For the people who have their RX-7's in the 8.1XX. What setup did you guys use XD. I am stuck in the 8.2's with a best of 8.227. I am messing with gearing right now and gotten my car to at least be more consistent at the moment.

Easiest thing to let you know is to check your Toe Angle and your ride height, and I'll leave it at that. ;)

By the way, get yourself a camera.......they're cheap as chips these days (looking at $50US for an 8 to 10 megapixel camera) or borrow a friends mobile phone and take a photo and upload it to imageshack for your times (this includes 1000m runs as I saw in that thread!!).

Hmm toe angle. I think i got my ride height good so I'll check that out. I guess I'm going to have to borrow my parents camera phone then :P

You may think your ride height is good, but I can tell you now, you'd be shocked at how different the RX7 is compared to the other FR's when it comes to tuning.

Yes, borrowing your parents camera phone is a good idea. 👍 A lot of pics in the thread come from mobile phones now. :)

My first 8.1x run was with the "normal" ride height. But yes, it's not the fast way.

Still haven't found much from the toe settings, a lot of it is gearing and correct shift points.

I don't know where I'm doing bad at cuss it can't be the 0-60mph time Seeing as i busted 1.4's before. Shifting at the correct spot may be it, but i tried different spots before :/. It might be 0-100mph but i don't know.

There is a small (and I mean small, like a 20 to 50rpm range) sweet spot where if you shift correctly, the gearchange happens instantly. It's the same with the other fast cars (Escudo, R35 Prototype, Viper for example).

:)
You can say that again I've been having the fever to run another
Spirit R so far 8.140's with the new set up.

mazdaman, fix your sig unless I'm bloody blind.

I'm 3rd, you're 4th. Forgotten that both Macca and Max are past me?

Edit: Oh and regarding the RX-7 again... Launch technique. Hold it at WOT then right when the revs start dropping hit the spray. Doesn't shock the tires as hard and therefore causes less wheelspin.

I truly did gotta change it again. Do you have a video showing WOT?

Well I just notice my rx7 had less power then usual having 625hp and 493 ft-lbs of torque instead of 639 and 500. Got an oil change to put it back to normal got a setup close to what i had before and ran a 8.239 and may be able to get a little more out of it. I been doing my launches on WOT holding the nitrous button the whole time. Rotary junkie whats your 0-100 or 0-60 times? i want to compare to see where the issue is.

What's your suspension set up maybe I can help you out?

You want me to pm it to you?

i think the issue was my traction control system holding me back from 8.1's XD. I ran a best of 8.216 with the launch trick then realized that my t/c was set at 8 XD i put it down to 7 and busted a 8.194 just now and i realized i was doing this at test course so i need to go to the Vegas strip and see what i get their.

Looks like everyone has RX7 fever again, I might have to come back out of retirement to put you youngin's in your places. :P

I really like to see a stock turbo nitrous or no nitrous class :)

Or street tire (Sports tires) class

Obviously you don't read the first post. There IS a No Nitrous class, for both Road AND Race Cars. Check the bottom two categories of the list.

There will not be an S class tyre category, I've thought about that many times and what the hell are you talking about with stock turbo nitrous class!? :odd:

...what the hell are you talking about with stock turbo nitrous class!? :odd:

I think he means turbocharged cars with no modifications except nitrous. Which means anyone with half a brain is going to use the Escudo for that.

I'm talking about using the stock turbo only. Like not upgrade to a stage 1-4 turbo. You can still add all the other parts like muffler ecu engine balancing etc. and nitrous depending on if the category allows nitrous or not. Like those 10 second evo's using the stock turbo. You don't have to include the escudo or the spec c sti in it and they could have their own category if needed.

Unless you talking about the le mans rx7.

I was about to say the same thing earlyer

I went back to GT1 to trick out some of the fastest buyable cars:
Skyline GT-R Vspec , GTO TwinTurbo , TRD3000 (non buyable)
Integra Type R and Mazda RX-7 FD Type A (or was it spec A?)

I wonder if anybody knows the 1/4 mile records for these cars with racing modification?
Because one of them would make it to (GT4) non nitrous Race Car chart

Well, first things first welcome to :gtplanet: Im Mazdaman. This thread is open rules and time are on page one. Would love to see what you can put on the chart goodluck...

How the heck do you guys get those times?!:( The best i could do was a 8.5 with a Toyota GT-1, stage 4 turbo, and nitrous. How do you get a normal road going car in the sub-8's? Those times are impressive...:(
