Well it seems 1.16 made the GT online experience even more buggy, with half of people in lobbies being invisible on track now.

Maybe they are using the Romulan Cloaking Device in honour of this man's passing:

Invisible cars, the next chapter in 'vision GT' :dopey:
Genius. You and I think that's hilarious, but you know, if one of the VGT's was an invisible car, say from NASA or the U.S. Air Force, and all you had was bumper view to race it of course, you'd still have legions of fanboys defending it as "theoretically possible" and hailing Kaz as a great visionary in seeing so far into the future, you can't even see the car of the future
smiley-laughing001.gif

Heck, you could put 500 invisible liveries on it and bump up the car count to 1700

Incidentally I ran into a problem yesterday with a mod in Game Stock Car where, er, some of the car was invisible:

It was quite amusing running around like that, so without wanting to sound like a fanboy......I wouldn't mind if PD added that as an easter egg feature :P

Invisible Vision GT Revealed, Coming Somewhere in 2015

Edit: Darn, i guess i got tree'd.

I have been a loyal GTer since GT1. Long story, but I just got GT6 yesterday. It doesn't seem like an actual new version to me. It's GT5 with a new GUI and no used car dealership. Not only did Seattle not come back, but - unless I am mistaken - the Paris tracks/circuits are gone, too. I am seriously disappointed. And what was wrong with 1. that muddy South Pacific rally course, and 2. that long snow rally course - both of which were in GT4 ? SMH

B-Spec has come too late to be anything useful. Can't use it in Arcade so any point or racing I would've had has been erased at this point.

Not to mention reports of the online component getting worse. When the lone thing keeping GT6 alive at this point is online, and it's struggling to keep up, it doesn't bode well for PD's reputation.

Downloaded the update and came here just to testify that my hope for GT is dead. I expecte that the real endurances would return. Instead, another hot-wheels car and the comic half arsed B-Spec.

I can't understand someone releasing this stuff to the consumer saying: "that's it, a job well done".

I can't understand why after 15 months they didn't take the extra week to release it with some specialist events that would be particularly appealing with B Spec (such as endurances, are you listening Polyphony?).

And maybe some challenges that promoted learning some key techniques for how to get the best out of B Spec, and a couple really tough ones where you have to micro-manage the nuts off Bob to get gold. Something with some actual difficulty to it.

I mean, if they have B Spec working already and they can make seasonals for A Spec on a regular schedule, I don't see how they can't throw in a bit of content to showcase their new mode. It's such a little thing that makes such a big difference to how it's received, especially among their most loyal customers* who have completed all the content already.

*Of whom I am definitely not one, GT6 career mode puts me to sleep. I unlocked all tiers of content and called it a day once I was sure that there was nothing better available at the end. I'm not enough of a masochist to make myself complete something I'm not enjoying.

My problem is that I'll have to delete other games to make room for further updates... :grumpy: (my PS3 is an old fat 80GB)
Either you really love GT in order to do that, but i think it's not worth it for a couple of fantasy cars and a rehashed gameplay feature they release which doesn't add nothing meaningful.

Booted up the PS3 yesterday to download the update, then the PS3 proceeded to crash 3 times before I was able to win the seasonal for the new VGT. I'm glad these updates fix the game stability. 👍

.........Dunno if anyone else experienced this, uh, bug before; if not, hooray for me....

Earlier today, while scrolling the seasonal screen, I noticed 4wd non-race car drift seasonal riiight at the end - I've completely forgot about this so I decided, well why not, let's do this now. I get a pop-up dialog box that says "event is closed; can't upload your time".
In loads the snowy Charmonix, then....game freezes for a half a minute or so - then a small dialog box pops up saying "You can't log in your time now sucka!! It's closed!!" or something to that effect.

I'm like, well no kiddin' Sherlock, I know that. So I press "Enter event" then...game freezes again for a half minute. I'm greeted with another dialog box with "You're late, sucka!!"...
After the first run, I realize my Autech 260RS Stagea's trannie is all wrong, so I choose to quit in order to do something about that - as soon as I cross the finish line, game freezes AGAIN, but this time I can actually see the particle effect. Again I see a dialog box pop up (take a wild guess what it says) after a half minute of nothing.
I'm now out in the race menu, but it's FROZEN AGAIN. GUESS WHAT - HEY IT'S ANOTHER FREAKING DIALOG BOX.:banghead:

.............So I change the trannie's settings and I press enter event. ANOTHER HALF MINUTE FREEZE. ANOTHER INFERNAL DIALOG BOX. ANOTHER "LATE!! SUCKA!!" MESSAGE.

.............I get a great first turn, crash and lose all points in the second, enter too slow in the third, but nail it in fourth so I get gold. Yeah!! No Freeze!! No dialog box!! I'm so happy, I just exit the event so I can collect the credits and the paint chip - then the dreaded freeze - after a minute of nothing, a lone dialog box.

"A DNS error occurred. You've been signed out of PSN. Sucka."
..............I'm like, uhh, okay, sooooo I can at least get me some creds and the chip, riiight?? The game's like: "Hell no, all you get is lots of freeze. Sucka."
Yup, game froze. Couldn't even back out to "My GT" screen. All the hard work. All the time wasted on waiting. All down the toilet. No saving the record/replay either. Bar Humbug. :grumpy:

I had to reset the PS3....and it protested with that three little blips....:banghead::banghead::banghead:

My ps3 has been freezing horribly since the 1.16 update. each time it does it it freezes up so bad that I have to unplug the ps3 to turn it off. I feel your pain man, every time this happens I feel like gt6 is doing damage to the ps3. It certainly can't be good for it to be locking right up so I need to unplug it to turn it off.

that's one thing, and the other - what the actual **** is PD thinking 'let's bring in a useless vision GT Lexus concept car, but not bring the new RC-F because why would we, an awesome car like that can't be in our crappy game'.

Screw that, I'd pay PD tons of money if a car DLC was released. You hear that PD? I'm throwing money at you. Actual, real money. Just make a DLC with some meaningful cars. 90's era, or the new interesting cars (RC-F, MX-5, NSX, Ford GT, Audi TTRS or the new TT, NOT TO MENTION BOTH FOCUS RS'S). Shut up and take my money.

I'm oficially thinking about buying a used Xcrap 360 just for the forza games.

This is too rich.

*PD releases new update that contains two duplicate fantasy cars (but but but, one is normal and the other is a racing car.....with a wing...) and another uses an existing car from real life* Oh, wait second. There's a new bug that resets all custom transmissions. PD strikes again folks. :dopey: :lol::lol::lol:

HA! I'm so glad I don't have to go through all that anymore, because I moved on and play better games that are actually better. What's even more better, is that those games dont need updates to keep breaking it 24/7. ;)

Hooray! Another update!

Hooray! It doesn't have the Course Maker in it!
Just like B-Spec which became worse, the Course Maker is getting added in...lets see.....the next 15 months. IF, it ever comes that is.

What I'd like to know is, why was anyone fiddling with the transmission coding to begin with and how did it get borked? Or could you make a change completely unrelated to transmission coding and still have it affect it?

I find it laughable how so many are raving about the wonderful sounds of the new Alpine and Lexus. If GT ever gets a sound package that even comes close to real cars I think the fanbase will go absolutely crazy:crazy: Relative to the existing car sounds the new cars are simply louder and more raspy, with an unrealistic reverb effect in replays, but they don't sound anything like a real engine to my ears. Forget about the lack of intake sounds, the off throttle sounds, downshifting, upshifting, transmission whine etc.

So haven't touched GT6 in months, still the same old - GETTING WORSE by the sounds of it. Anything worthwhile I actually missed bar midfield and a few cars to go around the same uninmaginitive linear gameplay

Depending on the price you can get an xbox for, it's pretty worth it. FM2, 3, 4 and Horizon are all solid games that you'll probably enjoy if you like the Gran Turismo style. The car list in FM4 is very, very good.

I could get it for about 80 euro (and FM3/FM4 for about 10 - 15 euro, 20 - 25 euro for the newer Forzas probably), but I'm in a deep crap when it comes to financials at the moment :P

Yeah, I wouldn't get too excited about it. They'll only get cheaper, and one day you'll find yourself with extra cash and be able to pick it all up for cheap. The games will still be worth it for some time, just as GT4 would probably be worth it now for someone who hadn't played it.

In true PD fashion, they managed to break something without even touching it!

I would love to see the reaction of some of the GT fanboys when they hear iRacing, or Assetto Corsa.

Sorry guys, but your beloved GT is not even a shadow of what it once was. It is mediocre at best.
