 1.

Yup, I'm gonna enjoy this show

Made my sister get into Food Wars last night to hook her in. My god Episode 1 and 2 are so embarrassing to watch in a group. I'm glad they tone down the fanservice later on.

I really don't think they need that level of fanservice to suck people in, and if it does, those people ought to be ashamed they aren't watching for the art of cooking. Call me opinionated, but even if the cooking techniques aren't fully legit, there's so much about cooking to learn about and get exposed to.

Only a select few will. Majority of the old crowd is long gone. Nice of you to pop in.

Sorry, I don't, but a search back through my posts shows that our paths have crossed before. Welcome back, regardless, and enjoy the stay.

Said search also reveals that the quality of my posts has improved hugely in that time as I've matured and watching more anime has given me impeccable taste and taught me that anime is bad unless it's FLCL or Studio Ghibli.

Anyway, so, I rewatched Tokyo Godfathers again. Satoshi Kon was such a genius. If you haven't seen Every Frame A Painting's video on him I strongly suggest you do.

(Possible spoilers for some of his stuff.)

That Youtube channel is amazing. A friend who's a movie critic has pointed me in that direction before.

Anybody seen Rurouni Kenshin?

Apparently it's good from what I was told.

The main series is quite good. But it has a lot of filler. Luckily most of it is actually great and works to solidify the characters.

Samurai X tells the origin story, and in my opinion has some of the most enthralling animation. Portrays everything perfectly.

I think if you want a straight through film. Watch the OVA or read the manga. The live action films are awesome.

@Muzaffar,
Welcome back. 👍
I wonder if the older crew will pop in...kirkis,duzlk,Wolfe,vash..etc

It's an unfathomable mountain of guano.

What was told about the OVA and the live action stuff is true, though. But the tv show ia an unfathomable mountain of guano.

I forgot about a previous goal: Sell both figures = qualified to buy velociraptor.

Just a few days ago it was: Sell both figures = preorder Saber.

Should it be this:

My stepdad, browsing through my anime collection on Plex:

"Where are all the real Japanese cartoons, with blood and guts and naked girls..."

*browses some more*

"Alright, let's see how bad this one is."

*Puts on Aria the Animation*

Update: He skimmed the first episode, gave up on it and now he's put on Clannad. He's not doing a very good job finding the gore and sex... :roflcopter:

Update 2: He hasn't started fastforwarding through any of it yet. He's laughed a couple times. Oh god, is he enjoying it?! (Also, FYI... he's watching without subtitles. He has no idea what anyone is saying.)

How you come to imagine how this:

suggests there is blood and guts is beyond me.

Tell your stepdad "ninja pls"

I'm assuming he was thinking more about the sex aspect of "real Japanese cartoons" when picking Aria.

...Which lowers the "Wha...?" factor, but drastically increases the "Eww..." factor.

Update: He fell asleep maybe a third of the way through the first episode of Clannad. Thanks to Plex playing all the episodes, I had to deal with the horrifying moe sounds blobulating through my open-back headphones as I tried to watch me some YouTubz. So eventually I gave up and went back to sleep.

Woke up to find that my stepdad has finally struck oil: Black Lagoon.

That is a difficult one indeed. That raptor looks awesome.

I don't think this age knows about Galaxy Express 999..

I reckon this is probably it. I've heard of 999 but never watched it.

What's difficult now is that I want a model car, a figure, a skeleton and a cactus on my desk somewhere, but I only have space for one thing onry.

Indeed. And sadly.

Well I'd say the cactus has the advantage because it's quite cheaper 👍

In other news, Food Wars is the business, I've been enjoying it thoroughly.

One cannot teach he who has learned to pronounce perfectly... And in modern Dio's case, that is a dead-on given.

...great, now I can't get Takehito Koyasu's mad Dio voice out of my head. It's cool though; once he took over the role, Dio's perfect impression was complete. That is why I cannot despite Gundam Wing completely; yes, it tried to pander to young girls with bishounen-esque character designs, but it also put people like Koyasu and Ryutaro Okiayu on the map. I cannot hate a show that has brought forth some of Japan's finest voice actors in villainous roles...
