By turning TC down to the minimum (not off) I was able to shave almost a second off my lap time, got down to a 2:13.4 and did a couple others in the 13's.
Awesome. You and I seem to be matched pretty evenly for speed everywhere we race, I just have to work on my starts so I can stay with you and we can battle it out.

We were dead even at Brands in the Escort, that was some of the best racing I've had in ages. I think you're a bit faster around the mountain but hopefully we can get a slipstream going and at least be able to see the lead group's bumpers for a while. :D

You guys are getting faster and faster, this is getting me worried since I don't have much time to practise until the race. My best was a 2:14.909 and I hit a wall. I really need to step my driving up. Until the race I have just a few hours of lapping left...

Sounds like you should pretty much be right there with us, without hitting the wall you probably could have been down in the 13's. I'm not harboring any illusions about keeping up with the fast guys but it sounds like we could have a good mid-pack battle going on and that can be just as fun. 👍

Turns out Twitch only stores replays for a limited time but it's a cinch to export them to YouTube so I've created a YouTube page for the GVRC (link in sig).

Also, in case you missed it the epic Lake Louise received a major update this week. It now has a dozen layouts, a few of them are free but if you make a PayPal donation to the designer (any amount, even $1) you get all the layouts. He says he has over 1,000 hours in the project (I believe it) and used Google Earth to hand make all of the mountains and scenery. It's pretty freaking amazing. You guys should definitely check it out and if you give the guy a couple bucks you'll get the full 50km  circuit which is just unbelievable for cruising. I've been toying around with the idea of having "track days" on our off week, I think it would be pretty sweet to have a bunch of us cruising around this place (with two way traffic) in a bunch of random street cars.

Wiz
Very fun but tricky car. I think it's my favorite of the GT3's to drive. I was hoping to get into the 9's but couldn't seem to make it happen.

It seemed like no matter what I did tuning wise, it didn't make a ton of difference in lap times. The attached tune is perhaps a little more stable than default.

- I didn't on the recorded lap, but keep it in 5th down the Mountain Straight.
- Even though you'll redline, keep it in 3rd going into Reid Park.
- Shift down to 2nd for The Chase. (This is true for all the cars)

Oh and read this - https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/assetto-corsa-tools-tips-and-tricks.325126/#post-11232655

Another fantastic tune Wiz! Thanks a lot. Finally managed to break into the 10's in the SLS.

You can count me in! 👍

I'll drive the GTR tomorrow, I hope that's not an issue. I managed to build a pretty neat setup, capable of consistent low 2.11s and I even managed to drive a 2.09.92 with it. I think most of you might be able to get below two minutes with it then. :D The car will probably be a tad more tail-happy than it is with the baseline setup, which (by the way) was a really good base to start with. That means if you struggle with my setup (can't blame you for that, I didn't really have a clue what I was doing ), you might want to start tweaking the baseline setup instead (or take it for a spin first, it's surprisingly good IMHO! It was just too understeer-y for me.)
A few notes on the car: 1) Shift when the red LEDs light up, try not to hit the limiter. This is a very short time frame, so 2) Set the TC to 10/12, it gives you enough power while not allowing the wheels to slip too much. This means you can stomp on the loud pedal unbelievably early! 3) Going into T11, try to brake shortly before you drive through the Bentley banner. Otherwise, the front will lift off for a short moment, causing you to crash. This might be the case with other cars as well (haven't tried other cars on this circuit yet, to be honest), but since the GTR is somewhat of a brick on wheels, this sort of behavior might be exceptionally apparent with the Nissan. 4) Don't worry about hitting the limiter on your way to The Chase. This is, surprisingly enough, faster than a taller sixth gear (at least that's what I have noticed).

I have no idea if I can join tonight. Plus I have only driven my McLaren for 5 minutes in the past two months xD
McLaren's are fun. :ill:

EDIT: But I've crashed the R8 pretty bad, too. Body damage hurts top speed hella.

Looking forward to Sat, 2:15s would be nice, really just avoiding the walls is the goal.

I really get on with the McLarens, even have my own livery for it. My problem with joining is that I have so much work to do and no time to practice let alone join! I like the Audi too. What levels of downforce are you running there?

I want to say I'm running either the default values, or 1-click lower for each, I'm planning to jump in AC here shortly for some familiarization/practice (been playing more R3E lately).

I'll put up my 12C-tune too if you're interested.

Go for it. There is a slim chance I can make it tonight, and though I'll have to take it easy with little practice, I'd like to stand a chance to stay with the mid pack! :P

Just under 3 hours until qualifying starts. I'll probably have the server up a bit early for some extra practice, will restart it at 5:30 EST to begin qualifying. Just did a few quick laps and couldn't get below 2:16 in the Z4. :odd:

So I just did my first proper laps in my McLaren in months, at a track that I have only ever done 15 laps in (in GT6 as well). Um... yeah.

How is it decided what cars we use. Like I said I'm happy to use whatever car, apart from the GTR as I haven't driven it, but I'd like to know so I can do a little practice before my first race with you guys! Exciting times.

You should be able to pick whichever one you want. There's at least 4 of each available and we probably won't have more than 10-12 people so we probably shouldn't run into any problems. There's 7 Z4’s available and 5 650s's since I figured they'd be the most popular and seem to be the easiest to get around in. It is possible that someone' so referred car will be all taken though, so it would be a good idea to have backup selected.

So, Friday night I went to bed very late as I know it's my only sleep in day on Sat (2am - damn you YouTube!!) and got woken up by the kids at 6.30 :/ Then last night my Wife and I went out for dinner then went to see Dead Pool, then had to pick the kids up from Grandma's and bring them home, didn't get in till 1.30. Thought the kids might have a sleep in due to being woken in the night to get transferred to the car etc, nope. My youngest got me up just then (6.30).

If I suddenly stop on the track today and become unresponsive on the mic, I apologise, but I have probably fallen asleep. Hopefully I can still string together a lap or 2!

I ended up doing a bunch of testing earlier this afternoon, and what I started with and ended with tune-wise are night and day, I'm now into the low 2'14s so it's still mid-pack range, but consistent at least, I'll upload it before I hop on the server after I eat and take a break. (my arse can only take so much)

Unless you want it earlier, in which case just ask 👍, but I'm starving

Suffering from a hangover here, couple of beers with the mates yesterday became a couple of liters so not sure i'm up to the task.

If i don't make it tonight i wish you guys a good race 👍

Any time will be good! I just tried a few laps with some slight tunes and I am in the high 2:14s, but I still do not know the track too well (braking point, best lines etc). Just don't have time to really work it all out! (This is all on medium tyres, right?)

Also, Bathurst makes my car look pretty!

Yep, medium tires. If you can do 2:14's you should have plenty of people to race with, I think several people are in the 2:13-2:15 range (myself included). For me the main goal is to have fun racing with other people and making new friends, proving who's fastest is just a byproduct. So hopefully you'll be able to join us for some fun! :)

Hopefully yes! I just have a few worries, ranging from massive lack of practise to the fact that the only time I have raced online was with you and @fatkrakr on that test session. And let's face it, Barthust is wholly different to Goodwood xD

I'm a bit nervous as well, haha. I only practiced for about 30 or so minutes, and I've only raced online on AC once before as well!
