Did you do some chassis swap as well? That will also make the handling of your car better, as long as you choose one from a race car.As an update to this thread: I've been adding and hybriding cars here and there. Started off a few brand-new games. I'm one of the 'realist' players, I guess. I made a '89 Mitsubishi Galant ES for instance, to compete more fairly with beginner B-spec races. Dropped a Mitsubishi Mirage Cyborg engine in, so it went from about 202 hp to 167. Also made it into a front-drive. All of this is similar to what could happen in real-life (sort of). Galants were either front drive or AWD, and there were lots of different engines available. The turbo engine that the Galant engine comes with merely happens to be the most powerful, I think. Which makes sense because Mitsubishi / PD would not want to offer anything but the best, or close to the best.
I think it's not possible through normal circumstances. But doing some engine upgrades, like upgrading Stages 1-3, can increase the overall engine redline. Is it possible to change the RPM limits on an engine? I have a 900 horsepower BMW S85 V10 engine swapped into the Formula Gran Turismo chassis, and I want to increase its RPM limit to 18k to simulate an old F1 car.
I think there are 3 kinds of players of Grand Turismo. (1) Gamers who like to compete against other gamers giving little attention to additional features offered in Gran Turismo. (2) Motorheads that love everything to do with horsepower and style who like to tune or modify their cars, to attain more cars to tune and modify. (3) Amateur racers who like to use GT as a kind of simulator to learn things and supplement their real life activities such as learning track layouts or how different settings affect performance.
My brother is also a mix of 2 and 3, he likes to have everything but only to have more cars to take around the Nurburgring. He has ran this track almost exclusively for hours on end since GT4 and knows every inch of the track, constantly racing his own ghost to improve his time. I suggested he enter some online races but he isn't interested in competing only in escaping into his zone of Nurburgring. I think he's crazy but he is very good at that track. Just when I think he's going to go careening off into the grass, he wiggles his car back onto the line and still manages to beat his own time again. Then watches his replay to look for places he can do better. I guess everyone has their favorite track, I like Monaco a lot and Laguna, but I gotta have that garage full of cars in my favorite colors or else.I am thinking there is also a fourth type of player: those who merely B34t the game, sometimes trying to get as many trophies as they can, before moving on to the next game. Online play has probably kept a lot of these gamers from just moving on.
I am definitely a mix of 2 and 3, but I tune within certain limits. I won't just bring something fully-tuned into the Sunday Cup, for instance. I am not interested in just defeating races, I like using the minimum amount of tuning I can to get by, I want to be challenged. I also like to know as much about the car I'm driving as I can read. Even in an Alto Works or whatever, I want to know the history of this car, the sort of buyer who drives one, its real-life driving capabilities, and so on.
Nope, every car was available from the get go, no strings attached. The only problem I have for Gran Turismo 6 was the beginning start, along with Sport. You cannot buy your first vehicle to be different, thus your play style would change.was there an online dealer like GT5?
You can buy some in GT6, costs a lot in some cases but pretty good feature compared to randomly getting outfits. Also what about Helmets and Outfits? Are those available also? It took me a LONG time to get them all in GT5.
Don’t delete your save data. Your save data can work on all versions . 2.11 is Update 23 on the original disc.GTV. Thanks for the reply. OK, so that means by deleting all GT5 game files on my PS3 will take my GT5 back to the original load version, and I will need to start the process of obtaining my licences and experience etc. I then start the update process again, but..keep checking the game data to see where it is at and stop at 2.11. OK will attack that this week end.
Is there a 'reliable' place to download GE 1.3.1? I think I read some where on this thread, there was no manual with the GE 1.3.1

Thankyou and replied to you.I have sent you a link via PM.
Ummm, ok I have been looking at my PS3 system. I can see where the PS3 has updated itself to 3.56. I have no idea where to find the GT5 version number. I have not updated it at all...to my knowledge.
I also had a look for game files? I did manage to 'backup' the PS3 to a file on a thumb drive. It created a structure like PS3>EXPORT>BACKUP>12DIGIT NUMBER. over 5 archive files consuming 6.56GB
I suspect I need to find another 'smaller' data file for the GE to work? Looking about, I could not find any. I am sure it is staring me in the face.
My PC will not read the GT5 disc to see what files are on it.
Yes you can and when you get the updates downloading, when the update reaches 13 I think press start then press O on your controller to stop further updates. Then go to the menu of the system and then find your game data utility, press game data utility, once in there then press on triangle to find what update version you are on. If you are on 2.11 just disconnect from the internet.Does this mean PS will update the PS3 to the latest patch? Is there a way I can stop the update at 2.11? The manual refers on page 28 to updates.
Your GT5 save should be in the Save Data Utility, all you need is a USB to copy it to the device, and the put the USB in your PC.Thanks fordlaser. On Monday, I will get the PS3 hooked up with a cat6 cable rather than wifi(today, being a weekend, only runs at 37%), and a hard cable will give me more control over the update connection, as well as more grunt. Wife will not take too kindly to pulling the plug on wifi.
Did you see my second question...regarding the PS3 internal memory cards? Do I need to do anything?
I will get my PS3 internet connection working better next week and update GT5, The manual says not to interrupt the update process or dire things may happen, which sort of sounds obvious. but in this case, it has to be interupted to stop at 2.11...Anyway, I will report back when net working a tad better.Your GT5 save should be in the Save Data Utility, all you need is a USB to copy it to the device, and the put the USB in your PC.

I got the original disc, and I got up to update 13 or 14 to get to 2.11.Don’t delete your save data. Your save data can work on all versions . 2.11 is Update 23 on the original disc.
That seems to be the XL Edition, I have that. The original disc has more updates.I got the original disc, and I got up to update 13 or 14 to get to 2.11.

Yeah, GT5 should have with that disc 24 to 26 updates if I remember correctly. I original had GT5 back in 2010 got the XL in 2013.GT5 disc purchased in 2010?
