The S class would be a better balance because N class is basically wheelspin city for anything over 400hp, regardless of TCS level.

8.18's you say for the Bathurst R?? Nicely played sir. 👍👍👍

As for finding it difficult to pick newer cars, sometimes it's a case of going over what you have already done and getting back onto that horse and improving that. You know yourself, you might have thought you got all you can out of it, I know you better than that....you've still got heaps to go and you know it too.👍

I mean, I've just gone back to the Bathurst R after 18mths, so I'm just getting used to the way the rotor takes off, etc. and been racing the 1/4 religiously now for over 3yrs and it never gets boring, especially when so many new faces have come and gone over the time and always raising that bar higher, forcing me to find that new way I previously hadn't discovered after thinking I couldn't go any faster with that car.

I've been so focused and stuck on the GT-R for both NOS and NN that I had almost lost my touch with the other cars, that's one of the reasons I got back into the RX7 and wham, improving my PB's again with it when I thought I was done with that car.

Ah, I misread that. My mistake, sorry. :)

Since that's the case, I wonder what your 8.125/Spirit R tune would do on the Bathurst R. 💡

I've alredy reran the SRT10 with decent results. 8.113 at best...

We are in the same conditions with the car, it seems. As I said before, I couldn't repeat the 8.093 time. So, I will just leave it at that. 2nd place is good enough for me.

As for the SRT4, I'm now 0.200 behind. Things are getting troublesome. I will see what I can do tonight.

Mafs, I took a pic of the GT-R. I will upload it later today, I can't seem to transfer the pic from the camera to the computer :banghead:. Anyways, I got 8.411, but the pic reads 8.412. Reason is, I took the 8.412 pic, saved the camera, and a few minutes afterward, got 8.411. I honestly couldn't be bothered to take another pic just for 0.001. :indiff: (Funny, considering that's what separates my Viper from second place to tie with first place.)

PF, the easiest way I found to chop a lot of time off was 30/30 DF on the Viper. Apart from that, it was a similar thing to the RX7 in some areas. 👍 That, and a lot of the time is made up in the first four gears, not banging through them like we do in the Bathurst R. :)

I'll tell you later. I'm about to put the Barthurst back to track.
So I'm expecting atleast 8.22's
If the tune gives in enought It will run 8.2 flat :mischievous:
Then it's just matter of stamina to push it in 8.1's

Time for 2nd report.

I've got the time down to 8.192 with the RX-7 Bathurst R :D

160+ km behind 1/4 mile a time= ~400 times 400m

I will have the camera at monday for the picture.
And as I know how mutch Mafs likes about replay theatre pic,
I'll try to take the picture from the replay itself at finishline.

PF
Wow. I'm seriiously impressed now. Well done mate

I got the time down to 8.209 using Spirit R setup
then I changed final gear and ballast a little -> 8.201 (so close)
Then I finally re set the gears and got the 8.192

I also tested those settings on my Spirit R and reached 8.115 :mischievous:

Now I really miss my camera :(
Have to wait till monday..

Great job, MadMax86.
I'm not so lucky with the SRT-4, still 0.135 behind your time. :ouch: I can't seem to make the car faster. Perhaps I will change the gearing later.

Wow. Just wow. *clap clap clap clap clap* I am just stunned and impressed at those numbers. So much so that this story must be added to GT4 folklore. :P

In the GT4 tuning world....first we had Leo and Greycap, the Mad Finn Tuners. Now we have Max, who just takes the word mad, flushes it down the toilet and goes absolutely insane with his drag tunes!!

Meet MadMax86, the Insane Finn Tuner.

Awesome efforts all around. 👍

I wonder if RJ has another crack at the record??

PF, looks like I have to go back to the drawing board my friend. :P

Congrats to Maxie with the RX7's... scary stuff there!

I forgot that I'd improved my GTR time, but it took a while to find the pic!

Yeah, I know it's not much, but oh well :P

Not much is better than nothing Macca. 👍 Time updated for you.

I'll get back onto the strip in a couple of days, I have more TCv5 judging to do (rest of heavyweight & supercar). Keep it up boys.

Not the fastest time out there, but an improvement none the less. 👍

Since I took two pictures, I thought I should upload both.

By the way, awesome times Max. 👍

Max, I saw the problem with your pictures......you left your flash on, I can see four white bulbs with crappy pictures around them. ;)

It honestly looks like it says 8.116 or 8.118 to me, even after zooming in about 400% with the Spirit R but I can make out the Bathurst R time pretty well. I know you've said 8.115 but I'll have to knock it back to the 8.116 because that's what I can see.

If you can re-do the Spirit R one it would be much appreciated, even with replay theatre just so the time is clearer to see. 👍

I've updated all the times and made it 8.116 with a little note just for confirmation of the 8.115.

Hey mafia boy ive got a little sucess thanks to mad max with his advice and a little bit of tuning i manged to run 8.200. Pics will be uploaded

Don't double post....you've been warned before mazdaman.

Secondly, your picture is a fail. I can't see 🤬 so no soup for you.

No problem, I'll give you link to the unedite(full size picture at imageshack).
I knew the pictures were bad quality and the shutter was just too slow to
get a picture from replay without flash.

I've run the 8.115 twice now with 2 slightly different setups, so there may be more to be chopped off :mischievous:

And here is mazdaman's picture attached properly:
(it's still very small. try not to resize the picture)

Theeeeere we go.

Edit: Max, I'd quite like to see/hear the range you're running your ballast in and if you're using a launch technique other than WOT and spray the instant the clutch starts to let out. Exact numbers aren't needed, just a general range.

You'll have to explain me WOT and spray technique 1st,
but I think you mean the thing I call "NOS in to stop wheelspin" -technique.

And I'm running with very heavy ballast.

Enought said.

MadMax

Wide open throttle = WOT.

My current launch is just wide open throttle bouncing off the limiter until the run "starts" and the RPM starts to come down from the clutch releasing, at which point I hit the nitrous.

Ok, thanks for explaining this. 👍
