(Don't worry about the date on the photo, I'd just formatted the SD card and forgot to reset the date settings).

That NN record WILL go today Macca, I can almost guarantee it.

I've been slacking off the last few weeks. so I'll catch up with you guys soon.

Some interesting times have been posted resently,
just to mention and congratulate C L with SRT10 👍

Think you can replicate your success with the SRT4 ? :mischievous:

And ofcourse mcsqueegy with the 4WD's! 👍

My current project:

Dodge Charger Super Bee 426 Hemi '71

current time 9.598

Will get faster when I continue tuning.

MadMax

ps. Thx mcsqueegy for pointing out the Buick time. 👍

I told all of you the NN record would be mine by tonight and almost guaranteed it. Well, I CAN GUARANTEE IT NOW!!

Yes, I STILL haven't changed the date on the camera. :embarrassed:

What makes it more sick macca....I can do that run REPEATEDLY. *evil *

I also ran .424, .425, .426, .427, .428 & .430 to reach that target.

It's amazing what you can do when you're pissed off at something else. ;)

. It's like Red Bull mixed with the duracell bunny! :scared:

I'm not very consistent with the launches, but I did get 8.425 FOUR times, plus a .427. It's my turn to be pissed off now... taking a record by 0.001 is just mean, dude :P. There's room for more, but I don't want to sacrifice my controller doing so. Right now I've been packing my PS2... moving house sucks, as I'm sure you know!

I will see what I can do. I don't have any use for the FF cars in the game, so it will be funny to see how do they work on the strip. :)

EDIT: After tuning the SRT-10, I could see if I can get the GT-R to do lower times. It will be very hard, but it should be fun at least.

I got the RX7 Bathurst down to 8.255, will try to get a bit more out of it then post a pic tomorrow.

🤬 yeah PF!! :D I knew you could do it bro. 👍 The GME bumblebee tune works it's magic again. :sly::sly::D:D:D:D *dances a little dance*

Are they the same settings I gave you or slight tweaks to that setup?? ;)

I went through the setup and tested every part of it (again). The most significant changes were to the springs and gearing. Still unsure about the diff settings but I can't do any better so they're the same. I'm sure there's more in it but my times are not consistent, so I haven't had a good enough run to beat it.

Yeah, I knew gearing would need to be improved but when I only had 12hrs to help things out that was the best way to do things at that time, but hey, in that quick time it still got us within 0.004 of Max's time at that moment. :sly:

Since I re-took the NN GT-R record (and since macca's moving that #1 spot should be safe for a few days) I'll get the settings from our PM's and retry the Bumblebee again.

Can't wait for the pic though. I KNOW you did it and can vouch for you on behalf of the guys, it's just the rules I set is that I won't put up a time without the pic. Well done sir. :D

Yeah, that's cool, am waiting for a chance to use Princess's phone, just thought I'd let you know it was done and hopefully get another hundredth or so off it. When you beat my time (as I'm sure you will) we should compare settings via PM and see how far we can take it.

Well done sir

Cheers bro, and thanks for all your help. Re: consistency, my top times (we didn't save the times when you were here, .261 was the best):
8.255, 8.260, 8.264, 8.265, 8.269.
This suggests to me I have a problem with launch and shifting, or perhaps overall technique. Is that a fair conclusion?

I'd be willing to test what you have built and I can answer the question more precicely.

In return I can pm you my barthurst setup. :D

Neither. It's a case of the RX7 being a complete and utter mongrel to keep consistent. It's the same with the GT-R. I can go from 7.33's to 7.37's just from a slightly missed shift point, and I mean only missing it by only 50-100rpm!!

Bingo, never mind trying to get a consistent launch (other than WOT and nail the spray the instant the clutch starts to release) out of the bloody thing (which I'm sure is where I'm losing time).

Question is shift points that serious no redline and etc etc cause i have realized the car isnt consistant. Also i see its running faster with hard tires in the front.

That bit, not exactly true. Unlike GT3, there's really no difference between R1's & R5's on the front in FR cars.

As for the rest of the comment..........ENGLISH PLEASE!! I don't speak ebonics!

Sorry about that let me explain im saying am i wasting more time shifting at the redline than shifting suitable rpm such as 7500???

It depends on the gear you're in. First 3 gears I'd say around 8000rpm for shift point, then maybe between 7500-8000rpm for the rest of the gears.

Down to 8.253 but still unpredictable. If we get a power outage right now I'll bloody kill something.

Spot on mafs, but you have to nail it to within (I'd guess) about 20rpm to avoid losing more than 0.01x. Although this would also depend on the gear setup.

EDIT: I've gotta walk away. Too much caffeine = got the shakes and keep shifting from 1st-3rd

Currently 0.300 away from the SRT-4, but considering I barely started to fine tune the car, I should be able to come closer to the time. Oh, and bested my GT-R record, now it's 7.414. Don't worry, mafs. Once I get the times a bit lower, I will take some pics for you, you greasy monkey. :P  That will have to wait, though. This is my last vacation week before I start the three months of school left for this year. So... between study and all that stuff, it may take a while. :(

Oh, and I have yet to buy and tune the Mazda RX-7 Spirit R. While I'm at it, I will buy a Mazda Atenza and a RX-8.

@C-L:
Nice work mate on the SRT, so keep it up. I'm also keen to see your score on the Spirit R to compare to the Bathurst.

@Others: he's gotta be the best newbie to get onto the lists for a while...
+ serious rep IMO

The only GT-R record I have ever set, friend. If it can be called a "record", that is, given the fact you and macca are over 0.100 faster than me.

Just to be precise, this record: 3. Codename L - Nissan GT-R Concept '01 - 7.449.
And yes, I am an idiot. It's 7.414, not 8.414.

By the way, thanks for the compliment PF. 👍

Ahhh, I see more clearly now. For a second there I thought you beat the NN record. ;) I was about to pull my hair out again. :P

7.414, that's less than 0.100 now C-L. You're getting in the range. 👍

Hey Mafs ,

I've been thinking of following category for 1/4 mile:
(to keep things interesting)

Streetracer's Open N-Class (Road cars)

Basicly Any road car can enter using N1 , N2 or N3 tyres.

Why?
: For real world performance! :D

People, tell me what you think?

MadMax

S class I might have considered it, N class however.....HELL NO. I'm looking for the quickest, not the quickest but restricted in so many ways that it doesn't matter what it's time is.

And what do you mean to keep things interesting, there's been changes in the leaderboard in a few categories lately. Besides, you've got to get back on bettering that Viper time of yours. ;) Your RX7 Bathurst R time was beaten by a grease monkey assisted newbie aswell in PF. I'm only .002 from doing that myself now (8.259) since I've had some more time to play with it. ;) Your Spirit R record will be next, and then I might get back into aiming for my 7.299 GT-R. :mischievous:

Heh, I knew you'd love the idea :mischievous:
But mainly I thought that it would be interesting to see more balanced dragsters ,
for a change compared to superlight powerhouses

I mean that I've ran almost every reasonably fast car in the game
and find it difficult to pick a car I've newer used before.

I've alredy reran the SRT10 with decent results. 8.113 at best..
Guite finished with it..
And what comes to GTR concept, It's giving me a headache ,
so gotta admit that I can't be good at everything.

Just to mention, My RX7 Barthurst R time was done using old settings.
Similar to ones that got the Spirit R do 8.18's so I still have a trick or two in
my sleeve just to counter the recent competition. :sly:
