The "penis on car argument" is terribly flawed mostly because another console game, NASCAR 09, had something even better: Paint booth, where you imported your paint schemes into the game via the server and through all the visiting of the communities, I never spotted one car with a penis on it. The point I make is the whole thing is essentially an irrational and exxadurated fear based on one or two sightings from one immature idiot (which I'm sure hasn't made a comeback ever since) and therefore, its kinda nothing more then excuse not to have a livery editor.

Also, I really would developers to embrace the Paint booth idea. We're now on the next gen console and its about time people got a new option with far more control of what they want to create.

Actually paint booth cars where not allowed online for the exact same reason I stated. It also changes the ESRB rating.

I should know, I worked at EA in the online group that built it at that time. It was a crushing blow.

The argument goes beyond "penis" and includes other silly things compounding the whole situation.

Forza promised moderation and promoted community moderation and also happen to be a 1st party studio. Pd isn't likely to invest in moderation or features to moderate.

Give me another example.

Right, So I'm not getting the ability to customize my car because "maybe" "some" "other" players "might" stick on in appropriate images and Text?

That makes sense.

Give me another example.
Pc sim racing community.
I can't see a single reason why gtplanet.net couldn't manage content moderation as much as nogripracing.com , drivingitalia.net , racedepartment.com , rfactorcentral.com and other major sim racing sites actually do.

PC is a different world... Almost rogue and I love it. But consoles are very isolated and controlled environments. In large part due the corps owning the space and governing (tcr/trc) everything within it.

Had we known even EA couldn't bend 1st party on paint booth (this particular feature) we would have never done it.

You could take everyone that's ever played all of those games combined then multiply by 10 or 20 or more to get even close to the volume you'd have to deal with on GT. Content moderation in GT would be a full time job for lots and lots of people.

What I mean is doing something like rfactorcentral and nogripracing where a comunity of skinners upload liveries to their servers. Report button and you are done, they manage terabytes of content and I've never seen offensive stuff. With all the moderators and auto-moderating comunity we have in gtplanet it's impossible to see obscenity here.
If some fool tries, he get IP banned in a matter of minutes. I have no doubts it will works here.
If one day GT will have a livery editor and people can upload their skins to the internet I'll be glad to offer my help to the forum.

GTPlanet =/= Sony. Even if PD introduced a livery editor that allowed folks to upload liveries from their computers versus their systems, I highly doubt they'd allow it to go through an unofficial site, much less let said site govern what does and doesn't make it.

Modnation Racers and Ferrari Challenge has a livery editor and both games are PS3 games only. So why shouldn't GT6 include a livery editor too?

Developers has their own site but skins and mods are uploaded everywhere.
The thing is, as long as PD bring sales figures to Sony,
Sony don't bother paying someone to moderate an "upload your livery here" official site.

Because complete prats will use the feature to report people for a laugh/they just beat me.?

Some people will always abuse any given situation.

full player controll livery editor will not happen because of that the game is for 3 years and older pd want's to keep it that way and this means they can't have dicks and boobs on cars simple as that.

In my opinion, the GT graphics engine can't handle custom liveries and dynamic damage - simple as that. We won't see these until GT7 on the PS4.

Yet ModNation Racers or LBP Karting, both arguably more geared towards younger audiences, both have some form of livery editor. So does Forza, also rated Everyone.

There's no difference between the Impreza WRC2008 getting damaged in-game in its current form, and how that damage would be handled with a custom livery. The only thing standing in the way is a user interface to allow us to make them.

How does Forza moderate it?

A report function.

Why can't the report function be once 5-10 people report for livery the livery of that car is just removed? And all liveries go into a database or something just in case it was a trolling thing so it can be undone.

I feel like I'm getting too confident that a livery editor will be in GT6. But c'mon, Base Model has to mean more than just a basic race car livery. Wouldnt it just be called "race car" or TC like the DLC cars for GT5? Plus, since flat floors and brake kits are in gt6, that has to hint towards something. Flat floors are used for aerodynamics and widely used on race cars. Since those are now in does that mean we can make any car a race car? And if so, wouldn't a liver editor be necessary? getting carried away. ahhh
