Guess I have an F- for having Haruhi still on-hold after like 2 episodes.:(Going to get back to it in the next few months as I finally figured out what order I'll watch the episodes in (And then deal with season 2.).

Don't know how long it'll take me to watch NGE when I hopefully get it. BTW, what should I watch first, the dub or the sub? Which one will give me the better NGE experience.

I personally prefer NGE's dub, but others might disagree.

I recommend seeing Steins;Gate, so it's a contradiction to say not to listen to me and also to watch Steins;Gate. :P

Fair enough

I just thought Azuremen was getting the wrong idea after all your dissing on it :P

Others like me. Subs all the way. Just can't stand any dubs. Sure, a few of them are alright but they are mostly so bad I just don't even bother looking for dubs anymore.

They weren't TOO boring to me either, but I enjoyed Steins;Gate's first two episodes.

So did I. I enjoyed all of them but the anime did left me wondering for quite some time when was something going to happen already

It is a show that would benefit from having less episodes, no doubt.

Actually both are great for that show. The sub is awesome, of course, but they nailed it with the dub as well IMO. Spike Spencer did great as Shinji. We even got him to do the Shinji scream at a panel once. It was amazing.

I think I'd go with the NGE subs, but it has honestly been so long since I've seen it. But I still remember ceilings.

I watch mostly dubs, and I rarely encounter dubs that are truly awful. You might commonly get an annoying-sounding character or two... but that's no different for Japanese voices.

Then there are the rare shows with awful dubs, such as Mobile Fighter G Gundam (which I'm currently watching). But in these cases, the dubs are awful for a reason: the show itself is awful. Changing to subs wouldn't make a whole lot of difference in those cases.

I think since you mostly watch dubs you are just immune to how bad most of them are lol.

Most shows truly are better subbed IMO. I think Cowboy Bebop may be the one exception. Excel Saga is great both dubbed and subbed as well as NGE.

And from what I've heard of the Madoka dub, just go away Madoka dub.

This. Most people that like dubs, or claim they aren't bad, generally haven't watched much anime subbed. CBBB is one possible exception, but English dubs are generally very bad, even if they have one lead character down well, the rest just detract from the experience I feel.

Fullmetal Alchemist has an awesome dub too!

But for the most part, I'm all about subs.

Agreed. I have only seen the original FMA but the dub was pretty good.

Have also met a couple of people who have done voices in that show and they were hilarious also like Spike Spencer.

I dunno. I've watched a good amount of stuff subbed, so... eh.

Japanese voice actors aren't inherently leagues better than English ones. Sure, voice acting might be a more common or respectable profession over there, but that doesn't necessarily make 'em better.

The only reason English voice acting can sound worse is because we happen to know what regular English sounds like, thus we're more prone to recognizing when things sound off in English. Conversely though, when an English dub is good, I believe it can have a greater impact than a good Japanese dub, for the very same reason.

Putting F/SN on my computer right now, might watch an episode or two... or I'll start Geass.

Either you horribly misspelled Bokurano, or you decieved me. :(

I totally agree with you. However to me it sounds like the Japanese dubbing just has more emotion and feeling to it whereas on the English dub it usually sounds like they are doing just enough to get their paycheck. And that's not completely on them, that's more the director's fault. But to me it usually sounds like they don't care as much. You bring up a good point though. Having English as the language I am surrounded by and speak probably makes it easier for me to pick up on that in the English dub and it could be for that reason why I tend to think they don't sound as good. But again there are exceptions.

Loli you will love Code Geass.

I dropped F/SN. Frankly now that I'm watching F/Z I remember why. This anime has so much potential but it just refuses to deliver... dammit

Not a problem you will have with Geass. It delivers like few do :3

I'll start the first episode of Geass Fate/Stay Night in a second.

Okay, I don't really have as much of a problem with Lelouch's Shiro's character design as I had originally thought.

Glad to hear it. :D 👍

Wait a sec... Dung Beetle isn't in the first episode...
