Well, this is all just for fun, nothing too serious so no worries. The more people the more fun I say so come on out. đź‘Ť I can almost guarantee I'll spin/crash at least once per race, so worst case scenario is the three of us get wrapped up in an epic battle for last place. :D

Bring it on! Fight you for last! :P

GTP won't just let me attach it

For future reference, you need to zip the setup file to attach it here. Right click the setup file, Send to, Compressed Folder, attach.

Ok thinks it's because I haven't got dream pack 3. Downloading now

I guess since some of the GT3's are from DLC you have to have it, I didn't think about that. For future GT3 races I could limit it to just the cars that came with vanilla AC to make it more accessible.

Ah, Ok. I was already logged-in to my DB for AC pics and basically said 🤬-it.

@BrandonW77, we need to get this (GVRC) on the Rewind, let GT players know we still had plenty of pits for their 12hr fix. :sly:

Or just turn it into a GT3 series. :P

Well that was fun! Huge apologies to whoever I tagged at Forrest'e Elbow in the first race. I lost the rear which meant lost some braking and just couldn't avoid you. I did apologise over Teamspeak but think you guys couldn't hear me. Did check the mic was working in teamspeak earlier today so no idea what was wrong in the race.

The second race was just flat out from start to finish! Got a great start and jumped someone into the first corner. Then the lead four guys just hammered round for the next ten laps. Made a few mistakes and then a big one on the last lap to let someone through but he repaid me on the final chicane and I finished third. Great standard of racing and very fun. Hopefully I'll be able to make the next one.

If it was a white 12C GT3, I bet it was probably me. No worries (I actually laughed a little, especially during our little 'getting going' dance), but your mic must've not worked because I don't think anyone heard it at that time.

I had a blast, once I get a hold of the replay file for race 2, I'm going to take a few pics, I simply love GT3 racing.

@ECGadget, Just join-in more often, need to get you up to speed so we can two-man team a GT3 effort sometime.

I had an absolute shocker of a first race. Like, it was embarrassing lol.

Anyway, got in to the Z4 for the second and it was much easier to drive and I was able to get comfortable. Had a great race with Brandon, made a huge error through Reid Park and ended up in a massive crash. Then ended up having another little race with Gravitron in the Audi for a few laps. Not a bad morning.

One thing I've learned, I can do fast laps occasionally in qual etc but in races I really need to work on consistency, and I need to stop looking at the car in front of me and just concentrate on my own driving as it stuffs me up.

It's time that stops me, I don't have time to do much at all! Honestly, I'd love to race more often! đź‘Ť
Though I was super upset that my livery refused to show =(

That was good stuff, seemed like most everyone had someone to battle with most of the time. For some reason I couldn't get out of the 15's in qualifying but managed to do some 12's in the second race.

Thanks to everyone for coming out, this was our best crowd yet.

I have a tendancy to do that as well, the trick is to look at the track and not the car, I imagine it's not even there sometimes and keep in the throttle, and it works, broke 2'12 from the 2'14 just hours prior.

I know that feeling, darn reality. Also @Wiz can correct me if I'm wrong, but skins in AC are finicky in that...
1.) Brandon needs to put it on the server (or something like that), and-
2.) Brandon would have to then assign that skin to you manually. (and that may require booking mode, idk)

AC is great for the driving aspect, but there are some things that make you scratch your head sometimes. :boggled:

My races were a bit of a shambles. Qualifying was a little slow but I was content with it. First race I was doing decently but I think I was rear ended (completely on accident of course). @Punknoodle was that you? :P
From there I thought I could work my way back up due to yellow flags in places but then I realised I had not fueled up. So into the pits I went. Race over. xD
Second qualifying was pretty decent too, but then in the race I had a T2 incident which I am not sure if it was my fault or not xD. From there I was just last place but I started catching up to you guys at about 0.5s-1.2s a lap. Annoyingly, the race ended. I needed 5 more laps! :P

@Kurei aaah okay! Well, perhaps next time if I ever make it to a GT3 race...

Yeah, I could load custom skins in and everyone else would have to install them too (if you wanted to use/see them) but it would still randomly assign them. The only way be able to select our own livery is by using booking mode but I don't think booking mode would work great for us (as we saw tonight with some people not knowing if they would be able to show up until the last minute).

Was it at the cutting? I think I may have tapped you when you got a little out of shape and you were somewhere I didn't think you were going to be

It was T4 I think (not sure of the names) - at the start of the hill climb, I tend to take a strange line into it. I think it was a Merc that hit me? Either way, it was a bit of a shock xD
I just started turning in and then I was facing a wall lol

Great racing out there today everyone. I'm a big fan of the GT3's so I was really looking forward to this one and it didn't disappoint. Great battle with PzR Slim in the 2nd race. The Nissan was quicker on the straights than his BMW but not as quick through the twisty bits. Made for some really fun battles throughout each lap.

@Kurei here is the replay file of the 2nd race - http://www.mediafire.com/download/hn86z88125613sy/bathurst_gt3_race_2

I'm seriously considering this.

Would always attract a crowd i'm sure. But all DLC should be represented though people just have to buy it and that's it, the packs are way to good anyway so we'd be helping them out if they do :D

Well, where to start ... the first race was a bit of a disaster for me. Qualifying went well, got off to a good start ... and then, after two or three laps, I gave the car in front of me a "light" tap. I then slid into the barrier and stayed there, in the hope I wouldn't impact the race. Oh, how wrong I was ... I got hit (unavoidably) and then had to let the whole field pass by. After everybody passed me, I immediately started turning my shame into ambition and plowed through the track as if there were no tomorrow. All went well, up until I ran into an AMG GT3. I tried overtaking him coming towards the final chicane, but despite the Nissan's unmatched straight-line speed, we were two-wide and ended up staying that way coming into The Chase. The car next to me wouldn't show up on Helicorsa, but it seemed right next to me on the game's track map, leaving me extremely confused and causing me to drive in a very cautious fashion. Coming out of the chicane, the next thing I heard was a bit of cussing - I immediately felt guilty as I now knew I screwed up the race for yet another person. As a result, I can't even remember in what position I finished.

The second race, I hoped, should definitely go better. I managed to get into the front row during qualifying again, but as we started, I managed to stall the car. All I wanted to do was not to shoot forward in a blinding cloud of smoke and yet, I ended up doing the exact opposite instead ...
With quite a few positions lost and bad memories from the overtakes of the last race, I at least tried to make the best out of it. The problem was that my horrible mistake at the start of the race has left me yet again with a burning determination to get at least somewhere close to where I previously was, so I may have been a bit impatient. I still held back a little so I wouldn't end up ruining somebody's race yet again. From what I can tell, at least that part went pretty well (if not, please tell me!). I slowly managed to creep on the leading group, even though I was thrown off at some points when we were halfway through the race. The construction that is supposed to keep my pedals in place decided to deform and as a result, the box managed to move into the pedal path (I guess that's what it's called?), meaning I had to move the pedal set back- and forwards (well, mainly backwards as in towards me - no need to push the pedals further into the box!) while driving - certainly an interesting task. (yeah, sim racing driver excuses :P)
At some point, the cardboard box crawled under my brakes in such a way that I could only apply ~20-30% brake pressure. Coming into T2 and using my usual braking point, that meant I was doomed to crash. Despite that, I still managed to carry on (even though with a bit of a loss of time) and started moving further towards the three cars in front of me. As we were on our last lap, this happened ...
to let someone through but he repaid me on the final chicane and I finished third.
Ah, so that was you! I was the one behind you at the end. Letting you through on the final chicane was not intentional though, to be honest. That certainly was a very interesting ending to this race. :D

Despite my various mistakes, it surely was a lot of fun! This definitely was one of the most interesting evenings I've had on Assetto Corsa so far ... thanks to all of you for making this possible! Thankfully, Silverstone is not as narrow as Bathurst and will provide us with lots of run-off zones.

Definitely a worthwhile idea, I'm interested in that. It all depends on the timing for me, though.

EDIT: Edited some of my wording as most of this post was written around 3am.

I couldn't join last night... I had an unplanned family dinner and that extended throughout the night. I wished I could've joined, it seemed like fun.
