How anybody could be so weak as to be bothered by someones post in this thread is beyond me . I can understand wanting prove ect.
In another thread , but here , seriously ? This is the thread for getting your emotional frustration out . Grow a pair !!!

Thank you Concreterain! I agree and what I've been trying to say after I caused the mess in the first place by saying I believed it was stupid to close of the 1.06 update discussion thread
There's more to constructivity than stating known facts. But if it suits you to not read anything the staff wrote and pretend we're idiots, so be it.Unfortunately people chose to turn it into a thread discussing anything but the update. Again. Despite being warned about it in the v1.05 thread.

I'm happy for anyone who doesn't like the game or some perceived aspect of the Sony marketing of it to say so. I'm not happy for them to turn any useful thread into a platform for their ire without any regard to the actual topic of the thread.

But right there they said themselves - it happened in the previous ones and if there's one thing humanity hasn't learnt is that history repeats itself.

Good points. That might explain all of the product placement in GT6. I'd love to know how much they get to have cars featured in Seasonal Events, Recommended Cars and Vision GT.

What I was getting at when Imari was mentioning GT6 only has 2million or so sells compared to other GT titles and saying they've probably lost revenue. True but like you said, I'm sure PD have made enough by the points you have made alone to cover the developmental costs not including sale revenues. :cheers:

He has NOTHING better else to do, but honestly he does make me laugh..... at him that is.

Well, at least I put a smile on your face..

PS4 has sold 6,56 million consoles.
PS3 has sold 83,63 million consoles.
So, your "under the circumstances" statement is not making any sense. The big and vast majority of people decided to stay on the PS3 for now. And I really doubt that all the people that purchased the PS4 sold their PS3 either. (Or went broke because of it)

Actually your statement is incorrect. It's : "The PS4 is the fastest selling console in history if we account the first 24 hours." That being said, that point, your point, is not relevant to the topic at hand. Not even close.

Errr. ALERT FANBOY SPOTTED!

You're a funny guy fredy

I think it was my disappointment with GT5 that was part of the reason for my joining.

I lurked a bit before then, but with GT4, aside from some shortcomings in the physics and the famously poor AI, I thought it was great for its time. Maybe my expectations for GT5 were too high, but I certainly was not alone in that regard.

I personally feel that the PS3 has been a bit of a let down when it comes to racing games in general. There were a lot of racing games I really enjoyed on the PS2 and it felt like the genre was constantly getting better. Many of the developers changed the kind of game they were making when it came to the PS3/360 generation. Codemasters is a great example as they ditched their semi-sim rally approach for the more arcadey Dirt series, and Toca for Grid . It seems every game has to be accessible to the masses now. I can understand this from a business perspective, but some of the best games are the ones that are unapologetically what they are (if that makes sense).

In retrospect, I would have tried to scrape together the cash to buy myself a Fanatec wheel and an XBOX 360 (in addition to the PS3, not instead of) as I will not deny that Forza appeals to me. I own a PC too, and while I'm not of the "PC master race" persuasion, I feel it is the platform I am most optimistic about at the moment for racing titles.

PS2 was a great platform:

* Enthusia
* Kaido
* Total Immersion Racing
* 24 Heures du Mans
* Gran Turismo 3 / 4
* Toca Racerdriver 1 / 2 / 3 -> 3 had very nice sounds!
* CMR 4

It's a bit what pops into mind. With Toca3 and Enthusia I had an absolute blast. Toca3's online gameplay worked very well and the selection of cars and tracks was very very good! Liked the story mode 👍

Seems PCars is going a bit into that direction as well.

A positive post in Whining an crying.....:eek:

From what I've seen of the intent of the coming update, it'll be useless for me. I'll admit if I cared about being a "world famous GT player" I'd spend much more time with this game perfecting setups and making sure I have every "best line" worked out, and therefore I'd be getting possibly double the enjoyment out of this game as is currently the case. But my desire to buy this game rested nearly entirely on driving cool cars at cool locations and having my own private world-class collection of some of the greatest cars in history. This update does nothing I'm aware of to enhance that. PD has no doubt by now seen the uproar, heard the outcry, felt the heat with unit sales (all the while knowing many of those are multiple sales to single individuals for triple screen play and defect returns from those whose PS3s had some sort of problem reading the discs) and while a few fixes here and there for wonky physics has been downloaded to us, IMO far too many still exist to be anywhere near happy about a feature I've never even seen wished for on these forums. What next, PD, birds flying across the landscape to tax the capabilities of my PS3 yet that tiny bit more? This game needs more realistic mechanical breakdown of the tuning options, better organization of the user interface menus (count me as fan of GT5's homepage; though I do like the development of having the menu from the Start button, I'm confused as to the unavailability of that feature while at the car selection page), either better innate AI or a method for us the players to adjust the competition level, and we get a Stig to show us up. I watched the video attached to the announcement and unless there's some button the demo doesn't show going to a much better data analysis tool it's all just more shiny bits and useless twits type of stuff. It's painfully obvious at times no one with veto power at PD actually ran through this game before delivering it. A virtual 7-post machine would be HUGE to get a better overall idea of how the changes we make in tuning might affect the car on-track. See, I'm not adverse to improving my performance, but I'm not a copycat. I don't need to feel I'm walking in the footsteps of the greats of motorsports. Does Jackie Stewart at least commentate on what the compubot is doing so much better than us? I may do something this time I've never done before. If I read on here that the update fixes nothing, just delivers this gaudy bauble, I may seek how to avoid accepting this update without ruining what precious little of the game I do enjoy.

I fully agree with you. I also don't think this feature is particularly useful at this moment (meaning GT6) and would much rather like to see PD improving the core game experience. However, I am curious what this feature can do in the next two generations of GT. It has never been done before so we have no idea what that might lead to.

Btw: Your post was very hard to read due to the lack of paragraphs.

The new patch comes out tomorrow, we will have to see what it entails? On that note does anyone have more info on what's to be included besides the visualizer? Also what time is the patch meant to be released also - haven't really touched it since 1.05

On the 7th so the day after tomorrow depending where you are. At the moment there is no information about any other content and actually no information about it at all besides the Japanese GT website.

Still haven't found a compelling reason to buy GT6, I may end up skipping it altogether. I hope all these sheep that bought GT6 on day one that kidded themselves that PD would give us all these wonderful updates have learned their lesson.

PD you have to work very hard with GT7 to impress us, pretty, shiny graphics may not work this time around (I hope not anyway).

The best reason is the physics. So when you race online and are lucky not to encounter bugs too frequently, GT6 can be pretty great. When you mostly do single player, yeah just skip it.

Can someone remind me when they kill GT5. I want to ensure I have everything installed so that I actually have all the content I paid for. Is it the end of April or May?

That's really something difficult to remain in, especially to PD. :)

Yep. I don't think I'll be making any changes anytime soon too, unless PD makes a change first, I'll continue to be PessimisToko. ;)

Also, I like that avatar. Looks cool. 👍

True. Everything depends on PD.

And thanks for the compliment on the avatar. :cheers:

Now that I know a little more about the data logger, i'm confident enough that maybe 10 - 15 people out of the 2, 64 millions that got the game will be able to use that feature.

USELESS word is taking all it's meaning here.
