Faster than an E30 M3, eh? Now that is enough to make it worthy of being in Gran Turismo, moreso than the actual M3. #sarcasmincluded

But seriously, that's an impressive result for a Frankenstein combination of rally engine, MPV body and Supertouring drivetrain as well as suspension. When you factor in the notion that the 806 was a one-race wonder and you can't help but to be impressed...

I did some research. It was 3rd quickest in the Procar Div. 2 class (20 cars), against Clios, Corollas, Golfs, and even an E30 M3.
The van used a rally Group A Peugeot 306 engine, and the supertouring 405 Mi16 supspension and gearbox.

Mrs. Ten officially loves this pic. She has the 2.0 Fiat version (without the race trickery or fully-functioning electrics) and is a nutter in it. Only last night we got up to 95 with two double basses in the back before I simply had to shut my eyes. I hope the race spec fixes the body roll though. And the screaming.

NASCARTucker_1500.jpg

This car was entered in a 1950 Nascar event at Canfield Motor Speedway. What is special about it? It is the one time a Tucker Torpedo was entered in a race. Only 50 Tucker Torpedo's were ever built and it is a highly sought after collector car today. It dropped out of the race after a single lap due to a broken right rear axle.

Also many people believe that Toyota in 2006 was the first non-American manufacturer to win a race, but that isn't true, in 1954 in Linden, New Jersey(the site of Nascar's first ever road course event) Al Keller drove a Jaguar XK120 to victory.

"A team of four riders put together by Jean-Francois Piot decided it would be a good idea to tackle the 1980 Paris-Dakar on Vespas. On the first of January the four riders set off alongside 211 other entrants, and on the 23rd of January two crossed the line amongst the 81 official finishers. The Vespa PX 200s crossed seven countries, and more than 10,000 kilometers of terrain."

Remember the N24 was very different back then. The majority of entries were VLN entrants, who in turn were made up of the lower classes. Lots of small hatchbacks and club teams - the 5th place finisher in 2006 was a BMW 120D.

The RX qualified 195th (it was essentially a completely stock car), but finished 79th, even after the power steering failed. That did make it the first electric/petrol hybrid car to ever finish a major endurance race - that fact alone also goes to show how far we've come in 10 years in terms of hybrid power.

Rototiller racing.

I kid you not.

Everything that is wrong with America was in that video. I wonder if the warmup to the big race was jousting on riding mowers with weed eaters.
Seems like a better time than running with bulls or chasing a wheel of cheese down a hill. Takes a slightly higher degree of intellegence too - it takes some smarts to build a contraption like that, any idiot can throw themselves down a stupidly steep hill.

How many of you would've ever expected THIS to have happened? I sure didn't and surprisingly, I don't even remember it. And the crazier part? This raced before the itasha cars you see in Super GT (Goodsmile Racing for instance). Just let this sink in..

Can't blame 'em, interest for all those brands was at a high. Though there could be a way to do a better job...

Sponsor money will make you do anything...

We used to be weird, and then Brian France nearly sent it all to the shadow realm... I got nothing, any Yu-Gi-Oh the Abridged series fans here?

Say hello to Toyota's C-HR Racing, their new N24h gun (with a RCF and RC as sidekicks)!
Isn't the road model slated for 2017? I remember my dad's friend at Toyota saying it was a '17.

Meet the PAS Pontiac...a one-off designed for the 1987 IMSA 12 Hours of Sebring. Designed to compete in the Camel Lights Class of prototypes, the NA four-cylinder was tuned to about 300hp against fields of roughly 450-500hp ("Lights" were the second-tier category, analogous to Group C2.) One more showing at Riverside the following year, and it mysteriously disappeared. It was a DNQ at both, being 37 seconds off the Lights pole time at Sebring. Sort of like a DeltaWing, but not even close to prime-time. It looks like a Funny Car got lost on its way back from the GatorNationals...

I can't seem to find a frontal shot of this car...anyone have a photo?
