Are there any features missing from GT5 that you’d like to have included?

Kazunori said “Yes”, without hesistation. “But there’s still time to work on things!”

Would this include a livery editor?

“Probably not for GT5, though it’s certainly on our list of things to work on…”.

Thank you C.C. 👍

Id say that definitive proof if any were needed, Big tv check, Power point presentation check etc

Those were all for GTHD but were scraped along with the game.

Most of these features saw the light of day in GT5.

My one hope is that the 3 features in red are all part of the same plan. The first two have made their way....now how about the last?

We didn't get the following:

-Head to Head Racing
-Track Day
-Team Builder
-Club Builder
-Livery Editor
-Number Plate Editor
-Race Builder Tool

That's 7 things we didn't get of a list of 19. We did get 12 of those things, which is cool, and I think the Number Plate Editor would be cancelled because of less-than-AUP-friendly-conduct, but the remaining 6 things... Basically don't even exist.

So, they'll either focus on making all of those things a reality (à la "GT6 Online will be the biggest Online game-mode of any GTx game") or abandon those plans and spend all of their time on something else.

As toko pointed out, that presentation from 2006 was for mainly for GTHD. Other than it showing "Livery editor", it never confirmed that it was going to be in GT5. As CC mentioned, Kaz even said that a livery editor for GT5 probably wouldn't happen.

Yep i think that's online play or split screen
Yep before we start a race in an online lobby
[ Its number plate , not licence plate , we can change the number on Rm's and go karts..
Yep , track maker.. although its race maker

But it's certainly not touge.

Certainly not a "Track Day" where the whole point of the session is to improve upon the driving experience, and the comfort in the vehicle, by reinforcing good driving lines, and other variables that make a driver more comfortable; the lobby is basically a "waiting room," in my opinion, and nothing like a driving school/track day.

So, suddenly having maybe 20 vehicles with changeable numbers makes it a feature that you can claim as "in the game" without a disclaimer?

Suddenly, making a track, and making a DTM race weekend are the same thing. Strange, really, because I thought that the layout of corners had nothing to do with the layout of a race weekend. For example, when I'm racing, there are two different types of "race days."

There's a qualifying race day, with a qualifying session, a pre-final, and a final.

There's also a heat race day, with two heat races and a feature race.

But, no, this has nothing to do with a course creator, I'm sorry for not clarifying.

Making proper racing liveries would be for nothing if there aren't any modifications available for the interior of the car (roll cages, race seats, rear seat remove option, etc.). A full on race livery on a car with a street interior just doesn't look right in my opinion.

Its number plate , not licence plate

Number plates are license plates. Let's not try to distort what people said to excuse them giving promises they didn't deliver. As mentioned above, under your definition of number plates == racing numbers, there are only twenty cars that fall into that category anyway.

This, for example, would just look like a company-owned (company car) car, if it still had its rear seats. I second that. 👍

Sorry please excuse my ignorance, My logic still stands however weather its fact or not, Natural progression GT5 prologue would still have used some coding etc as seen in GTHD same as GT5 would have used some coding etc from GT3 and GT4 with those horrible last gen standard cars.

So does Kaz have any excuse really, I still maintain a livery creator would bring the GT series bang upto date, Other and lets be polite here (Relatively unknown) devs have managed it with surprisingly good results.

But Kaz specifically said livery editor wouldn't be featuring in GT5 and is left into his and PD's to work on list, thus "technically possible" for a livery editor and better customisation is a possibility or some sort.

It's a feature that's been technically possible for the last what 10-15 years, If only PD and Kaz were more customer orientated like Ubisoft least they request and ask what players liked, disliked, wanted etc.

Personal opinion I really doubt we will get any form of livery editor/creator on this gen of GT games, I guess we will just have to settle for more RM cars or something like that, If it happens however I will gladly eat my hat.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see I suppose, but I'll have faith that we'll see it at some form. I think E3 should be the perfect place since is international. ;)

GT6 is at a early built stage so I guess the livery editor is probably being worked on along with customisation as we speak. Sorry you can say I'm being hopeful. lol

An early stage? It'd 6 months from release, they may not have shown us everything yet but whatever they do have needs to well into development and nearly finished at this point.

Or pre-alpha, sorry I'm not very good at knowing this kind of stuff. :P Last time saw from one of the photos it said pre-alpha if I remember correctly.

E3 would be the perfect opportunity but ... We all know by now how tight lipped Kaz is and how his answers always tend to be more philosophical than giving anything concrete unfortunately.

I commend your optimism ah well I'm still on the fence GT5 did somewhat knock my confidence in PD.

Sorry to hear. Kaz is pretty tight lipped at times, at GT5 that was something else. O.O Guess we'll see at E3 (hopefully) than. :)

I'm more of a wait and see kind of guy but I think I can almost guarantee that GT6 will not have wide open livery editing and I'm certain it will not involve any editing done outside the game, as with Photoshop for example. I just can't see Kaz giving up that kind of control to gamers within his beloved GT series. I think the thought of one of his Nissans running around the Nurb with a giant penis on it would make him lose sleep at night...lol.

What I can see is a fixed menu of custom paint jobs that look like generic liveries, with perhaps several options for number placement and style/colour. I can see these fixed liveries also being part of DLC packages, with the really cool ones saved for DLC.

You know, I was thinking the same, because online lounges would be full of inmature people with penises painted on their fully upgraded cars (a veyron, for example) and that might not only make Kaz lose his sleep.

This argument against a full livery editor is brand new and one I've never seen before.

That's not the argument I'm making. Yes, there will be a lot of really dumb things on cars if you have a wide open livery editor, that's the nature of the beast. I'm sure the vast majority will be creative and interesting. What I can see though, is Kaz having nightmares about websites devoted to pornographic GT6 liveries and I don't think that would sit well with him and he just doesn't want to deal with it at all. Along with that, you'd have no choice but to have a reporting function that will have to be staffed by real people at some point and this costs money and drives people away from the game, something else I think he's loath to do.

Has everything to do with Kaz and not much else.

This is the kind of mentality that is holding such a feature back from the game, Having only played one racing game online that has a livery creator that being Modnation Racers, Never once did I ever come across anything like that, If anything I was the one pushing the boundaries more than most everyone what with a playboy car and a Viagra one.

I must say you're right there Johnny, and I agree. I mean, I saw all that crap on FM3 for crying out. O_O I was really grossed out by it. No wonder in Shift 1/2 and Grid 2 theres pre-sets, makes sense though and should be in GT6 as well imo.

I think others should know this as well. And Simon, if you have FM3, I suggest you to take a look for yourself.... Either type it in or look at top rated.

I don't see how people making childish liveries would be a big problem. Online is also full of people who's only in it for crashing and ruining the races for other people and the way to deal with it is the same as the way you would deal with childish liveries - a fat kick out of the lobby.
