Heh, that was actually one of my old series.

Not only do they race them, but they race them for 24 hours...

Hey Carlos, are you familiar with the AVS Shadow? it didnt work either.

Even a huge wing didnt help. They thought putting the radiators in the wing was a good idea....

Yes I am! I have a magazine that had written about this. :D Such a cool car. Made a photo (bad quality, it's midnight here) :

They even reported in their magazine a few months later that it was for sale. And if I remember correctly they fixed a lot of issues so it could be driven properly. Should take a moment to read it again.

In South Korea's small motorsports scene is this series called the SUV Speed Championship. All the SUVs I'm seeing looks to be from Hyundai, Kia and SsangYong.

A vectra is a totally different model , actually the vectra replaced the cav ... and no it's a Vauxhall

Opel and Vauxhall merged the naming systems, some Vauxhall names were kept for some models (Astra over Rekord) and some Opel names were kept (Vectra over Cavalier).

The rest of your post is correct, but Astra replaced Kadett, not Rekord, the Rekord was replaced within Opel naming system by Omega (the last Vauxhall Carlton), which later arrived to Vauxhall naming system.

Good spot, serves me right for using my brain as a reference :D

That was 1991 which was still run under Group A still had some Sierra cosworths around.

No it wasn't. 1991 was the first year of Class II, later dubbed "supertouring". Middlehurst, Walker and Leech's Sierras were all refitted and reengineered to comply with the new rules. They weren't very good and neither was Gravett's dedicated Sierra Sapphire, another I Can't Believe They Raced It.

1990 was the transitional year with a mix of actual Group A and Class II cars.

There's a SsangYong (Actyon Ute) Racing Series that's been running since 2014 over in New Zealand as a support race for the V8SuperTourers. All powered by the old 2.3L Mercedes petrol units first used in the W210 E-Class.

Brilliant! An interesting take on Ute racing!

Will it still be FWD?

I think the petrol engine only powers the front axle. The electric motors, which weren't installed/in operation at Le mans were to power the rears. So FWD predominantly with the rears coming into play when the KERS (or whatever) is allowed to be activated., the flip of what the Audi/Porsche/Toyota do. The design doesn't realistically allow them to run it with any other configuration.

Will it still be FWD?
The car is only FWD as it's traveling in a straight line, and as it's cornering. Any time it needs traction, ie corner exits, the electric motors engage on the rear to make it 4WD.

To this day, I still don't get what the fuss is about. It's a perfectly sound idea.
It's only innovation if it works.
So it's not innovative because their vendor, Torotrak, made false promises about the capabilities of their system, which meant they had to run with basically 40% of a car through absolutely zero fault of their own? Okay then.

"It's not RWD."

Big whoop, there's merit enough to attempt it. The car's not my thing--too much downforce, too much grip, too high techy-techy--but I really want Nissan to get the kinks worked out and winning to shut the naysayers up. Then again, I can see them whining about it not being fair.

Forgive me if this one has been listed.

Honda racing team in Alabama, Honda Odyssey.

If memory serves, Honda 3.5 V6, around 250hp stock, 5 speed, not certain whether they went with the auto or the stick. Massive modifications to the van.

I've got a friend involved in this one.

Edit, posted before finishing my coffee. This is the MDX.
