Anyone know how I can improve the graphics and stop the flickering? It's actually really putting me off driving. It seems to be worse than in GT5 and added to the screen tear and slow down and pop up it's too much.

I mean by changing setting like PNR on my TV or some of the other settings on the PS3 and in game. Is there a conbination of brightness, sharpness and contrast and stuff that works best? What combination works best?
any screenshots ? i have seen a lot of blurry pics and videos from gt6 , this is probably the game issues than the tv, you could try reducing the output to 720p instead of 1080p and see the difference

GT 5.5? I hope not.

Lets face facts. PS3 is an obselete piece of kit.
1 3.2GHZ Power 5 CPU and 6SPUs that are non independent. All instructions are fed through the Power 5 core.
It has a crap (by2013s standard) GPU, an Nvidia 7800GTX GPU and split memory pools of 256MB XDR@3.2ghz and 256MB DDR3.

Its a mess, YET, Guerilla Games, makers of Killzone series ported their PS3 engine unto PS4. They had a press conferance today detailing it.

The PS4 has 8 Cores, each between 1.6GHz and 2GHz.
8GB GDDR5 ram at 176gb/s
and a HD7850 GPU.

What they did was basically emulate the PS3 instruction set on PS4 by having 6SPUs emulate by the 6CPU cores on PS4 to distribute the CPU loads. They used the remaining two PS4 CPU's to emulate the POWER PC Core, and then ofloaded the rest to the GPU.

SO, why didnt PD announce GT6 being cross-gen if its that simple to do????
The PS4 Graphics Card is literally 10× the power of PS3s AND, there is a unified pool of memory.
I am disappointed. I really am.

First GT I may skip......... :(

Does your TV have any kind of enhanced contrast setting? If so turn that off. It usually causes flickering for me on PS3 or TV content.

Not got any screens or videos. Seems a bit of a step down to go to 720p but thanks for the suggestion anyway. Yes I think it might just be game issues as well.

I think when I put my tv on a setting called 'dynamic' that it turns up the contrast. So you reckon high contrast is worse? I'll give it a try switching between the higher contrast settings and low contrast settings.

I'm guessing lower sharpness will be better. I have noise reduction on and I'm sure I have some sort of smoothing thing turned on via the PS3.

Ugh this is so bad why did they do this.

My bravia has a setting that dynamically adjusts the contrast depending on the brightness / contrast of the source, if that is what your dynamic setting is doing, you want to find a setting that has a fixed static contrast setting

One: The RUF RGT is a semi-premium, of course its not going to have any aero parts. If it did, it would be only wings.

Two: It's pretty obvious that the MP4-12C won't have any aero parts other than wings. I mean, look at the SLS AMG, same thing with only one front bumber aero part.

Three: We did have "Shift" modifications from GT5, but not all cars had one. For example, you can transform a premium Lotus Elise into a racecar, but not a Audi R8. In GT6, there now seperate, besides, in GT5 the race-modification was pretty half-assed anyway, so PD didn't bother continuing with that in their latest game.

Final: Sorry you had to disappoint yourself.

I knew not to expect full aero upgrades for the RUF, but not even a wing? Come on man. I thought they had added stuff like that to the game. I played the **** out of GT5 and knew not all the cars had all the upgrades, but I thought three years later there would be a bit more content all around for all the cars. I was sadly mistaken.

If you you count from when the project started, which would be just before GT5P was released, then yes.

If you want to include all the work starting back from GT HD, then no. But how far do you go back then? The source of the standards back from GT4/3?

The point made by everybody when they start whining about "what they have been doing the last X years?" is to reinforce to the forum (in exaggerated terms) their opinion that nothing has been done by PD since the last instalment - when said poster last took to the keyboard to whinge. As if 150 people are sat around doing nothing. It's a silly assertion that just because the stuff that you wanted changing didn't change that no work, or no good work, was done.

Sounded like a lot of moving the goal post, but meh.

I know right? To be honest, that is rather disappointingl.

To think it had a wing in GT5 :(

Nevermind. PS4 already will have a contender for Gran Turismo. Project Cars is the name of the game, and it will probably best GT7 on nearly every aspect, so enjoy your GT on PS3 while I'll enjoy myself on the PS4.

NFS: Rivals on PS4 is better than GT6, and i'll be the first to admit it's not an AA game by any means.

The semi-premium talk is nice, but it's still not a premium, and that's a problem....at least for RUFs that have been around since GT3. Premium = quality and equality. Semi-premium is second class. RUF is first class. Let's make some RUFs premium.

PD is licking their lips as their DLC arsenal probably has a few on tap.

Well sir, I should have you know, Ive since purchased GT6 and Im loving it! Looking foward to the true next gen iteration on PS4. Given what they have accomplished with GT6 on PS3 and its paltry 512MB of ram (-70MB for OS and it being split) super impressed!

It would be nice to see wider tires, it would make tuning cars more interesting, and hellaflushing cars could be done.

It would be nice to see tyres that actually took the stock width of the wheels fitted to the car into account. A car with 285s on it should have more grip than a car with 185s, unless the suspension is set up really wrongly.

Now, looks like the A.I. is programmed to let people win the races. Jesus, I hated GT5, but at launch, there was by no means the amount of complains GT6 is currently having.

I'm loving it too, my post was a response to why GT6 was not released on ps3 and 4, I've got no real complaints, great game : )

Think we'll ever hear something like this from PD?

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-12-12-fixing-forza-5-how-turn-10-wants-to-turn-things-around

To me it's about the community. Review scores are what they are, and I appreciate that feedback, but they don't represent the diversity of who's playing, so the community and what they're doing and how they're playing is what I spend more of my time looking at.

My biggest hope is that we can win back the fan's trust - we didn't do this for any other reason besides getting people excited about cars and games, and whenever we work against that purpose we take that very seriously, because it's not our intention, and we're going to make changes as needed.

When I read the reviews there's a split between those that evaluate the game as not Forza Motorsport 5 but a great racing game at the launch of the Xbox One, and those that reviewed the game as the sequel to Forza Motorsport 4 as if it was on the Xbox 360.

Basically sums up the "There's only 200 cars and 14 tracks in there" complaint, I think Dan's biggest mistake was that he didn't put something behind the name like "Forza Prologue" but called it FM5. Then people wouldn't have expected a sequel, but a launch/ next gen game and wouldn't have been as disappointed with the lack of content.

Anyway the man speaks clear language in all his interviews, a relief from all the secrecy and hypothetical talk Kaz spits out.
