PS4

Selecting solo, quick race weekend. If you pick weather slots and sync to race, and compete in a session before the race ie qualifying, the race only starts on the first slot and stays on it rather than cycling through them. If you do race only, then weather slots are fine and sync.

Don't think I've missed any settings to cause or remedy it.

Locked out of 'Take Photo' and 'View Replay' during Free Practice. Exiting and then restarting the practice session fixed it.

So in real life there would be some reason to change 2nd gear to the same ratio as 1st gear while not being able to lower 1st gear at all resulting in 2 gears that are exactly the same? Or perhaps there would be some reason to move first gear all the way up to where 2nd gear is and then raise all gears that follow. Neither of which seems realistic at all. No one would ever do either of those in a real car, is basically not adjustable at all.

Ok Last post related to this. And these are two related bugs.
1: You can using the mouse set the pointer between two gears making it look as though you are selecting a ratio that would fall between them which would make total sense but it does not actually do it. Instead it either sets it to the gear above or the gear below.
2: In some cases you can tap the stick to move up or down on the ratio and it doesn't change. In some case you can hit it twice before it changes and in others you can move it 3 times before it changes.

Stupid question maybe, but this is only with one BMW, right? Or did you try with other cars? Can you try one of the LMPs (they definitely have adjustable gearing), if you havent?

PS4, Road Car Invitation Event, Donnington Park. When coming out of the Pit Box, Car model is not loaded correctly until I leave the box. Not a huge issue but does look a bit amateurish. Only seems to happen in this event!

I unlocked the "On Your Left" achievement by simply being lapped and immediately getting back in front of the leader. I did this within the first 5 minutes of gameplay, which must be a record. I was karting.

Hi guys I know this bug has been mentioned before about the sound bug whilst in higher revs which is very off putting and sounds terrible enough to want me to turn my ps4 off, not sure if this has been mentioned but I was getting the sound bug in chase cam as this is the only cam I can use, I started to toggle through the cams and the sound was perfect in everyother cam except the one I use, so it only seems to be active in chase can for me, can others check this out also.

Please fix SMS/WMD 👍
Echoing:bowdown: Please cater for us old school fuddy duddies.:indiff:

Pretty much every career race now starts with one car on top of another. It's not game breaking obviously, but it is very immersion breaking - game definitely needs more polish.

Crazy, never saw that in the PC Builds.

PC/CSR/CSR elite pedals/CSR h-shifter/any track

If I have my shifter in gear when first starting a race, my throttle is inactive, even when set back to N. Have to restart race with shifter in N.

I have my Look Left and Right direction mapped to Directional button on wheel, wont always work but once I hit the pits, they start to work as intended.

When I want to shift from let's say 6th to 5th but accidentally shift from 6th to 3rd on the h shifter, the gear on screen and in trans is still 5th?

Ginetta G40

In the FFB settings the Arm Angle has and extra notch between 1800 and 1900 as though there is 1850 as an option. I'm not sure if this extends to any other cars.

Also Replays not being watchable from online lobbys.

Do you mean that you cannot spectate races in real time whilst in a lobby, or that you cannot save replays of online races?

If it's the latter, half my enjoyment of sim racing would be gone.

I started a 10 lap race with clear weather, set to change to rain towards the end. My tyres are set to 'automatic for weather' and therefore started on dry tyres.

The AI started on wet tyres but were (strangely) only a couple of seconds per lap slower than me. I was able to climb a couple of places though.

Needless to say, when it started raining at lap 6, my need to pit and change to wets meant I lost the race, whereas the AI could all stay out on their wet tyres.

You can save online replays, problem comes when viewing them. You can only watch yourself and therefore if you're way out at the front or the back it's really boring. I like to make highlights videos of the action but can't with pCars at the moment, unfortunately. I hope they include it soon as it's possible to watch others during qualifying so it can't be that hard to.switch camera during a replay.

Edit: in fact I know it's not difficult cos it's extremely easy to programme, it's just been lazily overlooked.

Stupid question maybe, but this is only with one BMW, right? Or did you try with other cars? Can you try one of the LMPs (they definitely have adjustable gearing), if you havent?

So far I have only played around with gearing on two cars. The 1 Series BMW and the 125cc shifter kart. The gearing seems to be working the same on both. The final drive is adjustable on the kart but it also jumps in chunks though sometimes it doesn't change at all when you use the button to move the slider. For example say the final drive is at 5.00 you hit the stick to lower the drive and it still say 5.00 you hit it again and it says 5.0 hit it again and it say 5.19. Hit it the other way and it says 5.0 again 5.0 and again 5.0 then one more time at it goes to 4.80.

The gearing on the kart seems to work the same as on the BMW in that if you want to change say 4th gear. If you move it one click right it becomes the same as 5th gear or one click left it becomes the same as 3rd gear. Using the mouse you can appear to select a value between the two but the text will always be that of one of the staring values for one of the gears. The only exception is the top gear. I think you can go higher with that one though I am not sure I have tried it due to the fact that I was trying to tighten the gears rather than increase them. The BMW was not able to wind out 5th gear so increasing 6rh would have been useless.

I will try other cars later and see if it is the same on the LMPs

I suspect that the cars you're working on do not have the adjustments you're looking for in the real world, so don't have them in the game.

The diff ratio on the kart will be in "chunks" because those are the available ratios - no glitch or bug here.

Mulitplayer - Monza - Merc 300 SEL
No engine sound during acceleration, but there was when slowing down.

Mulitplayer - Brands Hatch - can't rememeber which car.
At end of qualifying 0 CE error.

Is this XBOX? If yes, this is known and they are working on a fix. Temporary workaround I heard is to plug the controller into USB.

PC. And I'm playing with a wired controller.

I did a quick check on the R18. Final gear has 4 slots, but the right 2 are the same.

Individual gears seemed to have 2 or 3 adjustments instead of 1. Also, and this was curious but makes sense, if you have say 5th gear at 1.50 for example (totally made up) and 6th is at 1.20, you can adjust 6th back towards 1.50 in step of say 1.30 and 1.40 but the limit is 1.50. However, if you adjust 5th gear so that it is at 1.60, you will then be able to adjust 6th gear to 1.50 where you couldn't before. Also, if you move the lower gears to the right, the gears below it will start to move right so that they are never above the number of the lower gear. Makes sense as well.

I'm not sure how it fits in with real life track adjustments, but I'm guessing the LMP's don't need a lot of adjustment for anywhere other than Le Mans and the included ratios would probably cover it quite well. At Spa for example, I'd assume they'd use the same basic gear settings but with a much closer 6th for the Kemmel and the section leading up to the chicane.

Does anyone know what the real life gear options are for an LMP so we can check this?

Are plugged into a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port?

USB 2, but that has nothing to do with anything.

The game is broken. I think it's a physics bottleneck or something. The brakes are rubber-banding the car, not slowing it down.

Here's video:

Audi R18 LMP uses Xtrac Sequential, there are lots of ratios available for each gear and usually several final drive, similar to hewland / ricardo offerings. The limitation is more on the real life race regulations which often limits the ratios used. I have read the 2014 ACO LMP regulations, no limit of ratio range specified, but the number of forward gears must be less or equal to 7.

For 2014, Xtrac specific LMP1 transmission with 13:46 to 19:39 straight cut gear ground final drive ratio are available as standard offering. A lot of range for adjustment for the final alone. While for 1st and 2nd layshaft gears are integral, and 3rd to 7th are slide on with a wide range of available ratios. The 3rd to 7th can be from 13:26 to 25:24 based on Xtrac typical gear ratios.

For the BMW 1M, in real life one can fit hewland or xtrac sequential box or other aftermarket offerings, lots of ratios to choose from, money is the limit.

It ain't no looker either is it?
Expecting GT7 to blow this out the water visually.
a first party game exclusively on one platform should always look better. I think SMS have done a good job with their multi-plat all told.

I know, i was just mentioning it as i heard everyone raving about its visuals before release.

My point was the exact same time on Hard & Soft tyres.
WTF is going on there?

I think they were raving about the PC visuals which I'm jealous of. PS4 looks decent, but they obviously had to work hard to get it running even as smoothly as it is on all platforms and sacrificed some visual fidelity

Bugs and Problems PS4

1) Career Zolder Historic GT4 Race BMW LP1 - when all cars leave the Pit Garage they sustain damage. I have even had a cracked widescreen on one occasion. If you sit in the pits for a while the car next to me I see crashed as well. (repeatable does it every time)

2) Career Historic Touring Car race - the Escort I am given to drive has all the gear ratios too low and 2nd and 3rd are on top of each other. The only way I can drive this car is to enter the tuning section and hit "Green Triangle" to reset all parameters then it is right for the rest of the session. Next time I restart the career mode it has reverted to the stupid gear ratios again. Also My T300 wheel is saved as 60deg rotated to the left so the car drives straight into the pit wall when it starts. I have to unplug the wheel and let it recalibrate (repeatable does it every time. Car and wheel)

EDIT: Wheel fixed by cycling PS4 on/off not just shutting down to "Rest mode". Also fixed gear ratios by resetting overall diff ratio. I have no idea how it got changed in the first place. What I find hard to understand is why when I reset all parameters why did the change not stay put. I had also noticed tyre pressures not staying as per changes between events. There is still something very weird occurring here.

3) Online Cote Azure GT3 McLaren Gear ratios all screwy - could only use first and second, 1st was too low and 2nd was too tall plus I only could select bumper view. New Lobby, went to Bathurst the McLaren was fine

4) On-Line Bathurst GT3 class I jumped the start and had a drive through penalty BUT when leaving the pits I had no accelerator then I discovered I was given a track cutting penalty. That is NOT COOL to get a penalty for a drive through penalty :-(

5) On-line crashes regularly and there is severe lag every time someone enters or leaves the lobby (repeatable does it every time) BTW Host had 18MB down and 1.6MB up ADSL2 and I have 9MB down and 0.65MB up.

6) PS4 Trophy Gand Chelem I have not gotten it even though I have fulfilled the requirement numerous times in the Clio and Ginetta races.

7) My Fanatec Porsche GT2 wheel is unusable in this game despite SMS and Fanatec saying it is supported. Massive centre free play (dead spot) and no backlit mapped buttons. Luckily I also have a new Thrustmaster T300 that has solved the problem.

As above with Anflaw's post I too get fastest time notifications when 2nd or 3rd fastest
faster and more direct, link or post here too, to share with devs and community:
