It's the eyes, man....

I noticed that too before I scanned it. I have a tendency to forget fundamentals and proportions when I draw this stuff. I get too caught up trying to get the eyes drawn right and then when I go do the other one I forget about alignment, spacing... it doesn't help when I have trouble drawing right eyes too.

I've already devised a different method; going back to a comfortable method and using that as a ground to get more accurate drawings... after that I need to get stupid fabric folds down. Hate it more than drawing hair.

Yeah, I also tend to screw up faces really bad, specially when they are looking as traight-forward at you as in that picture. Profiles and 3/4s are easier.

On the subject of drawing, my Rayearth fanboyism (and the fact that she is the only character I know by memory and that every single anime girl I draw ends up bein' her) has led me to draw a Mokona-hugging Fuu that is coming along well. The pencil sketch is done, if I can refine it enough for it to look decent I may even give it a try at colouring. It's been ages since I last coloured a character drawing of mine.

Well, the language is Game Maker's own language, called GML. Can you guess what it stands for? :lol:

It's a little bit like Python. Syntax-wise though, it's extremely relaxed... moreso than any other language I have experience using (Python, Java).

One time during an assignment I wrote various lines of poetry in my friend's code. She left it in for the lulz. The teacher didn't mention it, surprisingly.

I see ALL the benefits to doing the colouring on computer, but I think I'm going to try using markers to lay down the highlights and shadows... and THEN dropping a base colour on computer.... can't stand tablets sometimes... maybe I just need to grab some brushes off the web.

And 3/4s is stupid easy, but sometimes you have to do other angles and it certainly isn't a bad to try once in a while.

Actually a stupid easy trick is to use the vertical axis symmetry on Sketchbook Pro :P. Stupid digital programs making people lazier now.

You can get decent results with the basic Photoshop brushes, I did this about a year and a half ago out of complete boredom when I had to go to the guard turn the 25th of december at work and there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO. Found this in DevArt, had my portable Photoshop with me and this resulted:

Whoever has to be credited with the lines is hereby credited. It was about an hour of rushed dabs here and there but came out good enough that I saved it.

My brother has become an specialist in creating brushes for colouring certain situations of light and textures and on and on. I could ask him. Altough he mainly uses Painter now.

EDIT: Damn the tones look way different in this monitor. I hate calibrations.

I want Daryl dead. Now. Right now. And I swear his seiyu sounds like the same person that does Banagher.

Let's see...I've already said I love Gai (this episode confirms that), but, Ayase (I think it's Ayase)...a paraplegic that kicks ass and is hot? Yes, please. Tsugumi...DAT SUIT. Okay, on to the serious stuff: I've never seen a piece of animation where a pandemic was so...crude and relentless. I mean the way Daryl wiled on that woman just for touching him (mysophobic asshat) was really uncalled for. The way the GHQ is themselves is entirely uncalled for. I want them dead too.

Oh, and once again, Inori...DAT SONG, or rather, DEM SONGS.

The color's a little bit blotchy in a couple places, but still... that's pretty good. 👍

Yeah, I did not draw it. I found the lines in DevArt while boring myself to death and decided to give color a go, since I hadn't done such a thing in... heck, years. The only things that I draw and colour are cars now, lol.

And yeah, I now it's far from really good, but I mean, it was just an hour, lol.

EDIT: Also, notice how I coloured Fuu even if I did not draw her.
 
You did a great job with the hair, though I dislike gradients when it comes to anime, like the shadow cast on her legs by her skirt...

one of my pet peeves with Photoshop. I know I downloaded brushes some years ago, but I can't find it. Rather, I don't remember what it's called.
