if I'm doing qualifying and overtake another car why do I get blue flags and warnings that a faster car is approaching? I'm the faster car!

Oh dear, solved my issue.:dunce:

I'm not that fast(look at the top time).

Stig just said, "that was a masterful piece of driving" but the text read 'piece of DRIVE'. need to correct spelling.

Is that one of the Stigs talking? Which one? It's as annoying as hell, the last thing I need when I'm concentrating is some bloody southerner pointing out the obvious.

"He's filling your mirrors!"

Okay, I can do the whole mirror-thing myself :D

I'd just won a race at Hockenheim and he said it as I crossed the line

1 hour and 45 minutes into the first endurance category race in career mode (100% distance, 3 hour race). Came in for my second stop of the race. Fresh tires, refilled the fuel, left pit box... Car fell through the road the second the game gave me back control. Was like the tires were not there. Just sank into the floor and lay resting on its bodywork. Couldn't move at all, just sat spinning the wheels and filling the screen with smoke.

I went into the start menu, pressed retire. The AI took control of my car and drove off like nothing was wrong. That's after the 45 minutes of practice and 30 minutes of qualifying i put in for the race.

I felt like I'd been kicked square in the head.

was online with a buddy who has the fancy expensive Fanatec V2 wheel, when we would do rolling starts his car would start the race in reverse gear 9 out of 10 times, other times it would just be a random gear,

Ive been away for the weekend visiting family, only just got back a couple of hours ago; and catching up on the game and tech news. And right here are my thoughts to some of the things going on with regards to Pcars.

Not a surprise to me that people are having issues with project cars, I kept warning people that it wasn't the game they was expecting. But would they listen to me? Nope. These bugs have been in the game since the first playable dev releases where given out to all of us who put into the crowd funding. And this is exactly why I have not used my discount on the full release.

First there is the fact that cars still shoot of into space, sometimes on their own while driving in a straight line. Other times as the result of a crash. The AI still have a tendency to wipe out the entire field, and this can be better or worse depending on the type of cars been used in the race. This is often worse in the faster Formula and LMP type cars. Not to mention the issues with controller inputs not been read properly by the game. It is just as riddled with bugs as the last dev release I played before steam preloading had started on the release version.

I am not saying here that P cars has nothing good to offer, because with certain things the game just clicks and it is perfect. And when in those moments, it is hands down one the best racing games out there. But those moments are so far and few between, it just makes it a chore to play it. Its also impossibly pretty with the graphics, and the FFB is some of the best I have ever felt in a racing game to date. Overall though, those good points can not make up for the glaring issues that are still in this game. Not for me anyway.

If SMS ever fix these issues, I will gladly part with my money for the full release title. But now there is also the fact they are outright blaming AMD for driver issues on PC. I am sorry, but that is just a poor show. Firstly, keep that stuff between yourselves and AMD SMS. And lets not forget here that there was a massive public backing for this game, and along with that came a massive community of pc sim racers; with a massive verity of differing hardware configurations. Both running Intel and AMD CPUS, and AMD and Nvidia GPU's. Only reason this game is having issues at the moment, is because SMS allowed those issues to remain in the game.

Perhaps I am been over critical over the game, but then I did put forward my own money to help this game be built in the first place; and I had high hopes it would be great. And even though I could only put forward a small amount of cash at that time, I remember feeling proud of helping a dev create what should have been an awesome game in the genre I love the most. I just feel severely let down by SMS at this moment in time.

Anyway, I will see what happens in time. Perhaps SMS will surprise me, and they will fix this game up properly. And then I can have the piece of virtual driving and racing heaven that Pcars should have been by now.

A Follow-up:

Lag and stuttering throughout. Watch for the bonus pit bloopers after 6:00

Note: This is not a general complaint thread. If you don't like the game, if you think other games are better, if you wouldn't cross the street to pick up a free copy of Project Cars from Sofia Vergara's cleavage that's fine, just don't complain about it here. If you feel you have the need to vent about something (but not Sofia Vergara's cleavage:sly:) the Great Project Cars Whinging and Crying Thread is the place for that.

I had exactly the same problem mate! You can bring up the HUD with one of the buttons, where you can cycle thru HUD, no HUD and telemetry. If you don't have it mapped to your controller/wheel you can do so in the Controls menu! ;) It seems to be a bug for removing the HUD, but you can bring it back.
Yeah mate, found that on my d-pad on the t300 wheel, pushed the left d-pad and you can cycle through the HUD's displays on screen.
Have to say the info you can see or change to on screen is just great, especially the tyre, brake's and the loads on the car while on track.
I must of changed it while seeing what buttons do what or looking for the rear view when on track.

So far I've not encountered any of the bugs/glitches discussed here except for the call for pits not working (PS4) and of course the engineer coming up with stupid suggestions like "pit now, box, box, box" as I'm approaching the finish on the final lap in first place with second right on my bumper. Like I'm really going to pit then! :banghead:

This game is absolutely full of bugs/glitches. It's still good though, but it could have certainly been left in the oven a bit longer.

Mine:

HUD disappearing, sometimes one thing, sometimes everything
Highlight option at end of race has mind of its own - highlights restart, exit depending how it feels.
Really, REALLY weird bug - I was racing F1 after racing F2 and the F1 was doing same lap time.
Restart race/quali sometimes causes you to sit there on the grid or pitlane doing NOTHING.
Going into car details resets where you're looking in the list after backing out.

That's just off the top of my head. There are more.

In SOLO mode practice...the times are not registering correctly for me.
I pick a car and track, set some clean laps...but the record will have me 5 seconds slower.
If I do 1:20...record time will show 1:25.
If I go to another track and do 1:40....record will show me having done 1:45.

Stats also not registering correctly.
I played 4 hours of career mode last night, did all the qualifying.
Stats said I spent 1 hour, and no qualifying registered what so ever.

Ps4
Career mode
Formula A

The ai doesn't pit during a race, but you have to have your mandatory stop.

Leading twice then had to pit, finished last both times, very annoying and gamebreaking.
Checked Formula B in game rules, there are mandatory stops. Formula A in game rules have no stops, wow what a realistic gamebreaking stupid set of rules.

FFB centre spring effect PS4 T300
Tin tops e.g. capri- the wheel snaps to the centre when slowly accelerating.
Open wheelers e.g. fc- wheel acts as it should.

Is it a bug that I can't go out on the track when joining an ongoing warmup/qualifying session? The option is locked for the duration of the session, all I can do is watch the countdown.

It would be interesting to see if there are more or less bugs in the downloaded vs disc versions.

I was playing last night and chose 4 different weather slots, progression was set to synchronise to race but only the first weather slot came into effect. this happened twice. was only doing 4 lap races at the time, but I thought 4 slots in a 4 lap race would give me 1 weather change per lap. is this not the case? if I sped up to 30x then I'd see the weather change. I'd hoped it'd just work itself out around whatever lap number we chose?

The pit-lane auto drive has stuffed me into a wall on two occasions, using the R8 V10 at Monaco (or "Azure Circuit") and the 300 SEL at Imola. Not sure if it's the cars or tracks that cause it, or how many combinations of them cause it.

A minor glitch is that the rear-view mirror's lighting seems to remain as pleasant and sunny regardless of the weather conditions of the race.

Loaded a race and the engine sounds didn't. Restarting the race from the pause menu did fix the issue though.

I don't know if I missed something, but I pulled out a second place on the last lap of a qualifying session, and Mr. Engineer came over the radio and said "you're starting from P2, that's the front row of the grid, well done" or something. The timing screen came up when the session was over, which showed me in P2, but I then started the race from P3, second row.

I think this is less of a bug and more poor design, but completing a session and quitting from the end of that session will not save that session as complete. You have to click to go to the next session (i.e. through to a race from qualifying), and quit from there, otherwise you end up having to qualify again. It's annoying when you forget... :grumpy:

Also, as a few posters have mentioned previously, I have encountered a number of occasions where the subtitles are wrong, contain errors, or do not match up with the voice clip.

Edit: should note this was all on PC.

I had exactly the same thing mate with the weather not changing at Silverstone in a solo GT3 race....It didn't change throughout.

I think someone else on here said that if you have qualifying on then the weather stays as it was for qualifying during the race.

nice tip. I'll investigate soon as. also that's kinda pointless then if we can have race weather slots that do nothing if we quali. probably the same for practice too.

Mulitplayer - Circuit de Catalunya - Zonda - Entered qualifying ---- no sound

Just to add, although there are still bugs in the game I don't encounter them very often. I've put a lot of hours in so far and the only 2 game breaking bugs I've had are the car flying up in the air for no reason (x1) and the track not loading on multiplayer (x2)

11 of us did raced online for almost an hour yesterday with no problems whatsoever. 👍

Just curious, were these done on fresh tires with the "green" track? Or did you drive for a while on softs then swap to hards while on the same track? Did the conditions (clouds, time of day) change at all? All those things affect grip, for example the longer you and othe cars drive on the track the more "rubbered in" it is, giving you extra grip.

Both done, exactly same conditions, both done on the 3rd lap.
Was trying to set fastest lap and just thought i'd see what the difference between compounds was.

Try it yourself
