I've noticed the thing with Americans and British. The former usually state their state (no pun intended) albeit not their town, the later never just say UK. I guess comes from being big countries and all.
 
I've noticed the thing with Americans and British. The former usually state their state (no pun intended) albeit not their town, the later never just say UK. I guess comes from being big countries and all.
Mainly because a state is all that is needed for the map purposes.

But in general conversation it is the same because no one cares where places like Munfordville are. If you aren't in the handful of larger cities in your state then chances are that you live in a town with 10,000 people, maybe less, and no one knows where you are talking about even if you name the town.
 
Has anyone given a shout out to Jersey, Channel Islands? If not then yes, it does exist and I'm there!
 
China for the most part but currently on business in Hong Kong. Oh, wait, I guess Hing Kong isn't British any more so just China.
Nice idea for a thread by the way.
