Maybe the kids that got so emotional and bitter over previous delays are now old enough to be able to put computer game release date delays into some kind of actual life perspective.

... I mean, that's probably not the case, but one can hope.

All the while, it's a bit ironic considering someone would go to such great lengths to show the perspective of a photoscape in GTS, 3d model the vehicles to show size, do all kinds of maths and measuring, just because someone didn't agree with the perspective being accurate on it while completely ignoring the obvious things that stand out to try to appear more correct on the subject.

You're just as passionate as these "kids" you speak of, so you're basically in the same crowd you're trying to be snide about.

Funny. You're no different yourself pal, the same guy who told me to "shut up" over a gaming franchise that HE himself is passionate about. So you're basically that "kid" as well buddy.

Honestly, I think GTP is taking this remarkably well. The vast majority of responses to this have been along the lines of "hardly a surprise, PD being PD, nothing to see here". Which while maybe a bit rough, when taken in context of the last decade or so is totally fair.

Personally I think it's more dangerous for Polyphony that people are starting to sink into such apathy about the whole thing. At least if people were legitimately up in arms then it would show that there's still a lot of people that care deeply about the game. That so many people are simply saying "another delay, expected from PD" I think shows that people are finally starting not to care.

Before someone says it, that is not a good thing.

For PD. They were able to enjoy the reaps and benefits of their brand name long enough. All of this whilst not having delivered a game worthy of the name since 2005.

I predict that the game is up for them with this latest fail. Sony would be stupid to keep on losing out on those kind of sales, whilst MS has been making serious money with Forza ever since the Xbox one launched 3 years ago. 4th game launching over there already and apart from Driveclub, Sony has nothing to show for it.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is going to be some restructuring over at PD next year, or Sony might pull the plug all together.

I think it's their last chance. Now, Playstation HQ are in the US and no mercy for first party studios if they fail, even if in the end their game is good and loved by many (Evo Studio...)

I wonder sometimes if they didn't shut down Evo for PD's sake (as in not paying for 2 similar games who steal each others sales). But then Kaz chases his 'vision' again and overhauls the whole concept in favor of an iracing clone with almost no car collecting at all

One disturbing thing I noticed is many of the major gaming websites did not report the delay. I think they did this not because the delay was expected, but because the interest in Gran Turismo isn't what it used to be
Eurogamer, Gamespot, IGN, Polygon and many others have reported on the delay.

Yes. I mean, God forbid that a "grown up" should enjoy or invest emotional attachment to a video game. That's strictly for kids. "Grown ups" don't do things like that, they do "grown up" things like go to the footy and get drunk and get into fights.

How about you just accept that some people like games. That is their hobby. They enjoy getting excited about a big new release. They love getting up early so that they can download it the moment it goes love, and jump on with all the other people to discover things for the first time. They want to devote hours to exploring and enjoying the game.

How about you get it through your head that it's just as acceptable for a "grown up" to enjoy these things as it is for a child? I bet you also mock "grown ups" who like model train sets, or remote control planes, or lego. God forbid that these "grown ups" should do things that they enjoy. They should be at nightclubs and concerts with all the other unoriginal hipsters.

Hmmm, you were so busy putting two words I never said in quotation marks, you missed the obvious part of what I was saying. PERSPECTIVE. I don't really care what it is that people enjoy, what I find increasingly.... unfortunate... is people's inability to have a measured response to things... and in that respect, I stand by the sentiment of what I said - the older you get, the more you realise what the things are in life that are actually worth stressing over.

That's not irony dude. I saw a claim being made and accepted as fact by those that relish the opportunity to criticize things and I was curious about it, since it had not previously caught my eye. The reason why I went to reasonable lengths to demonstrate what I was saying, was because I was keen to investigate what the issue was. If you can't see the difference between my wanting to investigate it, and people going full BS and claiming they feel physical sickness symptoms because a photo of a car, then I'm not sure why you aren't on my ignore list yet. I like photography, I do a little 3D modelling (both the mini and the 458 GT were downloaded from Sketchup warehouse though), so it's an interesting topic to me. I made my position perfectly clear in the thread, I investigated it for myself, came to a conclusion that was demonstrably founded on more sound reasoning than other peoples, and said I would be happy to change my mind if it was proven to the contrary.

And....

Funny. You're no different yourself pal, the same guy who told me to "shut up" over a gaming franchise that HE himself is passionate about. So you're basically that "kid" as well buddy.

I don't recall, but I would hope it was not because of the gaming franchise I told you to "shut up", but more because of a continued lack of substance or logic to your posts. If it wasn't, then apologies, it was probably my fault for un-ignoring posts... which I keep doing dammit.

Aaaaannndd...

Indeed. High Five.

It is quite literally very ironic. You're talking about people being passionate about a game. You exhibit the very same symptoms. Irony.

Now, is it a problem that you're passionate? No, not at all. Just don't be so quick to jump on people when you yourself go to lengths about this game as well.

My criticism is not of people that are passionate about the game! Where did I say people that are passionate about a game are the problem? It's a DELAY. A delay to a heart transplant could be fatal. A delay to a job offer or booty call might miss you the best opportunity of your life. A delay to a train might mean you miss a fresh pizza, and put up with a re-heated one. A delay to a game.... tell me, how bad is that?

Yet in your old age you haven't manaaged to shake the habit of HAVING to respond to those who say nasty things about your favourite game. If you were really that chilled in your old age you wouldn't be bothering yourself with the sheet on this forum. You're no different to any other game forum crusader ;)

Nevermind some of the things you say in this forum, most of the people here have probably seen your posts in the automotive forums when someone says something mean about a BMW. Some of them might have even seen the flip out rage quit from the forum you did last year because a discussion in the opinions forum didn't go your way; especially since you made sure to make it as visible as possible. You can get off your high horse any time.

Unless you think something like this:
I wish you'd shut up with your bitching, You are so full of **** you get the Johnny Penso seal of approval.

And yes I'll take infractions for that, the worst thing about GT these days is nothing to do with the game on your PS 3, it's the **** that is spewed forth in this 'community' by people that pretty much already gave up on the game.
Is "a measured response to things."

The fact that you cant put the two together isnt surpising, considering how you willfully ignore things that go against your point. Your issue is with people getting pent up about what you think is an insignificant problem, the delay. However, those same people are the ones that are likely passionate about it, hence why I used the term.

The reason it's ironic of you is because a delay of a game is significantly more of a problem than the accuracy of a photo within that game, yet you went the whole 9 yards on the subject(again, ignoring the fact that the perspective of the rear was way off) and thats why you fit perfectly into the description. Ironic.

So yeah, delay of a game? Its definetely tenfold more significant than a photo, I can tell you that much.

So, for now I will just call you a fool, and a liar. Which... based on your example I get to do without posting any evidence.

Aaaaannndd...
Doesn't matter, cause even if you find one's post lacking logic or substance, regardless if it had any or not, you still have no reason to silence any user on any discussion board. Also, apology accepted.

And evidence? Heh, it was right in front of our faces after the beta that was "promised" to come out early spring, got cancelled to get the game out for November. And then what happens? The dev delays the game all together it. Extras belows.

GT6 was set to get better engine sounds, AI and so forth.

GT6 sounds maybe included in a major update. There was plenty of big updates, but the sound changes never occured or lacked a difference.

And there is much more that others long ago or recently mentioned in the forum. So, no need to repeat the words that were erased. :sly: You don't need to reply to this, since I have better things to do than to snide other members or go into the lengths to demonstrate an example over a picture. ;)

A delay to a booty call might miss you the best opportunity of your life.

Really?

A delay to a train might mean you miss a fresh pizza, and put up with a re-heated one. A delay to a game.... tell me, how bad is that?

So getting laid, or eating a pizza, are two things you would be more upset about missing out on, than not getting one of your favourite videogames?

Some people have been literally looking forward to this game for years. A videogame can give someone, especially a big fan of said game, hundreds of hours of enjoyment. Sex gives you what? half an hour of fun? Pizza about the same.

Now, you're not talking about not getting something at all, you're talking about getting something later than expected. In your own example, you get the pizza cold, and have to re-heat it, and that's somehow more of a problem to you than getting a videogame you've been potentially looking forward to for years, months later than you expected.

Big game franchises like GT release a game once every few years, in that time you can get laid and have pizza literally hundreds of times lol.

Tell me what my favourite game is again? Also, show how many internut forum posts I've made about it...

Wait.. wut... if you want to have an argument about BMW model designations, take it to the 4-er cool wall thread, GCF, Bimmerpost, or BMWBlog... if your case against me relates to GTS, then explain it here... better.

(again, ignoring the fact that the perspective of the rear was way off)

Ignoring the rest of your post 'cus you never did prove this.

M'eh.

Tell me again, you know these people are stressing about a delay in there personal lives because they posted about new information on the internut?

Your eyes work dont they? All you have to do is literally look at it  still, there where others in the thread that also confirmed it with measurements as well, so again, its not surprising that you'd go on and ignore more

Glad to know you understood what i was saying about you, and that you don't disagree.

 So GT7 should come out on the PS5 by 2020 then
And yes that includes a few delays, its gt after all;)

Well I'm assuming it's a just a convenient placeholder until another date is announced. Won't be surprised if it's December 30th 2017 at 11:59 pm :D

I'm really not sure where anybody got the idea it was suddenly acceptable to resort to name-calling (multiple times no less). Infractions handed out: continue the behaviour and more will be.

We can move away from... whatever this is, and back onto something at least resembling the point of the thread.

So I got an email from Amazon saying not to expect GT Sport until December 29, 2017.

Oh boy.
I suspect that PS4 prices will go down by then? No worries for me, I still got half a year left of university if it were to be released on December 2017. :indiff:

I'm really not sure where anybody got the idea it was suddenly acceptable to resort to name-calling (multiple times no less).

Well, just FYI, it was precedent mostly, from my part at least... though since the post I was clearly using the words from was edited also, I'm guessing this "idea" is actually known anyway.

Maybe its too much to ask for. . . you know, hoping the "gaming media" actually ask Sony execs whats going on regarding GTSport. I would love to hear Shawn Laydens opinion.

If I were one of the Sony execs right now, I would probably take Kaz aside and tell him that his seat on the board may be revoked if he doesn't get his crap together and release a game on time that isn't also completely broken.

You know your studio is doing something wrong when smaller, third party devs can deliver a finished game in a more timely manner than a long time first party dev can. But what's most laughable to me is that we're talking about a prologue, and not a full title; you'd think that with a cut down amount of content that they've been working on for a while now that they would also cut down the production time as well, but I guess that wasn't a part of the plan.

Hmmm, you were so busy putting two words I never said in quotation marks, you missed the obvious part of what I was saying. PERSPECTIVE. So by inference, video games are never worth stressing over but sex and pizza are.

I maintain my disdain for your idea of what it means to be a "grown up". I think it's far more sensible to be emotionally involved in an exciting product that you may use for hundreds of hours than it is whether you get your willy wet tonight.
