You should hear the way the faithful are talking about Fox now. Lefties, never Trumpers, we're going to Newsmax and OAN...

So I don't wish COVID on anyone, but getting your legal challenges rona'ed when you insisted the virus would magically disappear after the election is some kind of twisted poetic justice. Hopefully, it just sidelines Bossie for a bit and nothing more serious.
Does that apply to Ben Carson contracting it, who's on the current Task Force?

Euro members can personally verify the validity of The Times, though I've read it is a legitimate source in the UK. They ran a story today about a man claiming he was asked to lie about Hunter Biden in exchange for a US visa.
The Stories of our Times podcast has spoken to a Ukrainian businessman who has admitted, for the first time, that he was asked to lie about Hunter Biden’s business dealings to damage Joe Biden’s reputation. In return, he was promised a US visa and legal immunity.
The allegations come from Hares Youssef, a Ukrainian businessman and close friend of Mr Firtash. An adviser to Viktor Yushchenko, the former president of Ukraine, Mr Youssef said that he was asked to invent links between Hunter Biden and a business deal with one of his former associates that had gone wrong.

“The deal was to lie,” Mr Youssef claimed. “I had never even met him. But the hunting dogs were out for Hunter Biden.”
According to Lev Parnas, one of Mr Giuliani’s associates, they had sought help in their quest for a scandal that would damage Joe Biden’s run for the presidency from Dmytro Firtash, a Kremlin-linked Ukrainian oligarch.

Mr Firtash, who has faced extradition to America since 2014, had cut a deal, Mr Parnas claimed, that would quash his extradition order in return for any evidence of scandal surrounding the Bidens. Mr Firtash, who was shown to have extended a $1 million loan to Mr Parnas during this period, has always denied any involvement in the smear campaign directed at the Bidens.
Hunter had ceased any association with the company before Mr Youssef made his investment in mbloom.

Yet last year, Mr Youssef briefly courted journalists with a story about Hunter’s links to the now-defunct mbloom fund and claims that he had promised businessmen access to his father in 2015, when Mr Biden was vice-president under Barack Obama. Mr Youssef had no evidence at the time to support his assertions and now he has admitted that it was all untrue.
Mr Youssef claimed a member of Mr Firtash’s team approached him, saying: “We can solve this relationship with America if you can help us.” He said that he was told his friend’s extradition order could be rescinded if he could find enough evidence against Hunter Biden.

He claimed that knowing that Mr Youssef had been involved with mbloom, the Firtash team asked him to create a story about Hunter Biden being linked to the doomed fund.

“But I told them Hunter Biden wasn’t linked to mbloom,” Mr Youssef insisted. “I said it was absolutely impossible because the documents I signed with this investment could appear anywhere and they would show Hunter Biden was not involved. It would break the story because it’s not true.”
During the period when he faced extradition to Spain, Mr Youssef said, his American visa was revoked.

“Somebody from Firtash’s team asked me if I wanted to get my visa back and to be able to travel to the United States again,” Mr Youssef claimed. “They said if we solved the problem in the United States, we can solve the problem of your visa, you can even get immunity, if we can use your investment in mbloom in this Hunter Biden case.”
The Trump campaign and Mr Giuliani declined to comment, but these fresh allegations have prompted calls for a new legal investigation into the Ukraine affair.

“This is entirely consistent with what I was tracking,” Colonel Vindman* said.

“We actually saw this stuff unfold during the hearings,” he said. “We saw attempts to exchange an investigation into the Bidens for a meeting in the White House or releasing the hold on foreign security assistance. So it doesn’t surprise me in the least.
*Colonel Vindman was a member of the US National Security Council specialising in Eurasian affairs when, as part of his job, he regularly listened to Mr Trump’s telephone conversations with the Ukrainian president. He complained to his superiors when he realised Mr Trump was seeking foreign interference in an American election by pressuring Mr Zelensky to launch an inquiry into the Bidens. After testifying against Mr Trump at the impeachment hearings, Colonel Vindman was attacked by the president on Twitter and eventually forced out of his job.

The Times is a Murdoch paper but above most of the dirty dishwater you'll find.

Proceed.

I'm almost at a loss reading this. Hares Youssef wasn't on trial or under oath. I'm not suggesting he's lying. But I'm suggesting if he's telling the truth this is potentially devastating. I'd be curious to know what Robert Muller, or anybody who worked on the investigation has to say about this and whether they think it's credible. If this story is true, it only proves again that Trump should have been removed from office after the impeachment hearing. And that Rudy Giuliani should be facing charges.

I wonder, once Trump is out of office and no longer protected by that office, if this investigation will resume.

Trump has come up with ‘frivolous, baseless claims’ of voter fraud: Nevada AG Aaron Ford

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trum...aims-says-nevada-ag-aaron-ford-114120527.html

“All four of the lawsuits that the Trump administration has filed in our state have been thrown out that I have been participating in,” explained Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford. “They continue to come with frivolous, baseless claims of speculation about voter fraud that's widespread, that ostensibly is changing the results of the election. And we continue to get them tossed out of court.”

One allegation the Trump campaign makes is that dead people voted in the election, said Ford, “but they've not filed a complaint with my office. They continue to operate through the media as a PR stunt to blow up my timeline on Twitter to make it appear as though we're not doing our job, when the fact is, they have not presented a complaint with us that we can even verify, let alone investigate.”

A favorite of the Trump family

Just more chaos created without substance and now his base will wonder why everyone is against Donald. Well, it will intensify since they already thought that.

Penn Jillette: You have one job, Joe:
Okay, so it's not over, there will be court fights, but Joe has won. I used to identify as Libertarian, I used to have opinions on government. I used to think I disagreed with Joe Biden on most everything, but I voted for him. I wanted the other guy fired and I wanted Joe hired and for me the job description is now very simple. I need Joe to love all the Trump supporters. I don't care if Joe raises taxes. I don't care if Joe helps add stupid, counterproductive regulations. I don't care about anything except love and kindness.

I've never seen Joe as a hero, but now we need a Nelson Mandela. We need MLK. And it needs to be Joe. We need someone who can love the people who hated him and lied about him. He must rise to the occasion.

Half the country voted for Trump. These people did not buy a pig in a poke like in 2016, these were people who knew what they were voting for and voted anyway. It's appalling and horrifying, but these people are not monsters. These people are our neighbors and our relatives. These people are us, and we need someone who can teach us to love them again.

Joe started saying the right things already, but he has to go all the way. Please, Joe, make me embarrassed to say anything bad about Trump supporters. Please fill all our hearts with love for each other. Please. This is Joe's chance to have the situation make him better than he has any right to be. Please teach us to love and understand and move on together.

You have one job, Joe -- love all of us.

Has there been any comment on why electorcal fraud is seemingly confined to the Presidential election and not the congressional elections on the same ballot in the same state as the fraud?

I think it's pretty obvious. Trump wants to stay in the White House. He doesn't really care about anything else. Congress? *shrugs with orange skin*

Trump wasn't standing in those?

It's outstandingly obvious, I was just wondering if there was even an iota of an attempt to acknowledge it.
Given the complete and total lack of evidence in the presidential election makes it clear why he probably don't know about the other houses where even up for election is clear. If he isn't involved it doesn't exist.

It just goes to prove that Trump, and perhaps more importantly, his band of loyal trumpettes, don't truly care about the whole legislative process of government/politics. They just want their man in the most important job in the country because for all they know or care, the president makes all the decisions and everyone else is there to pander to the presidents needs and whims.

Probably isn't even aware that the two Senators trying hardest to push for some investigation could have both lost as well. If they did, I assume they would have mentioned that there was fraud in their races as well.... and he'd ignore them.

Speaking of which, the popular vote gap is now nearly 4.7 million and climbing. It's about the size of Louisiana, or 8 electoral votes. If you want to put it into the perspective of voting population, because technically only the people who vote are steering the electoral award, then Biden's currently popular lead is more valuable than Virginia, or 12 electoral votes.

Edit: Which brings up another conundrum. Electoral votes are based on population, but not voting population. Currently, PA is recording 6.6 million votes, but IL only 5.4 million. They're both worth 20 electoral votes. Seems like a weird choice.

Weirdly, Biden is set to end up with a bigger margin in the EC than the popular vote. Just another example of how skewed the EC is.

I look through the Fox News website very day. It's sort of a depressing process. Aside from the official articles, there are the comments left by "regular folks". The majority of them are so extreme & so outlandish it's hard to imagine how it would be possible to reconcile to these people in any way. I don't know how representative the people making these comments are of Fox followers & Trump voters in general ... but I suspect fairly representative. And bear in mind that this is Fox, not InfoWars, OAN or QAnon. Tearing the average Republican voter away from Trumpism looks like a pretty hopeless task for Biden, - or Romney, for that matter. :indiff:

Trump's current round of nonsense is helping. The more absurd he looks, and the more society turns away from him, the fewer of them will be able to maintain the faith. Don't get me wrong, the ones posting on the Fox website are not likely to be turned.

By my calculations, which are actually NYT's calculations, Dems currently control a +7 majority in the House which is considerably weaker than what they had. Reds net gained 5 seats. But Dems could get +8 due to CA-39 which currently has nearly 320,000 votes counted but a Red margin of only 3,000 a 98% completion. It hasn't been called yet.
Just looked at the list again and it appears to be a +6 majority. IA-2 seems likely to go blue to make +7. It's possible for UT-4 to go blue as well but it would be extremely tight and we won't know for a week. @Joey D
