coughshutupcough cough cough cough.

Yeah, Max, there's a very specific setting that must be adhered to for the GTR Proto to go quickly. ;)

Shame my camera batteries have gone flat, I've broken some PB's...

Toyota 7: 7.430 / 7.990 NN
Nissan GTR Concept: 7.339 / 8.425 NN () Edit: make that 8.424 :D

Just out of curiousity Mafs, how are you shifting in the GTR?? My technique is seeming to work better in the NN runs... I couldn't help but laugh when my first re-run was a 8.471! And with the Toyota 7, all I did was take off the front downforce. I had it at 18 for some reason :odd:

Very nice macca. 👍 Especially with the NN run....I haven't gone all out yet, I just wanted to get #1 at the time so watch out when I get back up and running! ;)

With nitrous, I'm shifting as quickly as possible, but there is a dip in the car when it grabs traction as you probably well know...that's the major spot where the time gets lost or gained, other than that my launches are different to yours from your previous posts about your rpm levels.

With No Nitrous, I haven't checked the settings out, all I did was bump the ballast back a crapload, took off the NOS and ran it once.

He hasn't re-run it since he took my record away... And I believe the answer would be no on the rotary-only list.

Because unlike the Spec-Cs, the RX-7s CAN be beaten. So there's no need for the separate leaderboard.

Thankyou, secretary RJ for the correct answer. 👍

It's as he said mazdaman, we don't normally run any faster if we're #1 but sometimes we do for personal satisfaction. It's like the Fatboy Slim shirt says, "I'm #1 already, so why try harder?". ;) And the RX7 doesn't need it's own board, it's deliberately in RWD as it's piston vs rotor or domestic vs import, whatever angle you look at it.

Excellent, I found some working batteries :D

Come on Macca.....I expect better than replay theatre, ESPECIALLY from you. ;) Are you going to do for TCv5 judging too?? :P

Like I said before, I'll update after I move but keep the times coming. 👍

I have a question for Max and RJ re the Bathurst RX-7:

How much time will a decent box take off as opp to the FC/default? I got down to 8.45 through guesswork and experimentation, but my tranny was so crap it ran about as fast as the default tune. Will a decent tranny take 0.2-0.25 sec off my time? There are other settings that need to be tweaked, but I think the gears are the main problem.

Thanks,

PF

Let's find out, shall we?

Just now with my gearing and a unknown suspension setting + average shifting, an 8.217.

Default: 8.298 using 5 of the 6 gears.

Remember, PF is talking about the Bathurst R, not the Spirit R. ;) I would've said a bit more than only 0.08 though, but it does depend on which car you use too (and the fact that RJ always claims he can't drive :P). Some have gearshifts that you could make a cup of coffee between as the experienced ones would/should know and others are almost instantaneous.

I had the Bathurst R doing 8.318 AGES ago, when I pop up there PF I'll pass some of the tranny specs onto you.

Thanks a heap for doing that RJ!

So even if it's a full point I need another .15 out of the suspension or perhaps hardware setup. Still fully in the 'experiment' stage, only done about an hour's work on it, so it could be possible.

And thanks mafs, I'd planned on asking you to look over the car for me.

EDIT: @mafs, forecast for Friday night is -3C, your car will love it

You're going to be sick then watching how quickly I create the cars for you PF. :embarrassed: Look at 20-30 minutes per car tops, depending on the setup we need or require. :dopey:

14hrs till I'm out of Sydney......I think, atleast the car problem was a false alarm as it was a fuse coming off the thermo fan causing a lil' overheating. :embarrassed: Moved the wire back in the fuse holder and voila, working fans. Got to get my blue slip and rego before 5pm though, so I've got 3hrs to get it all done. 👍

Be back soon muppets. :D

*added bit* -3*C?!?!?! Get me extra blankets STAT!!!

Just thought I'd show you guys the video of my recent GTR runs, and the HSR-II... only one that hasn't been improved yet is the S-Tune.

Im guessing you used s5 turbo on the gtr tuned skyline. Also im realizing the rsh and rss combo does this work on the spirit r. I have a question to rj if you dont mind answering what is te trap speed of your spirit r???

8.277 with the RX7 Bathurst. Not my PB (.274) but getting closer to the line. Pic will follow if I beat Max's time. Mafs got a .261 with a similar tune so I know it's possible.

PF, can you send those Bathurst R settings I did for you at your house through PM mate?? Thanks. 👍

I will get to updating the list later on today or tomorrow (still organising stuff here, like setting up the PS2) and getting back into the 1/4 mile thrashing again. That Bathurst R record is going to be in REAL trouble. :mischievous: Like PF said, I got 8.261 at his house during my drag tutorial (with an 8.264 backup run) so that extra .005 to beat Max is very very possible if I can get the shift points PERFECT and not let it change gears as slow as a sundial. :P

That's if PF doesn't do it first, he beat my previous PB time in 10 minutes the other day. :embarrassed:

Can I just report you for being a complete retard with that question?? :irked: ESPECIALLY SINCE I JUST EXPLAINED MYSELF THAT I WAS DOING THE BIG UPDATE TODAY OR TOMORROW IN THE PREVIOUS POST!!! :grumpy:

I ALSO EXPLAINED WHY THERE WERE NOT GOING TO BE ANY UPDATES IN A WHILE IN THIS POST!!

Now, practice what your user title says and shut up, I'll get to updating later today or tomorrow and your time can go up.

Or do you need that PM'ed & re-quoted in Size 7 format?? :dunce:

That was by far the most funny post I have ever seen. Are you sure it won't get you in trouble with moderators, though?

Anyways, I'm planning to attack the Viper SRT-10, '02 Mazda RX7 Spirit R, and probably Lotus Esprit 350 times. Hopefully I will get some results! 👍

i am now running a 8.353 with the mazda:crazy:, not enough:ouch:, but good enough for only 30 minutes of tuning:dopey:

Not really (well, I seriously hope not). I think they will agree with my side on this one by pointing out someone's complete stupidity for not even reading the last post.....let alone the previous time I've mentioned it in this thread alone. It's been discussed before though and known between the moderator crew that I am quite blunt when it comes to pointing things out and it does push the boundaries at times. :ill: I wonder myself sometimes with some comments I've made previously asking was that 'too far' but sometimes the point DOES need to be illustrated, no matter what the cost.

To tell you the truth, these things (infractions) usually happen when I'm ill or after a real stressful time. I can recall each time I've done something wrong by the AUP on here and how I was at the time and what I was dealing with at those times, it's just I mention what I'm doing a bit more on here now, opening up a bit more you know. Semi-therapy. :sly:

It's not really private knowledge that I was relocating anyway, I've said it in GME, TCv5, here, most areas of GTPlanet, everywhere except down a sewer pipe.

Thanks for the compliment. 👍

Always eager to see what people come up with, good luck C-L. :D:tup:

*added bit* Well, I have a reason to laugh at Glanza-V. He was so insistent on having his car up I went and checked for it first. Now, HE quotes it as a MINE'S GT-R. It would be good if it actually said so in the photo as all it has is Skyline GT-R V-Spec N1. To me, it could've been a normal NISSAN GT-R V-Spec N1. So that photo needs to be fixed up or the time needs re-doing.

Apart from that, all other times (including a missing pre-75 Non-US time) HAVE been updated. On the mix-up in FR, I still have that at hand, and will supply a quick pic to fill the gap. ;)

Well im tuning the gtr getting back at msqueegy he ran some good times so now i gotta tweak suspension a little.

Dude, stop trying to debate a lost cause because you are basically using a chopstick in a gun fight here. :dunce:

You are a second behind Macca's Tuner Village Nismo GT-R's when they are fully done. Even with his 8.581 in the Nissan R34 V-Spec II Nur, that was done without nitrous and is STILL 0.545 quicker than what you have accomplished so far.

Do you want to give me more evidence to validate my point further that there is daylight between what you have done and the other top tuners on here??

And don't respond with the 'it's not fully done yet'....I don't care, I already told you what I thought previously.
