Nah Hot Wheels :D

I used to be a sim racer, now I just moan about sim racing on internet forums!

:dopey: ;)

Enough with the bickering. The noise has been deleted.

The use of the term 'fanboy' is not acceptable, end of discussion.

Anyone who has continued to do so when I wake up in the morning gets two days off, anyone who thinks that point is up for discussion will get the same.

Thought the whole point of this forum was exactly for BICKERING - seems like gtplanet is heading in the same arrogant plane PD is - ignoring all facts and sticking to their fantasy world!

If that's what you think GTP is for then you are unlikely to have a long membership.

Every member, on joining, agrees to follow the AUP. It's not optional and those who believe it is will soon find out how inaccurate that belief is.

@Jimmy_DA

Yeah. Because reality is only for cynicism and always doomed by anger and sadness.

You must be fun at parties.

Whine the game, not other users.

The thread is titled "
The GT6 Epic Whining and Crying Thread"
Can't really impose people for doing exactly what the title states?

cynicism is only used to hide ones feelings. If something is (what I see) crap then it's crap, no point pretending it's not. If so it's just fooling ones self.

Where have I whined at or attacked another user? I merely quoted scaff for the purpose of my point. You on the other hand have made it personal frzgt by implying your post @Jimmy_DA and stating I must be fun at parties :dunce::cheers::crazy:.

I believe Scaff's point was about "bickering". You're free to whine and cry all you like, but bickering (pointless arguing) with others isn't encouraged.

I'm well aware of the title of the tread, I've been moderating it longer that you've been a member, as such I don't really need a reminder.

The bickering I refer to is the use of digs and insults rather than discussion, its perfectly possible to whine and cry about something and respond to the same without making it personal. The fact that I referred to the use of the term 'fanboy' as context in my post (a term that is used in an almost exclusively derogatory manner) illustrates that point.

As such I would suggest that your future posts are on-topic and should you have any further questions about moderation you raise they via PMs instead of derailing threads.

Don't worry guys, I'll bring the thread back on topic and hope some people don't corner me like before.

WHY ISN'T MY FORD FOCUS RS '09 IN GT6 YET! WHY ARE ITS ENGINE SOUNDS STILL SO BAD! WHY ISN'T THE CM HERE YET!

^^^ That, is what this thread is made for @Jimmy_DA, not "bickering" such as making pointless arguements, insulting and ganging up on certain users to create such. The term "you know what" is definitely not used anywhere on the forum.

Your Focus probably isn't in GT6 due to being a European model predominantly :sly:

Ganging up - yeah usually on me after a single post and more seems to be from :gtplanet: staff (no offence intended). Some are just way to sensitive and posts pulling up each other's wrong doings need to be more specific to lessen confusions.

And what in the digital world is actually happening to the course marker? I was looking forward to mapping out loops around my home town and seeing if I could beat my GT6 times through the streets (but suppose again a few won't be impressed by that either...:boggled:)👍

PS: lol just realised you can't see @TokoTurismo grey posts, so most of this gibberish of mine will be :boggled: - SEE IM FUN I use emoticons :P

I just had this thought and i didn't want to make a thread out of it, so i figure this is the right place to post:

Has GT become a children's racing game?:

Think about it; offline is easy and the bots let you win, there is a major focus on fantasy cars, racing rules/conditions are low on PD's priority list, endurance races scaled down, no focus on improving car models/sounds so they can keep the matchbox like car count alive...

For an adult male that grew up with motorsports, i suppose you can't really say that the way the franchise is heading is very appealing anymore. GT used to be the closest you could get for a realistic racing experience on consoles, and also one of the first games to introduce a wide selection of real life cars, but in recent years the realism/ appeal has been greatly diminished due to their awkward design decisions, and that original 'realism' formula was scaled down and altered in a bad way to the more childish formula we have today.

I wouldn't mind PD making GT more aimed towards casual players if they had included options to cater to hardcore players as well.

PD could set up the game so that all driving aids are enabled by default, set default sim options to damage off, fuel/tire wear off, corner cutting/collision penalties off, easiest AI difficulty, shortest race distance. Then give players freedom to change any of those options in all game modes. In that way casual players could still enjoy the game without the need to change any settings while advanced players could change the game options to make the game more challenging & interesting for them.
It makes no sense to set up the game to cater to one group of players while totally ignoring another group of players, especially taking into account that the elements needed to make races more realistic are already in the game, PD could easily include the option to adjust the things mentioned above in an update.

Although you are certainly right concerning the need for adjustable aids and options, it's also the race formula that shares the blame. Chasing rabbits can only create unrealistic races where you have to pass the whole field with a 30 seconds deficit and the AI has to be slow so you have a chance. This can't be changed by turning aids off. So basically the game formula in itself is also childish and has to be changed if they would want to cater for their old school racing fan crowd.

I agree.
Catch-the-rabbit format is the reason I don't play against AI. It would be ok to have catch-up races as a side mode in addition to proper career & arcade races that have either standing starts or normal rolling starts, but making most career races & arcade races catch-the-rabbit was a huge mistake imo.
The catch-up format is one of the reasons there's so many bad players online. If a player always starts the race in last place 30 seconds behind the leader, using an overpowered car, against a field of bad AI drivers & unbalanced car grid, with no damage or penalties it's unlikely that the player will try to drive smart, he'll most likely drive recklessly and try to pass cars at any cost.

Got a G27 a few days ago. Tried to get back to GT6... Wow... What's this wonderful wheel good for if the damn clutch doesn't work properly? If PD dares to call this game a "simulator" they should fix the clutch. Other lesser games do it better like ETS2. I drive stick in real life, so I know how terrible the clutch is implemented in this game.

The wheel works well, but it's definitely harder than I though. That is my fault for being a newbie. However, I must note that street cars shouldn't have such a hard and erratic feel to the wheel. I completely hate it. Can't even cruise at normal speeds without the wheel trying to break my arms off. Absolutely stupid.

Off from GT6 again. Will wait for GT7 in hope that all of this is fixed. (I didn't really buy the wheel for GT anyway...)

Who agrees that GT is better suited to arcade-style racing? I don't know maybe this whole "trying to be a simulator racer" is a bit too hard for PD nowadays. Aren't they bored of it? I know I would...

PD's focus on a realistic physics model doesn't suit the genre. Game isn't exciting or fun enough to be a good arcade racer neither :D

you sir, have certainly made my day.

That aside, I never thought that I'd post in this thread. I have consistently been checking the forums for any news on the transmission bug "plague" that the 1.17 update has brought upon us. I honestly can't enjoy GT6 because of this stupid error in the game's code.
