the "just plain ugly" car thread

Jesus Christ, WTF is that monstrosity?

So much wrong in 1 car design!

If you thought that the Viewt was bad, just wait until you see one of Mitsuoka's other offerings - the Orochi.

If that wasn't horrid enough, there's also the convertible version known as the "Nude Top"

EDIT: ...but wait, there's more from Mitsuoka. This is the Le Sayde - no points for guessing what it's based on.

New Zealand's only car to have entered commercial production...

But why? It's an abomination to all things that move via wheels and a motor of some sort.

The Trekka... What is it meant to be? I'm not sure, but whatever it is... It's doing it wrong. According to Wikipedia, "A single Trekka was exported to General Motors in Detroit in 1969, the purpose and outcome of which is unknown." I think I know what GM did when they saw it... Burned it. With fire, and lot's of it to make sure they never see it again.

And more more gold from Wikipedia... "The Trekka did, however, prove unattractive to black market thieves, who preferred the more ubiquitous and tougher Land Rover and Jeep."

Proving that even thieves have standards about what they steal.

It looks like a Land Rover Defender that never grew properly.

Kind of endearing, really.

Okay, let's pretend all of them look similar. What is it about them that you think is ugly?

Can you be more specific?

They tend to overuse the same grill, they are heavy, and they all look similar, by similar I mean the curves look the same, its always a V12, its powered by a damn BMW- I already hate BMW's.

Also they look like a Chysler 300C.

Are you currently aware that there is more than one Rolls Royce?

Let me refraise my post. I know they use more than one engine. They also use V16s and V12. But the current line-up looks the same.

Knowing what you're talking about called. It wants to schedule a get together.

The bolded bit is wrong. And considering the Rollers came first, wouldn't it be fairer to say that the Chrysler 300C looks like the Rolls-Royce instead?

I don't see the similarity between a Chrysler 300 and a Rolls Royce.

But I do agree that Rolls Royce makes ugly cars. They're just so... bland.

So you were wrong to say that it is always a V12.

And let's not forget the V8 that was used in the 2000s era Corniche.

Yes I was wrong. But if you look back at the past, the non letter Chrysler 300 came out before the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud.

If you're talking about all Rolls-Royces ever made, you can't say this is ugly.

Rolls Royce was founded in 1906. The first Chrysler 300 came out in 1955. And Rolls Royce copied Chrysler?

Erm, and these two look nothing alike, once again disproving your point.

You've asked the audience, so you've only got two lifelines left.

Ok they don't, your point proven right.

Well the 300 and the Silver Cloud both came out in 1955. And are nothing alike, but that's besides the point.

Edit: Tree'd by people I don't like. And Beeblebrox.

Don't know if it's a repost, but these aren't exactly pretty:

Hmm... the Bangle-butted Bimmers were unconventional and the rear styling wouldn't really be fit for all models but I think it did work for the E63 M6:

I agree that not so much for the 7 you posted, though.

I agree, it looks pretty nice on those and really stands out. The front is the weak point of the styling, in my opinion.
