Ah yes, cause a typo doesn't exist on the internet . I too wonder why you even bother, if you're going to grasp at straws with a typo, but that is your right I suppose. I mean as smart as you try to act, you only seem asinine by pointing out a non-issue to the subject at hand that can easily be equated to a mistake by a fellow human on the net. Or can it not?

It wasn't a typo. You used a homophone, a word which sounds the same but is totally different. Not a typo.

I'm just going to raise a point analog brought up in another thread. What do you think will happen to the car count once GT7 releases to the PS4? Do you really think standards are going to stay, just so they can maintain a high car count? Having car models from two generations ago on the PS4 is unthinkable. PD is eventually going to have to stop using standard cars as a crutch and give us a reasonable number of cars that are consistent quality. To the people who love standard cars, enjoy them while they're still being included.

I honestly don't think that PD will decrease the number of cars available in GT at this point. By the time GT7 comes around (which will speculatively be 3-5 years from now & on PS4), I believe that PD will have adopted a uniform model for all the cars. There will no longer be S/P, just what is expected from a then-current generation of racing game. I mentioned this in one of my previous posts as well.

Substituting a homophone is considered a type of typo. A typo is when you make a spelling or grammatical error via typing device. It isn't as black and white as you'd like it to be since a typo covers various situations in which a typing error occurs, swapping homophones is one of those errors. Now if you want to talk about this subject further private message me, if not then let's get back to the topic of GT6. At this point your just using this to detract from the original point, because you probably have nor had anything of significance to add or detract.

How is that ironic?

His entire post was asking why you bothered to go out of your way to point out a mistake in his post rather than actually contribute to what he said, and then you replied to that by pointing out another mistake in his second post.

Believe it or not, being technically correct is rarely the best kind of correct.

I guess our specific definitions on typos are different. I've always considered them different from homophones.

But I will agree with you, we need to get back on topic. And contrary to your belief, I have much to add.

Especially the standards. I really wish PD would realize that some of these cars are 12 years old. Really, they're just extremely tired models and really are going to impede the experience.

I doubt PD will ever reduce the car count. Its always gotten bigger so I cant see that changing. Having the cars from two generations is not unthinkable to everybody. PD doesnt have to stop doing anything just because a small few people says so.

I don't get this craziness about the car count, why just don't have 443 premium cars? (GT5 243 + GT6 200)

Because that makes sense and PD simply doesn't use logic. most people will never come close to using 400 cars...let alone 1200.

The idea is that the more the better. Now to be completely honest, in a car/racing game I agree with this analogy. However, it is time for the cars involved in the game to be high in QUALITY as well as QUANTITY. It can be done...

And the award for most ironic post of the year goes to...

Irony within irony within irony.:)

Because 1000 CARS!! on the box sells better than "We've reduced the car count to only 443 even though the last game had 1100+ but they all look way better than the olds ones did so it's a better game"

I have a retail business myself and we often advertise on a portable sign. With a push of a button we can pull up the number of a particular class of item in the store and we often put that number on the portable sign, as in, "2500 _____ in stock" Many of them are duplicates in colour and other minor things, but still we do have 2500 in stock. Do you think we'd get more people into the store if we put
a lower number on the sign? It's marketing, go big or go home sort of thing, and 1000 cars is big, even if some of them are standards.

Yeah, it sucks for us hardcore guys that love the series and want to see it vastly improved, but PD is marketing to everyone not just us, and I'd be the majority of buyers don't know or don't care about standards and premiums.

The transition to PS4 will be a turning point for sure but even then, I'd bet the Premiums in GT6 will become the new Standards in GT7. They look good enough now in GT5/6, GT7 will see a host of cars added with new modelling and GT8 will probably be on PS4 and port over GT5/6 standards along with newer GT7 premiums. It's worked as a strategy for 15 years, why change it?

GT2 had 650 cars, GT3 had just over 180. Dropping the car amount is not out of the question and would have happened without a doubt if it was coming out on PS4. Long as the cars in game are quality, I don't mean graphic quality i mean cars people want to drive then car count shouldn't mean that much.

Out of the 1000+ cars in GT5 I had an interest in only 300 at most, and a lot of those were standards.

Great Response 👍

How did this thread go from complaining about GT6 to discussing Typos?

I guess a couple people had nothing else to complain about GT6.

Anyway. Who ever said something about "what if PD decided to take out all the standard cars and just have 400 premiums". Honestly I wouldn't mind. I mean i could have it either way. They stay, they got it honestly could care less. It would be nice to have every car premium, it may not happen though.

I just want the physics and graphics to be top priority.

I love how everyone is getting so anal about silly little details ,

OMG  look we have moving leaves on the road, awesome news !!.

Look the car shadows are now a rounder edge instead of jagged

:eek: OMG , look at that rear fender it's slightly brighter then then the fender on GT5 ,

Well, I'm sold 👍 all these great details are making it a must buy

(I hope I'm proven wrong by the end of the year, but as with life experience you cant always trust people or believe the hype) :)

They got the physics on lock at least seeing as they partnered with Yokohama (thanks for the correction guys) and K&W for technical stuff.

Graphics look the same more or less, it's just that the environmental details look better.

Haha I remember how I started a thread just like this a few years back she got shut down with the quickness??? Go figure... I guess it's not what you say but, how you say it because like yourself and many others I too can only take so much..

But when you think about it everybody is entitled to there own opinion...

OMG!

They're pushing the limits of 2005 tech!

Cant wait to see the results!

i know the results. its YLOD

i cannot believe standard cars are going to be in GT6. i mean when will it end?

i can just see it now with GT19 on the ps54, standard cars still in the game.

come on PD, drop the PS2 cars now because im telling you now the GT franchise is fast going down the drains. GT5 doesn't even feel like a GT game to me.

Stop complaining , They have announced more leaves on the track and moving mud flaps now so it's looking promising and I'am starting to get excited.

I know this is the "Epic whining and Crying Thread", but wow! You have 5 complaints about the GT series in this one post. Is there anything you LIKE about GT?

Even if there are standard cars, they'll probably be updated a bit rather then GT4 quality, but if they remove them I'm going to upset. And I'm sure others would to. There are some, if not, many standards that we love. I don't want them gone.

You're right. GT3 sold so poorly because it had such a small car lineup. Oh, wait... it was the best selling GT of all time.

[Kanye] Of All Time! [/Kanye]

It's sad, to me, that more people are concerned with quantity over quality.

I was sad when we lost a lot of unique cars in GT2 on the move to GT3. I miss the Cosmo, the SVX, some of the tuner specials, etc etc. But GT3 wowed me with a much higher quality look throughout the game, and the big deal about that? It was consistent. There were no decade-old car models on-track with the newer ones, unlike GT5. There, I could be in a SuperGT race, watching a few cars trade paint in the hunt for the win, and see scratched paint and body panels coming loose. Well, so long as they were Premiums; if they're Standards, I get to see some smeary, painterly-style changes to the cars. So long as the cars are single-piece models, that will always be the case.

I could care less about the moving mud flaps for the rally cars honestly. As I said in that other thread talking about this..
Lock2Lock
Probably explains why they didn't implement this detail in GT5.

Plus they need better rally tracks with better detail to the rally tracks.

I honestly don't even acknowledge rally racing in GT5. I ignore it completely. The lack of detail, and the garbage wheel problems (the limited degrees of rotation) when driving on dirt/snow tracks. That makes me ignore it completely.

So the mud flaps moving around on rally cars? Fix rally racing period first then worry about details I don't even look at 98% of the time anyway.

Not really complaining since that feature hasn't been confirmed to be implemented in GT5. Just saying I hope they fix the rally racing in GT6

Maybe there just wasn't enough complaining.

I am completely happy with the set-up of GT5 and won't be to distraught to see standard cars return in GT6 for the main point that there are several of the standard cars that I love. I do however want to see the standard cars undergo an improvement in terms of exterior appearance. Even if there is not a detailed interior, there should not be to much of a difference between the appearance of S/P.

If Kaz was to suddenly say "...and all standard cars from GT5 have been CUT and will not be returning in GT6.", this whole forum would probably flip the hell out.
I completely agree. I've been racing in Arcade Mode for months, using it as an Event Maker, and constantly rotating nothing but Standards in and out of my Favorites list. I probably raced several hundred.

What do you think will happen to the car count once GT7 releases to the PS4? Do you really think standards are going to stay, just so they can maintain a high car count?
I think they'll get converted to Premiums over the course of GT6's lifetime and 7's development.

Uhm... yeah. Are you saying that details don't matter? ;)

As LMSVette mentioned, the PP system needs work along with everything else in GT6. I like it, it's useful, but it needs some adjustments. Especially with the potential of performance upgrades and Race Mod on most cars.
