Ouran is just ridiculously popular. Out of all the YouTube videos FUNimation has ever uploaded, episode 1 is the most popular-beating out Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood episode 1-(I think it's the subbed one, I can't check because YouTube isn't letting me check as it's requiring me to sign-in, and despite me being 17, due to it having "No rating" (Despite it being rated TV14 on the BD, DVD, streams, etc.), it says I'm not old enough.<_<The age system is corrupt on legal anime streams there.).

I can say though it's had 750,000+ views since like 2009/2010.
Gundam > any other mecha anime.
Even freaking SD Gundam?

better question: What have you already watched?

That is a rather large question  I'm not sure how to go about sorting that all out.

Ouran I watched a few years ago, and it is fun. I liked it. I'm sure she has seen Clannad I think, not sure about second season. She tends to watch dubbed stuff, so it quite a bit behind the fansub community, which is where I use to get all my stuff. Breaking her of wanting to watch dubs is going to take a bit of effort as well :indiff:

I myself think Code Geass kind of wins out over Gundam stuff, if just because there is a lot more going on to it and I'm not a huge fan of the rather large mecha typically found in Gundam. The Geass ones are too large even... though nothing compared to Gundam. Then you can mix in the random weird Mecha stuff, like Rahxephon, etc. Weird.

A suggestion, to those that like dark stuff, is Black Lagoon.

Gundam < Geass indefinitely....

But the mobile suits themselves are cool nevertheless.

Unfortunately, the only way she'll be able to watch some anime now is dubbed only. Due to the state of the industry, more and more shows are released subbed-only, and or limited-edition only.

Someone signal for my elite services?

I've been away...tending to more FP stuff, so I'm well behind on what's going on.

Tell your girl that the Japanese voice acting exhibit attitudes that portray the tone of the character's mood and attitude better than english voice actors for the most part....

Eh? Fansubs man, fansubs.

Be a good chap and find me things girls like so I can use them as an excuse to entertain a lady friend.

Oh, I have. At length. I'll get her sorted out and she'll appreciate seeing stuff 2 years sooner than if she were to wait for the dub >_>

I prefer fansubs, but for newcomers fansubs are a bit complicated to get into, since these directly translate some of the jokes/puns that correspond to that language, is quite difficult to understand (for newcomers) some of the jokes that are directly translated.

Take for example Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, you need a bit of knowledge about the language and culture to understand what the jokes are actually about and what is going on.

Bit of a quote storm, but I won't rant. I promise.

Weren't those the production models?

That's AGE-2.

What do you mean by production? Gunpla?

It looks like a variant of exia(cross exia and 00). Probably a manga variant 👍.

Or just fan made

Overall it looks EPIC!!!!!!!

Edit: Also looks like a Age gundam variant.

More like a variant of Kyrios. :P

Gundam though from my experience isn't the best for mechas. Eureka Seven and Gurren Lagann were much better for example.

Depends on what you've seen; experience varies from person to person.

Also, and it's worth mentioning, Gundam in general is a very specific type of mecha anime. It coined it's own genre to be honest.

Do you want me to flood your page again?

School Rumble. It's funny...so, she should go for it.

If not, Guilty Crown.

If not that, ugh, Angel Beats! (I'm spit-balling now).

The gundam series I think that relates more with the technology of today.

Read the Guilty Crown synopsis, and all I could think of was Geass. Down to the "power of the kings"

So I'm getting it at the moment.

:dopey:

Oh someone's puppy is going to lose a life should you do that. Think of the puppy.

That's just cruel and unusual.

~08th Poster~

Hm. 08th was perhaps the most reckless in terms of environmental setting: you have 30+ foot tall mobile suits that, if pierced or shot in just the right place, could explode with a NUCLEAR GENERATOR. Wut?

Granted, no one (at least that I can remember; it's been a while since I've seen 08th) actually aimed for the generator for that exact reason, but what if someone 🤬 up?

That is an utter lie....

....because we don't have badass giant humanoid robots killing each other...

No one aimed for the generator from what I remember. Dont think the ez 8 sliced the reactor of the gouf custom because (of course no major explosion), and on the MG Zaku 2.0 the reactor is in the waist area (they share the same body architecture it seems).

The 1 year war amazes me with its side stories and mobile suit prototypes.
