They feature Senna and Andretti, but what about me?

Why don't they include me in their game? GT6 really sucks.
Thinking about it, I'll start whining about me and Slump not being in the game. Since I have nothing else left to whine about.

I will not get myself GT6. The reason is simple, why get a game i already have? Gt6 is almost identical to Gt5! And the new features they announced for gt6 is so disapointing that i can not belive that they made so little inprovements! Everyone want this and that etc and PD give us a nicer sky to look at while racing? Priorities what? I give up my hope on PD.
200 new cars and 7 locations (many layouts each) not including photo mode... If you spliced that up into DLC it would cost much more than $60... Just a thought.

At least they're keeping the Passionate Pink LFA's. :sly:
I really hope I can finally install aero parts on her. That way she won't try to kill me as much. Funny that PD was the only company that had an LFA that put in the entire range of colours available for the LFA in real life.

I want to add the KW suspension on my LFA.

Nope, I don't think it's the best colour choice either as it seems to hide a lot of the detail in the cars to my colour blind eyes:eek:
Color is fine. The pattern, no so much. It's like every one of the cars got ran over by a weightless monster truck.

200 new cars? Do you have access to some new car list the rest of us don't?

Because your a standard nobody wants to use.
Lol. That was a good one. Speaking of standards, I can't wait to see the so called not standards anymore. They really labeled their workmanship with the series when they separated standard vs premiums. They can't jump to the next gen platform though. If they try, Sony should pull their plug.

I don't think we'll see a fully 'premium' line-up for a while. It's just too much work. I think they'll be upgraded again before GT7 though.

By pull their plug, do you mean GT's?

They've dug their own grave. By including so many in GT5 they can't look back now.

Refer to Forza 5 backlash.

FM5's backlash would not have been an issue if they waited to release the game like T10 usually does. Instead they were asked for a launch title and now we're dealing with the consequences.

My point still stands though, 200 amazing well models cars is more than enough compared to everything else out there aside from Forza 4 and Gran Turismo. Once a standard is set, it becomes what is expected from following titles hence why Forza 5 seems like a 'step down'

Two hundred versus a thousand and two hundred. In terms of volume GT5 will be easy to market.

Forza seems to be accidentally going the same way the NFS franchise has gone, alienating car enthusiasts but staying strong with the mainstream gamer.

Yes. Sony doesn't rule the console market like they once did. There is more than one competitor now. I think there is a game company out there that can take GT to the next level if PD can't keep up. Forza was no where to be seen with GT1 hit. T10 made a hit with it. Shift2 came out from EA. Although it had its flaws, it created a challenge, great tracks and premium cars that didn't repeat models. It was a hit for me. I think if they did a Shift 3, they would get alot right. Forza had 5 tries at it. Gt has 6 tries at it. If Shift was giving that chance, I am sure it can generate a lot more attention. I think if PD stopped with all the minor detail stuff and focused on content, they can stay in the drivers seat. My thing is, how long will Sony allow themselves to be sub par with exclusive PS titles.

I think you have to appreciate that Kazunori Yamauchi created the GT franchise, built the first two by spending years working ridiculously hard with a skeleton crew of designers/developers and staying true to a unique and seemingly impossible philosophy, revolutionised the console racing simulator market, all the while churning out millions in profits. If they were to abandon Kazunori/PD, they'd have to abandon the GT moniker too.

Nintendo rules the console market. Always has. Here's the sales figures to help your 'argument'

Did, they arguably haven't moved the genre along for a while now.

......all the while churning out millions in profits.
Revenue. We don't know how much profit the series has ever made, and the two are rather different.

Why?

PD is a Sony studio (owned by them) as is the brand, strictly speaking nothing at all is stopping Sony getting another in-house studio and/or head to develop the series. The majority of GT buyers would have almost no idea if the name at the top changed.

I really wish they would.

Crazy how people are eating up PD's gimmicks yet again.

GT5 it was Vettel, Loeb, Gordon, and Top Gear.

With GT6 its Senna, Andretti, and the Hill Climb.

They're using these gimmicks to sell the game, instead of features that actually improve the overall experience, like AI or a livery editor.

Gran Turismo needs to stop celebrating cars, and instead start celebrating racing by improving it.

Nintendo, lol. Not even close. Take a look at these numbers to back up my statement.

Your chart is by games. My original post stated by consoles which excludes handheld. Like I was saying Sony ruled consoles. They have competition now. As technology advances, you expect game makers to keep up with the hardware. Those that can't or don't, simply fall.

Yea not to mention still with only 10 days to release there is no one from pd talking us through the game either arcade mode or A=spec or its features like you see with almost every other game dev and game release, They are relying on the loyal fan base. Kaz does not care about the gt buyer, GT is not a product it is Kaz's project that he is kindly letting us fund for him, I mean 10 days to go and we still know nothing about how the features are implemented or gameplay and no definitive time date on when the missing features will be added. Piss poor.

I second that. Advertisement should be heavy right now. We should see it all over the place instead of on every webpage we may visit. Two reasons to not go heavy would be, to pull the release date, or to not hype of the game based on the what we got with GT5.

Whilst GT is vastly outselling the competition I think Sony will be perfectly happy to carry on as they are.
