This Month's Theme

This month we'll take an unusual turn, and get boxy. I'm pretty sure we haven't had a theme for the less sporty cars, and for this one I want you take inspiration from the cars you see daily but most likely ignore. Let's hear what @syntex123 means:

"SUVs. Vans. Minivans. Tesla's...? Unpopular racers, sure, but often a popular contractor choice. In this round a local contractor has hired you to redesign one of their company cars and make it ready for the track. They already gathered a few sponsors and has made a one-off vehicle to take to trackdays to have some fun."

Please read the rules below to make sure you don't miss anything when you post your entry, as ignoring them can get you disqualified.

CARS:
 • Get boxy. Don't even think about using a sports car.
 • If in doubt, use the Hiace, Alphard, i3, either Tesla, or any of the other mundane daily cars that you'd think works as a contractor car.
BODY PARTS / WIDEBODY:
 • Allowed, they did intend to race/drift this car at the local track.
LIVERIES:
 • Original inspired by a real contractor car. Their logo should be present on the car.
UNIQUE RESTRICTIONS:
 • Google contractor vehicle, company car etc. Or just pay attention in traffic in real life. You're bound to spot a carpenters or electricians car or something.
 • Still unsure? Ask.
BONUS PICTURE SETTINGS:
 • On the track/pit/paddock, showing it in action.
 • If you want, maybe even show what the original contractor "wrap" looks like?
USER MADE DECALS:
 • Allowed

GENERAL COMPETITION RULES

ENTRY SUBMISSION

 • The only way you can take part is to be a member of the GTPlanet forums. If you haven't created your account yet, click here.
 • Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text.
 • Unsure how to? Copy and paste the following: FINAL ENTRY
 • One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a competition.
 • You may change your entry once. Do it clearly; edit out your previous entry, and either post the new one in a new reply, or in place of the original.
 • Do not post "Honourable Mentions" or outtakes - just your Final Entry, that's all.
 • Absolutely no entries which utilise edited/hacked file saves.
 • Winner gets to choose the following month’s theme.
 • The organisers may ask for the original image/livery and it must be submitted if so.
 • It's recommended to share the original livery online (in-game) to prove it’s your work.

ENTRY PRESENTATION
 • All images shall have preview images which may not exceed 640 pixels in either direction (main and bonus pictures).
 • You have to post two main pictures of your entry using the mandatory location and settings as shown in the spoiler below.
 • You are allowed to post two bonus pictures in a spoiler (
...
) with free location and settings (unless the unique restrictions of the week’s theme specify something else).
 • You have to make one post with ONLY the set allowed number of pictures and the FINAL ENTRY (see above) mark. If you want to add precisions/background story/links, you are allowed to double-post under your entry, but please put all additional images in a spoiler. The best way to do it will be to "reply" to your own post.
 • It is recommended you host your image either here on GTPlanet (via the Media section), or on Flickr.
 • Not sure how to submit your image? Here's a guide for both methods mentioned above.
 • Still not sure how to? See below for other methods.
 • Do not attach your phots directly to your entry post.
 • A preview image must be representative of the full-size image. Do not add effects to it.
 • Please use a clickable-preview to full-size, not a separate text link for it; it makes poll creation much easier!
 • No post-game editing of any entry image is allowed.
 • Optional: Mark your entry with which platform you're on and which mode you're using, whether it’s taken on PS4 Base, PS4 Pro, PS5 Raytracing, PS5 Framerate or PS5 Pro.

MANDATORY PICTURES
 • While you can choose one or both scapes for your entry, you have to post a front and a rear quarter view of your car:
Mandatory Scape: Pit Lane / Oita - Japan or Aomori Museum of Art / Aomori - Japan
 • Focal Length: 60 - 85mm
 • Aperture: f5.6 - f16
 • Shutter Speed: 1/60 Second
 • Exposure Correction: +0.0 to +1.0 (screen dependent)
NOTE: if you have previously entered, just go to Scapes > My Library > click your previous entry > Open Scapes > change car to the new entry, refocus and snap a new photo. No need to reposition the camera/car unless its proportions are wildly different.

 • Do not use any Filters or Effects at all and only the camera setting above within the allowed limits; the pictures are supposed to be as equal as possible for all entries and not give anyone who is a bit more savvy with the Scapes Camera an advantage! Try to stay as close as possible to how the video shows the shot to be taken!

Please, ensure you read and understand all requirements for this competition. Failure to follow the rules may result in disqualification.
If you have questions, don't hesitate to start a conversation with me, Matski or any other participant you feel comfortable reaching out to.

PLEASE NOTE: Repeat offenders will be disqualified. If your entry doesn’t match the rules you will be made aware of it at least once, so please keep an eye out for any notifications reaching your profile.

DEADLINE

January 10th 2025, 23:59/11:59PM UTC+1

That's a very loveable and creative theme. I'm very excited, to see all these race ready contractor cars in the end!
It was a tough choice. It was either this or rally legends(Because of the Escort). I feel like all we make are race cars, and felt like going in a different direction this time. Hope to see a few Jimnys and Hiaces, and other cars this LEC hasn't seen many of :D

I also really hope we get a round for suits and/or helmets only again some day, iirc we've only seen it once and that was years ago!

NOTICE: I've started another photo mode competition, to co-exist alongside the LEC. The traditional PMC revival didn't go well, so I tried another revival idea - whenever you enter the LEC, be sure to head over to the PMC and enter it as well. If you don't win here, maybe you'll win there. Same rules apply, treat it the way you treat your bonus pics.

Go for it. Any company on any car, when I say local it doesn’t mean it needs to be local to you. Any and all interpretations are allowed.

Since comp creators can enter their own theme just wait and see what I’m entering.

I also encourage all of you to make a story like we once did in a round many years ago, the Sunday Cup round by @JKcreativeworks. That was fun. All entries sounded so believable too. :D

Get inspired by taking a trip down memory lane here.

Alright here we go, I've got 3 different ideas to choose from( it looks like the pagani's have to wait for me now, for at least a week🤣 ) so it's time to make some choices and push the throttle 🏎️

Looking forward to see and or read all of the entries, see you soon💪

Peace

FINAL ENTRY
Suzuka City Fire Department bought a custom-order special tuned ambulance they wanted to use as a medical unit at the Suzuka Circuit for the Super GT races that are held there. They commissioned me to design a wrap for this ambulance, and this is the result.

What started as a blank white canvas turned out to be a custom version of the TRD Hiace Concept, with a proper "safety car" suit to fit the Japanese racing scene.

Get the livery here, only things missing is the Suzuka City logo and the mascot.

I see after I did a pure white ambu for a pic I did I forgot to re-add the front bumper. Will edit my entry tonight to "re-attach" the bumper.

Entry edited, only difference is the front bumper. "Big" difference though.

This Hiace is inspired by a Peugeot Partner I came across while the dog took me for a walk in the neighborhood. I remade it's sad appearance with the catchy brand name of a party location and catering company in Munich in this picture:

I tried to imagine, what could be done with the theme of this catering van and make it a shiny show racer to catch attention for the company.

If you are interested, here's the link to the Hiace:

This made me smile.

1) while the dog took me for a walk.
2) I remade its sad appearance.

Of course it can!

FINAL ENTRY

PS5 RayTrace

That’s awesome. I was thinking about adding a ladder to my OneCo car for my superimposed photo thread, actually. creative!

One of my many work cars, this was my first and the inspiration for this theme, alongside Gatebil. Look it up! :D

Cool! What sort of witchcraft gets a photo with animation/flashing lights?
That would be a 10 second video in scapes at fullscreen preview, converted to a 20fps or something GIF. The original "high resolution" GIF I made was to big to upload here, and Flickr doesn't host GIFs so I had to turn to GIPHY, like @Raphaele here mentioned. :D

Also - thanks.

NCC is one of the biggest construction companies in Sweden. The orange and blue Battenburg markings are used by road agencies and contractors.

While the Battenburg pattern is pretty simple, I wanted to pay extra attention to the details: the size and spacing of the rectangles, the edge distances, panel gaps and the rounded corners. I also made Battenburg racing stripes across the bonnet and roof of the car.

This mildly modified racing version is sponsored by the tool brand Bahco, which I thought was appropriate for a construction company.

Edit: Story mode added below.

The last leaf was holding on to its branch, refusing to move on to the next phase along the natural cycle. Envious of its stubbornness, Sven Strömberg observed it from the window while the soft November drizzle tapdanced on the glass. His eyes drifted towards the horizon and a thought began to form somewhere – perhaps this would be the thought that mankind had been waiting for ever since she evolved into a conscious, thinking being? Perhaps this would be the thought that would explain it all and deliver us from the existenti…
Suddenly and with the magnitude of a small earthquake his phone vibrated on the desk and mercilessly ripped him back into the here and now that was his office and two hours and twenty minutes into his workday.
– Strömberg.
– Hey, it’s Janne. Accounting. Listen, I’ve got a bit of a problem here.
A mild headache presented itself. Sven sat down in his chair and listened to what the man had to say.
– I’ve got the financial results from October, and there’s a post here that… well, I can’t make sense of it.
You’re working with finances, Sven thought, of course it doesn’t make sense. But he prompted Janne to go on.
– Go on.
– Fuel expenses are up 10% in October, and it all seems to be from your department.
– Well, we are the road maintenance department. Our machines are not fuelled by happy thoughts alone.
Janne was not amused by this sad attempt of a joke and Sven almost felt compelled to apologise for it, but Janne gave him no time for that.
– See the problem is that the additional costs are not covered by the projects. It looks like the fuel expenses has nothing to do with the operational costs.
A four letter word printed out in bold letters in Sven’s mind. What has his crew done now?

Twelve minutes to lunch Sven’s 2008 Audi A6 Quattro came barrelling down the gravel road, muddy water from the puddles splashing all over its sun-bleached factory paintjob. With a flick of the steering wheel the car slid into the courtyard and came to a stop in front of the blue barracks where his crew’s team leader Hasse had his office. Sven stormed through the door and found Hasse with his head buried in a spreadsheet. Sven expected some kind of greeting but Hasse didn’t seem to take any notice of his arrival. A well-curated selection of explicits came bursting out his mouth. Hasse countered by gently moving his coffee cup to the other side of the desk to protect it from the barrage of curses and saliva.
– Good day Sven, he said, clicked on cell AC17 and typed a single digit.
– Care to explain these fuel costs? Sven threw a hastily printed A4 on his keyboard as if it had been a dagger. Hasse removed his terminal glasses, took a glance at the printout and nodded.
– Oh that. Yeah, I meant to tell you but it’s been pretty busy here.
Hasse clicked on cell AC18 and typed another digit.
– So you can explain?
– Sure, sure. Come with me.
He stood up and closed the laptop without saving, grabbed the high visibility jacket from the hanger on the wall and made a vague gesture in the general direction of the coffee machine.
– No thanks, said Sven. Not before lunch.
His initial rage had been disarmed and replaced with confusion. Hasse and his team had been Sven’s most difficult crew to manage since he was recruited to this job a little less than a decade ago. But they were skilled workers and had always finished their tasks on time, so they were afforded a bit of slack and were generally allowed to do things a little differently than other crews. But this time it was something Sven couldn’t just ignore – it was an accounting matter and trying to explain Hasse’s crew and their peculiarities to an accountant was a lost cause, that much was clear to him. So he had no choice but to follow up what was going on.

"Engine Maps Versus Expense Reports 2: Battle of the spreadsheets" :) I bet finance forgot to offset the Bahco sponsorship money, but can they win the Folkrace championship and show a profit?....

First of all, the Maruti & Nexa Service Teams wishes everyone a Happy New Year and hopefully a year with a lot of Love and Driving Pleasure. And because we love Suzuki and our Customers, we decided to expand our services, so we can help everyone in India with a Suzuki to have your car serviced or repaired in front of your house, so instead you have to come to the dealer, you can spend your time with Your Loved Ones.

A quick recap from 2019 to this moment,

Maruti Suzuki Service On Wheels – Doorstep Car Repair Service,

All car owners will certainly agree to one thing that regular car servicing is a very important part of maintaining your vehicle. However, you cringe at the thought of getting your car serviced due to traffic-filled roads, overloaded car service centers, and delays in getting a serviced car back. Maruti Suzuki, as always keeping customer convenience in mind, offers since 2019 car service at customer doorstep. Service on Wheels has boosted the existing strong Maruti Suzuki service network of over 3,600 workshops spread across more than 1,800 towns and cities.

What Is Service On Wheels?

‘Service on Wheels’ or SOW is a smart workshop on the move to offer customers the option of availing Maruti Suzuki car service at their doorsteps. Moreover, It is an endeavor to offer hassle-free car ownership experience to all Maruti Suzuki car owners. In other words, Maruti Suzuki has equipped it with all modern tools and technologies. It can undertake service, repairs, and other related jobs for all Maruti Suzuki passenger vehicles.

What Are The Important Features Of Service on Wheels?

Maruti Suzuki has equipped SOW with portable tools trolley for fast repairs
In addition, it contains ergonomic storage racks for spare parts
SOW has provision for underbody inspection and repair.
Service on Wheels is manned by Maruti Suzuki certified service manpower

What are the benefits of Service on Wheels?

‘Service on Wheels’ is a workshop built on a four-wheeler. In other words, they have designed SOW to meet the entire service needs of Maruti Suzuki customers
It is available for all engine variants including petrol, diesel, and CNG
Service on Wheels covers both paid and free services just like standard Maruti Suzuki Service Centre
It can conduct all car services like repairs, underbody inspection, oil changing, filter cleaning and much more
SOW is certainly very beneficial for all the Maruti Suzuki customers located in far-flung areas
It also caters to those customers in urban areas who are unable to visit the workshop due to lack of time.

We only encountered one problem, sadly our regular service car could not reach every place in India (we have a very beautiful country but some places are very demanding and a no go for most of the cars) so we decided to equip our new service cars the parts which they need to reach their destination, wherever in India.

And Now We Are At This Moment...

We are finally at the moment to reveal our three types of service cars, perfectly tuned by our house tuner MONSTER MOTORSPORT for each terrain and beautifully restyled by our Italian friends at Centro Creatione Nemo in 3 different colors for each service level we provide...
