The Great Project Cars Whinging and Crying Thread

The best Ferrari themed game ever would like to have a word with you :sly:
A single car? Nope, not even a contender ;) (even if it's my dream car...)

TD:FRL: best car selection, best track selection, best physics, best graphics, best controls (only one without a huge forced steering deadzone), best gameplay...

P.S: Your avatar brings back some memories.... :)

My condolences.

May be a longshot but if you have another pc available maybe try reinstalling the drivers on that one. Dont connect your wheel to it until the installer asks you to.

I had to install the drivers and do the firmware upgrade on 3 pc's before my tx unbricked itself, after it went unresponsive. Just came back to life to my surprise.

Something went wrong with the 1st pc while updating firmware. Second pc was vista. In the end it worked on win7.
Hmm... I have a 10 year old POS PC sitting in the basement that I could try. Were you having the same issue where the power light on the wheel wouldn't even come on?

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but your best off just starting a rma with thrustmaster. You can try until your blue in the face. It's a pretty common issue.

Yep, that's pretty much started. I sent them my purchase invoice and serial number yesterday. It's over a year old (1 year and a month to be exact) so who knows if they'll be willing to do much.

Yep it was bricked properly.

this was my initial email to thrustmaster:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I received my brand new TX 458 wheel today from amazon.com. I immediately updated it to the latest firmware v47. The update appeared to go fine.

Later in the day I wanted to try using the wheel on the pc. I plugged the pedals in, plugged the usb into the pc and the power to the ac outlet. No calibration happened or lights light up on the wheel.
I tried a different usb port and different outlets with no change.

The wheel no longer shows in the Thrustmaster FFB Racing Wheel control panel list or in the device manager HID list either. I saw it in the game controller panel fine after the firmware update earlier. I have restarted my pc since the update.

The firmware updater software appears to recognise that the wheel is plugged in but that appears to be the extent of functionality I have.

I have not plugged it into my Xbox one yet.

Please can you advise how I should proceed to get my wheel to work.

They're pretty unreliable, but when they do work there very good. Fortunately i've gotten a good one this time (as i knock on wood)

It only needs one car, it's that good. Sega's racing games are perfection. Played it a couple weeks ago on my Dreamcast for the first time in forever and the physics are every bit as great, the game hasn't aged at all. And just read that quote on the back of the arcade machine! What a great man Yu Suzuki was.

These ThrustMaster issues are why I went G27, haven't regretted it since.

A new Whinging reason: seeing all these start-up series on GTP, for PS4 users, after having joined the PC Master Race :grumpy:

Great news for SMS on the console-side though, all that activity n' such 👍

RD, Champion, etc. :D

The old console versions of the Sega game aren't even close to touching TD:FRL

But this is far off topic and not nearly whinging and crying enough

This is the only thread where not whinging and crying is off topic

That's an infinite chain of threads that can be made, each one on the ladder/previous thread.

True...I just find it hilarious that we have 8000 threads talking about how great this game is going to be and we have 1 (ONE) thread for complainers, and people can't seem to leave it alone. Even funnier that they call the posters in said thread trolls and telling them to go elsewhere.....Troll recognize troll?

There's a difference in posting concerns and posting nonsense because people seek attention.

Agreed. Constructive, well articulated criticism is always welcome. Probably best to change the title of the thread though if that's what we're looking for in here. Otherwise the title sort of suggests this is a place to regress, maybe.

It's meant to duplicate a GTP thread in the GT6 Forum that exists as a refuge for people to make complaints about the game without fear of being jumped on by the avid game defenders. As outlined in the OP however, it's not a place to troll the game and post invalid or unsupported claims.

Don't like the car list and think it's too small? Valid complaint as it's entirely opinion.
Think the game is Shift 3 yet you aren't a WMD member and the game is unreleased? Not a valid complaint. If you buy the game and play it and still feel that way, vent away, although you'd be better off looking for some help with your setup IMO.

It might be an idea to put in the title or original post "no unjustified shift 3 troll comments"

Right i am back, i have calmed down since the last delay, just looking forward to the 8th May now when i can go to my local store and buy a shining new box, saying project cars all over it!!!!

I got a question, didnt Shift 2 Unleashed have support from real life drivers? I mean, Project CARS have the support of
Ben Collins, etc. so did Shift 2 have any?

I only remember Vaughn Gittin Jr. doing some promotion for S2U.
Thanks but I checked and I'm surprised because after finishing S2U, here are the drivers that I encountered in the game.

- Vaughn Gittin JR.(Drift and Muscle Class) Formula Drift Champ, 2 time D1 All Star Champ
- Darren McManara(Retro Class) Youngest D1 participant to be in Top 8
-Chris Rado(Time Attack Series) Notable for helping during the development of S2U plus Time Attack Champ
-Tommy Milner(Endurance)Former driver for Rahal Letterman Racing for BMW M3 GT2
-Patrick Soderlund(FIA GT3) Placed 2nd overall during Dubai 24 in Team NFS Schulbert BMW Z4 GT3
- Jamie Campbell-Walter(Now defunct FIA GT1)He was a FIA GT champ with Team Lister back in 2000.

Now the reason why I added their notables is because if someone asks why are they famous, notable, etc. So I hope PCars get more support.
