new trailer!!!!!!!?????? give us details for new physics engine, new tire model, new suspension model, new aerodynamics model!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The way I see things right now is that GT6 had a unique opportunity to fix the career mode and the events to at least make that part of the game enjoyable. But I'm sure the career mode of GT6 will be as bland as the one in GT5. (Rolling starts, no diversity, dumb A.I, no economy, buy upgrades; rince, repeat, rabbit chasing, and al.). And all that, despite having the biggest car pool of all the racing games.

Kaz must go. bourgeoisie syndrome.

I will let Kaz know how you feel.

No, none at all. You're not whining about other members at all. I don't know what I was thinking.

I think my pancreas is overproducing sarcasmoid hormones.
Assumptions something something ass out of you something or other.

The only one that will be whining when I get GT6 is my wife!:sly:

 I got a double laugh, as I accidentally read that as "w i f i." My wife and wifi have already planned ahead for GT6.

Wait, this kind of talk far is too cheery for this thread.

💡 I hope that the DLC isn't disappointing this time around, but if GT7 is coming in 2014 (or even 2015), then it's really anybody's guess how they'll play that card (can/will they use new assets for both).

Yes, new assets are future proof alright.

Pardon, I should have been a bit less vague.

As they've said, car assets are future proof (hopefully tracks are as well [2D trees, etc.] and just dumbed down for the PS3), however, with thoughts of GT7 so close in their heads, what will the Sony/PD business response be.

In other words, just because I can place an asset in my current product, doesn't mean that I will. I may hold back until the next iteration in order to promote a consumer upgrade to new hardware and software. GT6 contains 120+ car assets that are new to the series, some of which they could have provided as GT5 DLC (similarly with the new tracks). I simply wonder what we will be looking at, over the life of GT6, with GT7 possibly coming to the PS4 in 2014/2015.

With regard to GT7, will we see innovation (gameplay, not just eye candy) from PD, or will it simply be a matter of withholding car/track assets from GT6 (and if so, to what extent)?

This also brings up a rather interesting point; Kaz has mentioned GT6 will have regular, monthly car and track DLC's. If GT7 is to really show up so soon, to have any unique content over GT6 (and not just end up a simple visual upgrade), I can't imagine these monthly packs will be very big at all.

Aside: Cadwell Park is possibly one of my favourite tracks, judging by years of videos (and thanks to either Car or Evo introducing me to it). I'm hoping it shows up in either of the two big console racers eventually...

Yeah, 'monthly' DLC doesn't specify whether it will be one car or ten cars. Some months, the DLC may just be minor updates without cars or tracks. If it really does take them so long to model one car, then I assume we won't be seeing much more than perhaps 20-30 DLC cars top whack for the entire time that DLC is being uploaded.

Well they've promised at least 18 Vision GT cars, once per month as well I think they said. So if we only get 1 car per month (they're completely free as well) for the next 18 months I would be happy.

Some concepts (like the new GTI) look nice. Others, like the Merc, look terrible. But yeah, 18 free cars. Don't think you can complain too much.

That GTI is not in the Vision GT lineup though. People keep confusing the name. But yes, some people will be happy others won't, but they're FREE! so who cares if you can't keep everyone happy. If all you every play with is the 123 new cars and the 18 free Vision GT cars and not pay for a single piece of DLC, then I think you will still get as much enjoyment out of the game as someone who buys every piece of DLC and possibly even microtransactions as well.

For all their bad points PD are giving us free stuff again, but even more of it. So I don't people should be complaining so much, really, at least about cars.

Not 123 unique new cars because there are duplicates. But even with the 95 new models that I counted so far (excluding the GT concepts) I'm very happy. I want to drive those two Abarths. As soon as I can afford them, they're mine! :P

I didn't say they were unique, just new (i.e. new to GT6) but I guess it all depends on how you look at it. An upgraded to premium standard could be a deal-breaker for some people.

I'm glad the more important cars were upgraded to premium e.g. V16T, Stratos, Veyron etc.

Agreed, and I think they should just worry about the same cars for GT7, too. No need for 20 premium Miatas. Important being the keyword here.

Yeah, I never understood why they gave us two NA Miatas in GT5 ('89 '91) Only difference I saw was that one had a wooden steering wheel and the other didn't lol.

I don't think I'm alone in saying that if the only additional cars we got over GT6's life are a bunch of sketches of some designers' daydreams turned to digital versions, while the list of important real cars the series is missing continues to grow, I'd be pretty disappointed.

Well that's your opinion, I guess. Like I said in my post that you quoted, "I would be happy" with 18 Vision GT cars and nothing else.

Oh, absolutely, and I understand that. Just not that interested in driving make-believe cars in a game apparently dedicated to realism. Different strokes and all that 👍

That said, seeing as how a good chunk of my time with GT's is spent in Photomode thanks to the awesome community here, I wouldn't doubt some of them will make for some pretty striking shots.

Great, I guess I read your post differently.

But, yeah I agree. But I think they'll give us more than just those cars, since they've promised DLC in greater frequency, I think they have the potential to keep everyone happy.

Indeed they will. Can't wait to take shots of the Mercedes

Due to PD's new emphasis on developing DLC this time I expect many more machines than GT5 had at the end of the cycle. Not counting the 21 Vision GT machines.

Yeah, I think the GT by Citreon were much better cars to photograph/look at than to actually drive.

+1. Awhile back, I recall Kaz stating that his vision of a GT can't be done with today's hardware (before PS4). Now with the PS4 being as powerful as it is and a Playstation exclusive at that, there should be no excuses what so every to deliver a GT title to its full potential. There is no porting or dump down to other consoles to worry about.

The statement that GT5 pushed the PS3 to its limits is a lie imo. So the improvements to GT6 doesn't push the PS3 to its limits. This makes me fell that they are leaving hardware performance on the table. If a system was pushed to its limit, its pushed to its limits with very little cushion. The upgrades to GT6 with the weather, night and day transistions, the lighting, the aerodynamic, the suspension modeling and the tire modeling and so forth is beyond GT5. Its to been seen if these improvements are worthy of their efforts. With what they have done with GT6 can be done on a PS3, the next level on the PS4 should be limitless. The RAM is definitely there and although the processor isn't top notch its still an upgrade to the PS3. The power of the PS4 should definitely make GT7 and beyond shine and tower over any competition once again. Unfortunately, the second installment of GT on new hardware is deemed at being the better game. GT7 needs to be ground up and not ported in my opinion. I prefer to see GT7 in 4 years instead of a year or two as a ground up game. Problem here though is that the PS4 would be 4 years old with no GT on the platform yet. But setting the base on new hardware for GT7 sets up GT8. Porting will involve upscaling more than likely which isn't the same as true 1080dpi at 60fps.

On next gen systems, eventually games will start to max out on resolution to the point that graphics will be hard to improve on to make a huge difference. Its like going from vhs, to dvd to blu ray. Beyond 1080dpi will it really be worth it graphics wise to try to improve when the focus on any game can be put forth to gameplay and its features. This is when loaded content on a disk comes into play. There is a ton of info that can be slammed on a Blu Ray in comparison to a dvd. A blu ray is 25g per layer and a dual layer disk is 50g. That's roughly equal to 5.3/10.6 PS2 disk if they are the standard 4.7g dvd disk.
