You see, I thought Eli had set the bar impossibly high myself. And yet Maki is so good she still manages to meet it to such a level that I could argue she's in my top 5 of all time. Though it was a doujin of her that ultimately got me into Love Live, it didn't start out that way with her, but after a long time finding more and more about her, I realised just how impossibly attractive she was. She also manages to be the greatest tsundere ever without actually being one. (Which evidently fooled everyone and made her the collective favourite, which is actually fine.)

Rin is great. In almost any other series she'd be among the very best. And yet the sad truth is she's only my seventh favourite in the whole group. That's not her fault. That's just how amazing, wonderful and brilliant mu's is.

Second worst.

One of the best voices though.

So one of the best singers but one of the worst characters? Man, you know why Mu's was so popular when even the second worst character has a top-of-line singing voice... But I guess the UmiEli wall is too tall for any other character to overcome, at least in my book that is.

Yeah, Rippi has an angelic voice!

By contrast, a good boyish-looking hair style gets me like...damn. (See also: my current avatar)

Short can look good. Your avatar has a short style that still looks feminine, whereas I don't think Rin does.

I can't have best girl per series?! :(

You can if you want, but that's leniency we give ourselves for failing to decided between one or the other.. i.e. imagine a life/death situation as an extreme example.

Now that's a name I haven't seen in forever!

There can be only one Dino too.

This boy and I (and Lain) have similar tastes. Good job, gents. 👍

Totally get you. And I think that's where someone like 2B will start breaking that barrier for most people.

At least talk about shows. What's the latest ep of whatever you watched? Tell us about your thoughts and reactions after that episode. Feel free not to use spoilers. This place could use a bit of drama.

failing to decided

Failing all day e'ery day

Edit: GTP15 failing all day e'ery day

Edit: never mind. The forum makes copies of every modified post, but refreshing gets rid of it. False alarm. GTP15 is love.

I just finally watched Your Name. didn't any expect any less in terms of visuals and from Shinkai. I'll probably rewatch it when it gets a Blu-Ray release (4K perhaps?)

Thank goodness it didn't end in tragedy. I don't think I can take it otherwise :P

But I'm reading it's an open ending. But is it really?

This being probably my first or second post in this thread, i just gonna start talking about how i got into this series...you know...my avatar.

Anime isn't a new thing for me at all, i have been watching since i was a kid along with my brother before i even knew the word "Anime" was even a thing. Watched different types of them over the time that were popular over here. Somewhere later in my life, i stopped watching them (and pretty much most shows i used to).
When i first started using the internet to explore further than locally, i discovered that people tend to have wider choices in the west than over here. I always wanted to explore and find new stuff i never knew or watched/read/played before so i tried to see what other people like or recommend. This is not just on anime but also goes to movies, video games, TV shows and more.

As for why i'm watching Love Live? I blame a member due to him changing his avatar from his usual Haku avatar to Kotori and making me wonder where did i see that before only to end up getting trapped into this. GG to that guy.

I have nothing else to say really, you could just move on now.

I thought it kinda funny how seemingly everyone here seemed to have an LL avatar once I was properly into it. I'm not saying I started it, but...

Course, I got into it after the Final Live announcement was posted here. I thought 'Aww, that's a little sad' and eventually decided to give it a closer look. Didn't know what I was getting into...

@Heldenzeit got me into it. I was looking at shows to watch and he suggested it - I got hooked really quickly.

@AudiMan2011 is the reason why I'm into love live right now.

Who knows, one day I might start buying collections of dvds, blurays and some merchandise due to this.

I think it was his post that got my attention as well. Though I only properly thought of getting into Love Live through other factors (i.e. my favourite artists drawing it).

Try cross-country trips to meet voice actresses. ;)

Yeah! It was the girls for me too. And maybe music.

SVX
Yeah! It was the girls Sora Tokui for me. And maybe music.

FTFY. :sly:

Well if we're discussing Love Live, first off I'll say it's the above person's "fault" that I got to know it. And the music was what attracted my attention, because anime idol music is not a genre I was exposed to often in my life. But I am thankful Love Live Mu's was the first example to open up my eyes regarding that, mind you...

Ah, right, my mistake. Sora Tokui is her civilian disguise, like Clark Kent is Superman's. Idol heroines need to hide their amazing aura and presence somehow...

Oh, nah, Soramaru is Nico's voice. Umi was my real hook, and probably Eli. When I found out Nanjo was actually the voice of her, I was really interested - Nanjo was (and still is) one of my favourite Japanese artists.

Oh, derp. My point about the whole "civilian/superhero" gag still stands, though because I have to uphold the honor of my gags haha.

It is interesting that while Nico's actress is your favorite Love Live actress, she doesn't represent your favorite Love Live character(s)...

When I first saw 2B I was like hmmm... that is nice character design there. Her white hair contrast with her black dress is absolutely gorgeous. Her Japanese voice also kinda sweet (the English dub is ok). Probably the only 3d game character I like so far.

Nah, she's not my favourite. Mimorin is, which is also Umi's voice actress.

So I guess it's basically Umi as your main favorite, as real-life actress and anime character. Well, no one can blame you. She's indeed a top girl regardless... And consistency goes a long way, haha.

SVX

Well, it was Maki specifically. She was the first at the time but more soon followed. Eli was the most notable but Umi was there or thereabouts as well, if I recall correctly. Wonder if that has something to do with them being my top 3.

Except actually, I'd known an artist who'd drawn Nozomi a lot, long before I'd ever bothered getting into Love Live. So going in she was just about the only thing I knew about it. And she's great too.

Basically, my standings:

Umi, Kotori, Nozomi, Eli, Maki, Honoka, Nico,

Rin,

Hanayo.

Voice actresses:

Mimorin, Kussun, Ucchi, Rippi, Pile, Emitsun, Soramaru, Nanjo,

Kubo.

Seems like Love Live on topic right now so there are few questions I want to ask. First, we know Muse is a great idol group, but how about Aqours? And which sub-unit from Aqours that you guys think is the best? Is it as worthy and comparable as previous Muse's sub-unit?

I wasn't sold on Aquors when I saw they were replacing mu's, and I'm still not now. As I've said before, if they were markedly different to mu's in the sense that they're nine girls, with three first, second and third year girls each, they'd stand out more. But they don't. So I'm just not interested in them.

As for the sub-units, if any one of those right now or in the future is as good as BiBi ever was, they deserve a spot in a hall of fame. What sort of hall, I'm not sure. But basically they'd have to be damn good.

SVX
Basically, my standings:

Umi, Kotori, Nozomi, Eli, Maki, Honoka, Nico,

Rin,

Hanayo.

Here, Eli > Maki > Umi > Hanayo > Nozomi > Nico > Rin >>>>>>>> Honoka > Kotori.

Voice actresses:

Mimorin, Kussun, Ucchi, Rippi, Pile, Emitsun, Soramaru, Nanjo,

Kubo.

I'm not quite sure how I'd go about ranking the voice actresses, since only three of them (Mimorin, Pile and Nanjo) have singing voices I find any good. Except Kubo is so impossibly cute I can't possibly look past her. As is her voice when she's not singing. Soramaru is much the same in the voice stakes. And I'll admit an occasional liking to Emitsun's singing. But I can't really condone Kussun, Rippi or Ucchi in any way. With the greatest of respect.
