I seem to remember a crap storm of complaints the last time PD dropped a bunch of cars (GT3 for the younguns), and I have no doubt that even with 400-500 cars left, dropping over half the current selection, just to maintain an across the board standard, would result in a similar crap storm.

They may try it again with GT7, when they have a larger pool of premiums, but I suspect it may not even be an issue that far down the road anyway.

I could care less about the moving mud flaps for the rally cars honestly. As I said in that other thread talking about this..

Not really complaining since that feature hasn't been confirmed to be implemented in GT5. Just saying I hope they fix the rally racing in GT6

Exactly, i couldn’t careless about leaves and mud flaps moving. GT5 game play bored me to death, do something that makes the game play exciting. Better AI, better implementation of different race series and multi-class races are just a few things. I'm waiting for reviews after the game comes out before i buy it.

I certainly hope PD don't spend too much time making Premium versions of nonexistent Miata variations and fake Japanese versions of USDM versions of JDM cars when they are already sorely lacking in car variety and continually falling behind in terms of modern cars despite including all of those Standards.

Polyphony are all about car count, not car variety/quality. I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I know this is the "Epic whining and Crying Thread", but wow! You have 5 complaints about the GT series in this one post. Is there anything you LIKE about GT?

where?

i made a thread about GT5P being better than GT5 and then this complaint.

and yes ive been complaining (elsewhere) since GT5. pre GT5 i was loving the franchise.

don't get me wrong, i am excited for GT6 but just disappointed about standard cars returning. it makes the game feel cheap and cheesy. don't ask me why i think that but i just do. it wouldn't happen in any other racing game. ok some racing games do carry over cars from their previous game, but they was already in great detail and had a interior view.

i will just wait for GT6 and decide from then on about my support for future GT games. upto now, GT4 was the last proper GT game for me. it still felt and sounded like Gran Turismo.

with GT5 i don't get the classic Gran Turismo feeling, i just find my self playing GT5 for the fun of it. oh and when my mate isn't on forza 4.

i just want GT6 to have the classic GT sound and feel. like similar sounds to old GT games when you select things in game.

PLEASE PLEASE PD, BRING BACK THAT CLASSIC GT GOODNESS!!

Don't get me wrong, I love GT5 (no where near perfect yeah i know). I have probably played this game more times than most people have.

I am still having fun. I do get bored once in a while. Having my G27 makes up for a lot of the boredom. Honestly if i had to play on a DS3, I wouldn't be playing this game/any driving game hardly at all.

Basically what i was getting at. I just would love to see detailed rally tracks like the Dirt series. I know in say Dirt 3 you can't use the full 900 degrees on a wheel, but I would expect to be able to in a sim like GT. I still have no clue why PD limited the amount of degrees the wheel turns on dirt and snow tracks.

Certain things like that I hope they fix in GT6 (I guess more of a wish list instead of a complaint).

@GT_Fan_1990

Yeah, I'll give you that. I can't put my fingure on exactly why, but GT5 doesn't feel "GT" to me either.

Because 1000 CARS!! on the box sells better than "We've reduced the car count to only 443 even though the last game had 1100+ but they all look way better than the olds ones did so it's a better game"

Yes, the number sells but maybe eventually it play against it but the real issue for me is the double standard, having the best graphics in market but at the same time having ps2 retouched models in 2013. :ill:

Geez, same argument as few pages ago.

By the time GT5 released, the only up to date prototype we missed was the R15 (Im talking about car manufacturers not privateer LMP1 entries).

The 458 GT2 started racing in 2011, almost a year after GT5 launch.

We already have Corvette race cars, you can RM the Z06 and ZR1 to their real life counterparts.

Obviously GT5 had no 911 GT1 car and the DB9/F430/Murcielago was missing too. But GT5 has several GT500 cars and a good level scaling tool (PP), so you could race those cars against each other.

So why didnt we get the R15, a car Forza 3 had. Forza 3!

GT Le Mans racers...we've been racing the 2000 Corvette C5R in Gran Turismo games since.... Gran Turismo 3? The car list is whacked, and has been for a long while. In fact it always has been, since the very first Gran Turismo.

Forza has come along and showed what a truly good and diversified car list looks like, exposing Polyphony Digital. No problem, learn from your competition, right?

Nope, keep adding oddball cars with little appeal like the rocket and Samba Bus while ignoring hyper cars and non japanese everyday cars.

Agreed 100%. Would rather have some modern racecars than some touched-up relic from GT3. Visual damage does not appear promising if they're using PS2 models either.

Standards still being present, hardly any new real world tracks and the sounds being equally bad. Damn, I think GT6 will be an even bigger disappointment than GT5 was.

I seriously can't do nothing but laugh at PD right now!

A standard clean up (Unintended pun) and the same funcionality as the premium cars (High and low beams atlast!) will make the already decentish standard cars look even better and maybe on par with the average premium car!

No problems anymore for sparky! Good night.

Sad but true. I'll buy it for sure and probably enjoy it, but damn. Atleast I'm not as shocked as I was with GT5.

Hey GTPlanet...

If you still feel that way when it releases then please don't. I'm very skeptical about making this purchase.

I have seen three or four game play videos (no not just the one with the X-Bow). I am loving the look of the graphics and suspension model. The handling looks totally different. The car looks to react totally different to body roll.

No perfect sounds, having standard cars, no livery editor, i don't care. The physics and graphics are my main focus.

Frankly, I'm not sure why PD is dragging this out. They cop flak either way, whether they have the standards in or not. They're going to have to drop them eventually. Are PS2-era models acceptable on PS4? Probably not. PS5? Please.

Why not just cut to the chase and get it over with. Grow some testicles and have faith that the quality of your current work will sell the game instead of relying on stuff from 10+ years ago.

So there wont be a big change for the standards in GT6.

And they obviously want you to pay twice for GT6 + DLC. First they throw the PS3 version out and let you buy dlc. When you finally upgraded to the PS4, they charge you again for the new version.

As the demo videos showed, the sound wont be improved that much. It still feels sterile and like a vacuum while revving up. It is just not even close to the real thing.

Officially disapointed by PD. A good tyre modell and good physics are already there from the competition for years.

The biggest lie is the car count on the cover. They have to clearly mark the difference between standard and premium. Otherwise the customer get tricked again and expect the same quality level again. I know many people who found out about the standards after they purchased the game. I hope that PD will feel it in sales.

And now they start with throwing a dlc plan at us. The big argument against Forza comes to GT. Prepare yourself fir the 50 € GT 6 season pass. :dopey:

My problem with Standards returning isn't simply their level of detail, but the fact that PD can "rely" on them to fill up the car list i.e. we probably won't see to many new Le Mans and German Touring Cars because the Standard cars already have plenty in there albeit outdated ones.

It would be nice to see a lot more race cars from this decade.

Another point that is often overlooked is having enough car from a certain era to make a race series viable - trying to run a GT class race in GT5 is immersion breaking to say the least. Anachronisms everywhere.

Its not the standards i care about but its the fact that iconic and unique cars are standards and not prems. I would like to keep standards but only as extras and not make them a necessity for race series ie old le man cars, Classic cars, Wrc cars.... Extra model should be kept standard but 20% should be made prem.

With new displays and high res with faster frame rate will make standards look S@#T. Seriously, if Mk IV Supra isnt prem, Mk1 Focus RS, Freaking GT350 Mustang, All Rufs to name a few.

About 9 months ago I was here, waiting on Polyphony Digital to show their latest Gran Turismo. After the first 15 minutes I thought they may actually show up. After an hour...I admit my hope started to sway. How many times did you screw your loyal fans over, Polyphony Digital?

Then a few days ago, out of the clear blue sky and without warning, Polyphony Digital decides to announce a new Gran Turismo game behind closed doors.

I've become thoroughly disillusioned with Polyphony Digital. And Sony as well. Sony preached to me over the past few months how important the Playstation 4 is to them, but then they go right around the corner and prostitute their biggest franchise to the highest bidder. They even had the nerve to show Kazunori Yamauchi in the PS4 reveal trailers, when its quite obvious Polyphony Digital will not release a PS4 game until 2017 at earliest now.

What will Polyphony Digital be doing during the first 3-4 years of the Playstation 4's life? Creating car and track DLC for Playstation 3. Sounds like another brilliant way to spend the first years of a console's life, just like how they squandered the first 4 years of the PS3's life, eh?

To be quite honest, I hope GT6 fails. That may at first seem a selfish wish, but in the long run it would only be for the better of the series. Kazunori Yamauchi and his team appear to know no limits when it comes to development time. Do they wear a watch, or even have a calendar? The failure of GT6 will impress on their minds mightily that there isnt millions of sheep ready to get fed whatever garbage you happen to throw our way whenever you feel like it. What is the franchise anymore anyway? The real GT Academy? The Real Nissan Simulator?

In fact I hope Forza is a launch or near launch title for the Xbox Infinity. Just so those which such short foresight could get a glimpse of what GT6 could have been on a system that wasnt built in the bronze age.

How about taking a clue from Forza. Forza launches its games at real gaming shows. They dont create "special events" to thump their chest and reveal their newest game behind closed doors. Forza releases a game every 2 years and its been over a decade since Polyphony Digital actually released a really fun Gran Turismo game while Forza pumps out AAA quality games on a regular basis.

I'll cast my vote with my wallet. It wasnt too long ago Sony had 4, $500 locked up from on a purchase of the PS4. Thats not going to happen anymore. GT6? Absolutely not.

In fact this lack of focus leads me to believe the PS4 will fail as well. Give a large portion of the Sony fanbase a very good reason not to buy a PS4 for a least 3 years by releasing GT6 on the old console. Count on (previously) loyal suckers like myself to buy your buggy, unreliable launch consoles that have no games for top dollar. Then, when your ready for the GT6 PS3 crowd, drop the price, introduce an improved PS4, then release GT7 on PS4, while my launch PS4 is on its last legs.

Sorry, but Im not falling for it this time. At least you dignified me enough as not to release a Prologue.

Maybe its time to close the chapter of Gran Turismo and gaming in my life. All it will really mean is more free time. GT6 on PS3 quite clearly shows me gaming isnt about breaking down new barriers anymore, or introducing new ways to play, or providing new experiences. Its all business now, and every decision is made based on what can provide maximum profit. Im no longer interested in investing time and money in such things, when its only my dollar they are after.

Signing off

I don't see how you can get this aggressive or anguished about GT6 from what we've heard so far.

So because PD chose not to announce at Tokyo just to annoy you, and then had a reveal at their 15TH ANNIVERSARY celebration it's a negative point.

You must of mentioned Forza as many times in your post as GT, me thinks you're in the wrong forum for that. At the end of the day PS4 is not out, PS4 is an extra 400-500 (pounds *probably), what's wrong with something which will sell, what's wrong with something accessible to most?

How do you know it won't be on the PS4 until 2017, that's a ridiculous thing to state.
