Linky link link. I don't really trust that Kaz has ever said this.

You should know me better than that. I haven't be able to find the article, I'm sorry. I'm not sure if the article was on here, or Gamespot, but I remember quite fondly that the journalist asked KAZ if he was going to stay with Sony. You have to remember that the PS3 just came out, and Sony was losing exclusives by the millions (Final Fantasy, GTA, MGS, etc) the answer was something like : "Right now, we have a good partnership with Sony, but I'm not closed to releasing GT franchise on another Platform as well in the future."

Does anyone else remember this? It doesn't sound like something a vice president of Sony Computer Entertainment International would say.

...also, there is NOT going to be a conversion fee rather than a full price. MLBTS14 just released and people had to pay full price for both versions.
That's just one game - there have been something like ten others that did do the reduced 'upgrade' charge across both platforms.

EDIT: As to why Sony might be behind this - I have no idea, but they are the policy makers.

Don't know if it's the interview you've been talking about, but Yamauchi does talk about X360 over here: http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?t=157278

Funny to see how different the vision of GT5 was when that interview was taken, and how it eventually turned out.

Kazunori Yamauchi should've gone to Specsavers! ;)

Anyone ever thought GT6 was a way to milk cash for GT Academy? That's how I think about the game now... this and it's graphics are upscaled PS2 recycles. Oh, Assetto Corsa, DriveClub and Project CARS. These are gonna be awesome. How homeless The Real Driving Sim-cade-ulator will end up.

I'm well aware that DriveClub looks totally Arcade but hey... enjoyment goes first for me.

All this spite coming from someone who loved the series until GT5... then GT6 came out and shown itself to just be Gran Turismo 5 Epilogue.

I'm sure a lotta people think like that nowadays... while they keep on driving cars with vacuum cleaners and mosquito's for engine in this aspiring simulator for 15 years.

Go ahead and hate on me, whoever. See if I care.

This franchise is long overdue.

I guess now this new "add-on" is coming its a perfect excuse for kAZ to conveniently forget about all the other stuff that's missing.

And to add another kart almost no one will use:rolleyes:, then a F1 which has too much PP to compete in any event of the career mode.

Sure, they can be used online but Gran Turismo's multiplayer mode is a disaster...:grumpy: until some friggin' miracle happen and that they release this "online club" thingy wrote on the back of the game's box and that they'd 🤬 the qualification glitches, black screens, D/C during middle of a race and game joining issues.:boggled:

Sigh, it looks like the new update is a bust as far as fixing and adding to the core game. I really need a reset button for tuning sheets, the community feature and a course maker to even consider putting the disc back in my ps3. Honestly, if they weren't shutting down the GT5 servers I would go back.

I love how PD puts fake sounds on their trailers, it means they are aware of how the ingame sounds are poor.

Seriously, I think car manufacturers should require at least a certain level of sound quality to be used on their cars from game developers.
The sounds PD uses for some iconic cars is really embarassing for the manufacturers.

Aware, and yet unwilling to address them. Sure the recent update means people can now hear the engine when using a camera view hardly anyone uses anyway. But what they can hear now is still rubbish.

For the record though, I think the Vision BMW is one of the better sounding cars in the game. Even if it doesn't sound the same as the videos.

What really pisses me off, is that they had plenty of time to improve it and they didn't.
I can remember people asking for better sounds and AI improvement right after GT5's launch and almost 4 years later, if anything, GT6 sounds are possibly worse than GT5.
Not to mention the arcade mode, now we can't even set tire wear and fuel consumption.

Why are the sounds getting talked about? The online in GT6 is horrible, why do I keep getting disconnected even when I'm wired (which is supposed to have perfect connection?)
I haven't played in many months. Is online still having problems? Last time I tried in a full room nobody could hear my mic and I was jack hammering. I rarely had that problem in GT5 and usually leaving the room and re-entering fixed the issue.

Seriously? Because my first thought as I was starting the TT was "Are PD now using recordings of the night-shift cleaning crew vacuuming floors with hair-ball-clogged equipment?" Are we all getting the same downloads? I'm not being facetious at all; while I haven't taken one "through the shops" yet, the one loaned for the TT barely had a sound at all, and that was sort of like "fuuuuuuuuushuuuuuuuuohshooooo".

Even the FIA GT3 Version of the car sounds like that. They grab the sounds and they copy/paste them to other cars. I know this hasn't anything to do with the TT or the BMW "Delusion" version M3, but when a Corvette C7 sounds has a super high-pitched, meek and powerless exhaust noise sounding like Stunt Race FX's Coupe car when you install a racing muffler (A game for SNES that I played way too often) and that some muscle cars/euro racers sound like Skyline R34 GT-Rs then you know they don't care the slightest about car sounds.

I hope those upcoming race sims will knock GT6 and GT7 out of the park with the strongest homerun hit ever.

I've been using wireless a few years back now and GT5 & 6 are the only games I've ever encountered issues with. Although, miraculously, I only got disconnected once from the very same room yesterday.

Seriously. Camera view might have something to do with it. As might the sound system I'm/you're using. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I love it's engine sound, but I don't think it's one of the really bad ones.

I don't really use mics, but it seems to be corrected as I hear others never having issues with them. Disconnections however are the main problem though, but not sure if it happens more often when you're wired or wireless.

I was also wireless back then as well. I didn't get disconnects as often in GT5 as I did in GT6, so thought I go wired to see the difference. Sometimes I get d/cs when I'm wired also, but not as often as before, so I may try wireless again because my PS4 is suppose to be wired.
