The GTPlanet 1/4 MILE Record thread!!

Basically, it's like this:

I took over from K-Briggs but not long after that I was disconnected from the net, only coming on to update times from my mother's or friends PC's for nearly 2yrs. So I hadn't been very diligent in either merging/streamlining categories or creating many new ones. The SUV chart is a good one I've added to the list however.
With the 1/4 mile categories, I'll be delving into it a lot more deeply, splitting those Classic categories to US & Non-US cars, muscle cars will merge with Classic, getting rid of the class racing concept and just putting a No Nitrous Road Car & Race Car Top 10 up. :D

Give it a bit though....it won't happen overnight but it will happen, as I'm still catching up on GT4 challenges put up on here over the past since I was offline. :)

Mafs!!

My suggestion: Make the muscle car bracket just a Classic American bracket, and make the Classics bracket something for anything but american cars. Also, Instead of doing away with classes in favor of a top-10 road cars and race cars, just make that list somewhere in the post too. IMO if you kill the brackets then everybody will be racing a Spec C Subaru and one killer fast Group C race car. I think that would kill the diverse setup you have.

Also, maybe inside the brackets just in parenthese tell whether the run was with or without nitrous.

In the end, just add the Top-10 Lists, don't kill the brackets. Please

I'd like to claim 2nd place in the Classic Non American bracket please.

'73 Nissan Skyline GT-R - 11.916

I know it can go faster . . . Going back to make it so.

Ahem......I'll add you in there for the time being but only temporary, I would like a bit of photo proof please Paragon. Just an 💡 ya know. :)

Mustang, read my post properly again and realise that you were a parrot just then, repeating what I had already said. :sly:

American Muscle IS the Classic Production American car category, so anything American that's pre-1975 will go there, and all American cars in GT4 that were that era were FR and considering 3 categories were covering the same cars it made sense to put it into one......anything else goes in production classics NON-US. Capishe?? 👍

Mafs!!

Thanks Mafs. I try to shoot one at some point this weekend.

Do you want a picture of the leader board where it sits? Or one taken from the replay?

Sorry about being a parrot there. I misread, my mistake. Love what you are doing with this. Also, I have a no-nitrous 9.788 run in a Viper GTS-R Concept. But, Is it okay if I just take a picture of my records screen that shows that, or no? It'll be hard to do again so I would like to know before I go all out on getting that time again. Made the run a few days ago, and didn't take a picture, I didn't know this thread existed

If you have the replay saved to the MC, you will have it in replay theatre, which will show the time and the date of the run and then you can take a picture of the time and the screen where your NOS isn't hooked up....it's a safer option of keeping your times and still be able to upload them. :) Otherwise, keep the camera handy and if you make a good time or break a record, take a picture straightaway on the session record screen & replay and take the pic at the finish line (after you pause the replay that is!! :)) I can't accept it from the records screen because it doesn't indicate whether it's a no nitrous run or not and the only way I can verify it is by seeing a screenshot in replay.

I know it sucks, but they were the rules before I took over and I'm not changing that aspect of it.

Like I said in the 1000m thread when MY time wasn't accepted due to image being too small, all that gives you is an excuse to go and break that record.
(Psst, I-Runner....I've shaved a bee's wang off your Spec-C time. :sly: )

Give it another go, 9.788 is a very achievable time w/o NOS. To be honest, I reckon around the 9.5xx mark is obtainable with that car. :D I'll be breaking the ice myself later tonight with these classes and bringing something to go mid 10s for a Non-US car. :)

i can go faster ..my Spec C is without wings .... :)

Beautiful vid I-Runner. :) But I can see that you're running out of gearing nice and early.....6s are attainable from what I can see there. I'm going to be analysing your run in more detail to see what can be improved on a top end aspect my friend. But I will say this, what a phenomenal launch!! :D

Jesus, another thing to add to the list of things to do on GT4. And I'm babysitting tonight and have a mate over who's not GT4 crazy like I am. 👎

Alright, I understand where you are coming from with the records screen not showing all thats needed. A 9.5 is probably achievable without NOS, but I'm still a bit new to the drag racing in GT4. Also, does everyone use TCS except the guys with the light trucks? I'm going without it.

Thanks mafs 👍

the gear setting is the same of the other times...
but suspensions and LSD are important too!

The escudo is "random" time car
..the run before 8.3xx .. 8.081 ..8.102 ..8.3xx ..

you must resist ! 👍

MustangGT90210, unless you're racing with some SUV's, then go with the TCS, it's essential for an FF racer and anything else benefits from it. :) You'll see the tenths you shed off your time. If you're doing 9.7's without TCS, then good effort. :)

I-Runner, I know what you mean with the Random launch, my Spec-C's in a similar boat at the moment....8500-9000rpm launches mean it's either low 7.7's or mid 7.8's when I'm going for your 1000m times. Mainly depending on how much over the cut-out I'm at when the green light drops. :) Otherwise it's tuned to a shorter gearing to hit 310km/h top speed on the 1/4 and I launch completely differently (about 7200-7500rpm) to gain that 7.6sec 1/4 mile ET.

Ahh well thats gonna make my life EASY! Thanks for the clarification mafs

New Time !

Ok, Here is a little proof.

Sorry that the images are kind of crappy. My digital camera died and all I had available is my camera phone.
New time on the '73 GT-R - 11.208

And the '71 240ZG - 10.991

I also hit 10.770 with the 240ZG, and saved the replay, but I haven't snapped a pic of it yet.

Well, I just did some testing with the No Nitrous road cars, and I can safely say we will all be doing 9s with the right 4WD/FR/MR/RR car and the magic number being an 8sec pass (8.999 or lower). I've just completed a high 9@237km/h pass with the RX7 without even trying, 2 minutes of tuning tops....I'm not entering the time in the chart, but it's an indication of how quick we can all go.

Mafs!!

P.S. Chart updated for I-Runner & Paragon's times.

(With and ) without Nos ..try the Esprit 350 ;) ;)

👍 thanks

wow guys very impressive #s in here. and i felt proud when i hit 7.914 in a spec c with no aero or suspension tuning, just messed with tcs, gears, nos, and the torque split. (dont ask for vid, ps2 broke) and someone did a 6.1. i have a q for the guy who ran 6.1 and here it is. did you put crack or someting in your car? darn man!

I have a V8 GT & an SE. :) I know how quick the Esprits are. :sly: The Spec-C was respectable too with the bottle off, regardless of what people say on here. I'll let you all find that one out for yourselves though and get some others on the board too. ;)

3000GT will be next on my list. :) But I can't get over how the RX7 ran, reminded me so much of the good 9sec street rotors here with the engine note on acceleration, I might attack it some more first.

Mafs!!

P.S. wrcsti, for me personally, I look at Cheezman's 6.1sec run like Barry Bonds 756th home run.....there's something odd about it.

Merry Christmas to you too I-R. :) Same goes with everyone else, and drive safely on the roads over the holidays everyone, only drive psycho on GT4. :D We don't want any less members after this holiday period. :(

(((---NON-US PRODUCTION CARS CLASSICS UP TO 1975---)))

I dont understand this, dose it mean no american cars or ones that were not sold to the USA?

Sorry i just looked back some posts and found out :)

Does this get updated weekly?

I have proof if the current 'owner' of this competition wants it, will be up tommorrow.

So that (if and when my picture is accepted) will put my humble little skyline in 5th in the 4WD! awesome!

Unless there are some rules that i dont know about?
