It's telling that in spite of all this, many people are really enjoying the game, even when those same individuals have had race-ruining glitches.

Based on impressions from people I trust, I fully expect to enjoy the game myself...but with all of these issues I'm pretty comfortable waiting for a later release for Wii U.

Doesn't make much sense as is. In the case of the bmw the final is not adjustable but all the gears are. The problem is that they can only be adjusted to one of the existing values so you could move 1st up where 2nd is at then 2nd to 3rd and so on up through 6th to get a higher top speed but if you want better accel there is no options at all you could move 2nd-6th down one notch but you end up with 2 first gears and 6th equal to what 5th used to be meaning it doesn't help at all.

Surely if we are to have adjustable gears then we should be able to tweak them in smaller increments. Same for final drive it jumps in large increments surely it can be more fine tuned than that.

It seems pretty sad that they add all of these FFB options that most people do not understand and detailed suspension tuning but drop the ball on gear ratio settings

I remember reading that the only tuning that will be available will be what is available to the real race cars as per regulations, including gear ratio options. This is why some cars have very limited tuning options, and some are much more detailed. Blame real life. This doesn't belong in the bugs thread. If you want to whine about something in the game that you don't like, there's a thread for that.

I am not whining about anything. I am stating a fact that the gearing adjustments are flawed. It is totally nonsensical to have them adjustable but only to what the other gears already are or above the highest gear. There is no way to close the gear ratio at all. If they actually intended for it to be that limited it would have been better to just lock the gears and not allow them to be changed as in that car any change that can be made would just be foolish to do.

They really should allow at the very least to set between two gears

Five lap career race with changeable weather and mandatory stops. The top two drivers win because they take their mandatory pit stops at the end of the final lap, so they cross the finish line before serving their pit stops, winning by 15 seconds.

Also started the race dropping down onto the grid and rolling backwards before the lights went green.

They aren't flawed though, as has been explained to you by a few people now, and if you had done a search before posting you'd know it's meant to be that way, as it's allowed in real life, so then you are just whining about something you don't like, because it isn't a bug or a glitch, it's just something you don't like or don't think should be in the game. As I said, there's another thread for that. It doesn't belong in here.

So in real life there would be some reason to change 2nd gear to the same ratio as 1st gear while not being able to lower 1st gear at all resulting in 2 gears that are exactly the same? Or perhaps there would be some reason to move first gear all the way up to where 2nd gear is and then raise all gears that follow. Neither of which seems realistic at all. No one would ever do either of those in a real car, is basically not adjustable at all.

As for a few people having explained that. One person said something and then you which does not make a few and with your style and attitude in responding then I will just ignore anything you have to say on the matter as clearly you would rather attack than address an issue.

So stop whining about my posts.

Lol as I've said twice, it isn't an issue, and I never attacked you, I stated the obvious, that it has been explained before, and you ignored it and kept whining about it not being right. Just because something is allowed in real life, doesn't mean you have to do it. It was explained months ago that only what's adjustable in real life will be adjustable in the game. All I said to you is there's a thread for whining about things you don't like, since you haven't listened when you were told it's meant to be like that, so it isn't a bug.

Or you know, you could just keep whining about it not being how you'd like it to be.

I would just like to add that real life or not, it's just quite limiting if, for example, we wanted to set the car up for a short track with hardly any straights but lots of tight turns so ideally would have gear ratios that allow good acceleration but sacrifice top speed, and then afterwards set up the ratios for a track with lots of high speed straights so less acceleration but good top speed.

I don't know if this is possible. I can see the final drive slider may make a difference, but when this is adjusted the gear ratios stay the same, it's just a bit odd. I'm going to run some tests to see what difference that final drive slider makes to acceleration and top speed, if there is a difference then I guess adjusting individual ratios may not matter in the end.

EDIT: so I'm just going to adjust the final drive slider if I have to. definitely a big difference in gear ratios if it's changed. just did a few laps round Monza and it felt good with the slider cranked up. completely awful slid down, probably rather obviously.

I also don't understand why we've even got adjustable numbered gear sliders as to move them around seems pointless, the final drive slider takes care of gear change speed itself. certainly worth playing around with.

The Drive button to start a race works on the PRESS of the button. In race functions like view change work on the RELEASE of the button. So if you don't press and release quick enough, the function assigned to X gets run at the start of every race. Quite annoying if you assign it to change view.

Ok I was doing a career race in a GT3 car around Laguna Seca and on Lap 8 the game crashed and brought me back to the Xbox One dashboard this is the second time this has happened to me

Ok Last post related to this. And these are two related bugs.
1: You can using the mouse set the pointer between two gears making it look as though you are selecting a ratio that would fall between them which would make total sense but it does not actually do it. Instead it either sets it to the gear above or the gear below.
2: In some cases you can tap the stick to move up or down on the ratio and it doesn't change. In some case you can hit it twice before it changes and in others you can move it 3 times before it changes.

And BTW insisting that I am whining when I point out what appears to be an issue in the game is attacking, it is insulting, it is in bad taste and it was uncalled for.

IMO there are issues with the ratio adjustments that need to be addressed.

...Project Crash? :banghead: uninstalled until further notice! no replies on their forum and no feedback at all, and no manual, instructions or any kind of support, just google or youtube your way around the game? frustrating on PC and PS4 this game, for me major crashes, major errors, freezes, sounds gone and endless list of things posted by at least 2x dozen people with same issues and most annoying of all, FFB and steering wheel setup...could they have added more options, sliders and other features without explaining a single one of those options? did post my questions on their forum, just to receive no answers and or pointing to the wonderful youtube and world wide web "search". *************🤬🤬🤬**********

forgot to mention here is the thread: http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/forumdisplay.php?121-Technical-Help-amp-Support

:sly:...seems to be a bad start...to say the least for a greatly anticipated game for almost 3 years (i think), hats off to the complete team for the fantastic and beautiful game they have created and given every Racing Sim fan in the world to enjoy realistic driving and racing, really beautiful! at least the little I drove i loved and still love, but the frustration out of it is ruining it all. so back to: rFactor2, R3E, iRacing, Assetto Corsa, GTR2, SimRaceway, LFS and GSCE 👍

I've been getting random "You've set the best lap time" messages in online lobbies during events with qualifying when the times I've set have actually put me 2nd, 3rd etc.

Had a GT3 Race in Brno. Where i could not pit. I went to the pit and the changed tyres but i did not get the go.
Next try i waited for the Stop a little longer every single AI car had the same Problem. So after 15 laps i was the lonely car driving and got DQ because my teammate was sitting in the pit for 8 laps and all the AI cars too.
Also the allmighty AI always knowing what weather it will be and not loosing speed on rain tyres on the dry and vice versa sucks. They seem to be unaffected by Tyre wear.
Sometimes AI sets Qualitimes super slow at 90% had a Q1 and a Q2 both in the dry with more than 4 sec diffrence.
Also Rubberband one guy always stays in your laptime window.
Even at 0% there was always one guy lapping only a few thenth slower than me. We were lapping the field on lap 4.
The most notorious glitch is the rolling start. Which is always a massiv pileup in the end of the pack before it even starts. Cars flying around etc.
Also Replays not beeing watchable from online lobbys.
Other than that a brillant game.

T300 PS4
I'm having really bad vibration in the wheel and it's harder to turn. It's happens about every other session. The FFB telemetry has a white line towards the bottom of the graph that I've never seen before when it's starts to glitch out. Anybody ever hear about this white line?

Well, this game is unplayable for me. Is anyone else experience tremendous lag during braking? Every time I come off the brakes or come onto the pavement after being on the grass, the car lurches forward and the track goes into fast-forward mode as if it was catching up following a major lag spike. What the hell is going on?

Is this XBOX? If yes, this is known and they are working on a fix. Temporary workaround I heard is to plug the controller into USB.

The KERS in Formula B seems broken to me, if you press the KERS button it's all used up in one go.

I'm almost positive to game has double downshifted me on more than a few occasions, need to keep an eye on that one because I'm never usually one to spin under braking.

I've just been playing the game for the past 4 hours (quick race only) and I didn't come across one single glitch. not one! perhaps career mode is more buggy but still, pretty chuffed.

@bleeder we have to do some racing today mate, ok? ;) Don't worry people the game will be patched!!! It's a great start so imagine in a few weeks what it'll be like.................!

Nope, it's a push to pass rather than F1 style kers boost.

Bugs and Problems PS4

1) Career Zolder Historic GT4 Race BMW LP1 - when all cars leave the Pit Garage they sustain damage. I have even had a cracked widescreen on one occasion. If you sit in the pits for a while the car next to me I see crashed as well. (repeatable does it every time)

2) Career Historic Touring Car race - the Escort I am given to drive has all the gear ratios too low and 2nd and 3rd are on top of each other. The only way I can drive this car is to enter the tuning section and hit "Green Triangle" to reset all parameters then it is right for the rest of the session. Next time I restart the career mode it has reverted to the stupid gear ratios again. Also My T300 wheel is saved as 60deg rotated to the left so the car drives straight into the pit wall when it starts. I have to unplug the wheel and let it recalibrate (repeatable does it every time. Car and wheel)

EDIT: Wheel fixed by cycling PS4 on/off not just shutting down to "Rest mode". Also fixed gear ratios by resetting overall diff ratio. I have no idea how it got changed in the first place. What I find hard to understand is why when I reset all parameters why did the change not stay put. I had also noticed tyre pressures not staying as per changes between events. There is still something very weird occurring here.

3) Online Cote Azure GT3 McLaren Gear ratios all screwy - could only use first and second, 1st was too low and 2nd was too tall plus I only could select bumper view. New Lobby, went to Bathurst the McLaren was fine

4) On-Line Bathurst GT3 class I jumped the start and had a drive through penalty BUT when leaving the pits I had no accelerator then I discovered I was given a track cutting penalty. That is NOT COOL to get a penalty for a drive through penalty :-(

5) On-line crashes regularly and there is severe lag every time someone enters or leaves the lobby (repeatable does it every time) BTW Host had 18MB down and 1.6MB up ADSL2 and I have 9MB down and 0.65MB up.

6) PS4 Trophy Gand Chelem I have not gotten it even though I have fulfilled the requirement numerous times in the Clio and Ginetta races.

7) My Fanatec Porsche GT2 wheel is unusable in this game despite SMS and Fanatec saying it is supported. Massive centre free play (dead spot) and no backlit mapped buttons. Luckily I also have a new Thrustmaster T300 that has solved the problem.

As above with Anflaw's post I too get fastest time notifications when 2nd or 3rd fastest

On Road America track we did a 20 lap LMP 3 race with heavy rain, All was fine till it really pissed it down water everywhere so went into pits and put Wet tyres on and that's where it went wrong Non of us could drive the cars (Palmer Jaguar ) on exit of pit lane we all just spun out I use a wheel so can really feather the throttle but no good In 3rd gear at 10 mph very light throttle car just did Do-nuts, 100% undrivable Obviously some sort of bug linked to this track and these cars as ive done several other races with wet tyres on different track with different cars and all was fine.

We chose to use the Palmer Jaquar as its a very drivable and stabled car.

Played for one evening on ps4.

Only bug found was during formula c race at Laguna seca.

Crashed and lost front wheel.

However in game and replay still showed lack of wheel even are visiting pits and driving fine.
