The last 5 years? I believe that's maybe a copy and paste for the Gt5 whinging.

It has been 3 years since GT5.

Also the original "what have they been doing the last 5 years" line that everyone used for GT5 was also wrong. The dev time there was about 2 years.

How about what have they been doing for the last 8 years then? Is GT6 8 years worth of work better than GT4? I'm not entirely sure that it is.

The new interview is really disheartening. They're worried about creating stars and planets accurately? Why not worry about the other issues in the game?

And the worst of it all: 'we're not in a rush'. You really should be. The competition is already on next gen hardware while your going to spend the next 12 months updating a game on a dated 7 year old piece of hardware. GT is so far behind whats expected in a racing simulator I doubt they can catch up in one more game. So they do need to be in a rush.

Why doesnt Sony step in? Im starting to think GT is Kaz's day job but his real passion now is racing, red carpet events, etc. Maybe its time for him to step down? He created Gran Turismo and in the past I've enjoyed it immensely. I thank him for that. However maybe its time he hands the reigns over. All the issues the game has come back to him. Theres really no excuses. Hes had the time and the support to at least attempt to fix the biggest issues such as sound and AI, yet his team continues to focus on graphics and physics, when nobody really complained about those things as much as sound and AI.

Kaz is a made man. He's wealthy and set for life. Hes likely more interested in rubbing elbows with Adrian Newey or having his photo taken with Jay Leno then spending 5 minutes to read this forum.

And you know what? Thats fine. He doesnt have to put Gran Turismo first in his life. Just hand the reigns over to someone else, and stay onboard as an advisor or something. I want to support Gran Turismo, I want to buy the latest wheel, all the DLC, the games, buttons, bobble heads, foam fingers, whatever, but the decisions being made at PD are making that very difficult.

Personally I'm going to wait until GT6 drops to five pounds or less, baring in mind I played GT since the PS1 demo and bought a PS3 for GT5 that's pretty shocking. GT5 was such a disappointment it was the last game I ever buy new. GT6 will be such a better game in a years time, after they address the alarming number of issues written on these forums and once they add in course maker and other nice features (assuming they will). I feel sorry for those with no internet access as they will be forever stuck with a broken game. It really is getting to the point where we have to ask the question - can PD make a game that is not broken?

This is probably the first GT game I'm going to wait a few months on before buying, plus one of my friends bought it already since I got them into the series so I've already had a shot at playing it. And that is part of the reason why I'm going to wait and buy it. Hopefully a few patches help, but if it is anything like 5 who knows. I don't want to see a patch fix and then that patch cause something to become distorted and need fixing. In other words the whole patch fix-creates a new problem circular cause and effect we had in GT5

Wasn't that more to do with the way GT5 was coded. With GT6 Kazunori-san said the coding has been revamped to allow updates that don't cause them problems.

We'll have to wait and see wont we? I'm saying I don't want to see it, which is completely different from we will see it is all.

So have you bought it yet then?

And one of the greatest reasons GT6 is selling well right now is the fact that it is the only one of his kind on Playstation.
People saying about pricing, there's a lot of better racing sims on PC for a much lower price. And their only disavantages are the number of cars and tracks.

Same old stuff at GT5, it isnt really grabbing me at the moment, some of the interaction is good, but in all fairness its still the same tracks, same races. Dont think ill be playing this one as much as the old one, which is a shame. No B spec, No endurance races, same boring tracks, oh look, there's the off button...........................................

GT5's development being 2 years is in no way a fact.

If you you count from when the project started, which would be just before GT5P was released, then yes.

If you want to include all the work starting back from GT HD, then no. But how far do you go back then? The source of the standards back from GT4/3?

The point made by everybody when they start whining about "what they have been doing the last X years?" is to reinforce to the forum (in exaggerated terms) their opinion that nothing has been done by PD since the last instalment - when said poster last took to the keyboard to whinge. As if 150 people are sat around doing nothing. It's a silly assertion that just because the stuff that you wanted changing didn't change that no work, or no good work, was done.

I think going back to the start of the development of the game whose entire point was to act as a developmental preview of the ultimately released final title, which was started in earnest upon the cancellation of GTHD, would be a good baseline.

Spec 2.0 took nearly a year to release so I wonder whether that should count as part of the development time?
It surely does, they aren't a big studio with lot's of manpower so patching up their current game takes up resources. Bet they are gonna spend 2014 updating GT6 with DLC and patches, which will then jeopardize development for GT7 in turn, if they still refuse to hire extra people or outsource.

Being pushed to release on next gen by Sony, I think they are just gonna port over all premiums we have now like they did from GT4 to 5, and rework a couple of tracks as these cannot be permitted to look PS3 anymore. In the end I think they will release a FM5 style game late 2014 (GT prologue anyone?) with not too much content, and I'm afraid not too much improvements neither as they simply won't have the time. Imagine if they port over the sounds also...

Anyway just looking in my glass ball here ;)

I wonder how much GT7 will sell by then?

Just checking in again, looks like GT6 was a failure after all judging by the reviews and feedback on GTP, i remember the fanboys saying "wait until it's released" concerning the engine sounds and a number of other issues, once again Kaz delivers with nothing but false promises. GT6 was the only game that could have possibly pulled me away from my PS4, after seeing it's more of the same i'm glad i don't have to deal with the PS3 and it's terribly dated and sluggish user interface and online functionality anymore, see you on PCars and DriveClub!

I don't know if you enjoy JRPGs, but if you do there's a reason to keep your PS3 since Persona 5 launches next year on it.

Added my long moan on a separate thread earlier - sorry. But to add my main issues here - add me to the long list of very disappointed GT6 users. My biggest gripe and complaint is the poor racing AI. The races are just way to easy to win - I am typically in the lead before the end of the first lap for goodness sake! There seems to be NO way to set racing difficulty level in game apart from in Arcade mode, and that is hopeless. Even set to Professional Level and AI to 10 it is still no where near challenging enough. Didn't anyone at PD test these things? Come on - it should be easy to fix this. Make the game at least a challenge to play for pity sake! Honestly - it's really NO FUN!

Will PD and Sony please tell us that they WILL fix this issue in a patch SOON before I finish the game - which at this rate will be far too soon!

Please also consider an alternative the dull rolling starts. Make it an option if you want - but why not have a grid start? Would make the race starts more exciting - so long as the opponent AI is challenging enough and you match us up with cars of same Performance and drivers with a will to win! Honestly - it can't be that hard to do - you have had plenty of time to spend on this. Put your attention where it is really needed and you could have a really great game. Unless this is properly fixed I could never justify buying GT6 for the PS4. Take a look at games like GRID - at least there the racing is FUN and challenging.

Also - where are the Porsche cars? What happened there?

Fanboy answer would be that they made the game accessible for everyone, meaning 3 year olds also need a winning chance! And why don't you detune your car and put crap tyres under it, or play online???
